Review Round-Up: Sex Toy Apps

Sex Toy Apps

This year I’ve already reviewed more app compatible sex toys than ever before, and we still have three months to go! Although as technology continues to become a vital part of our everyday lives, I suppose this is only to be expected. Until now I have included detailed guides on all apps I come across within my usual product reviews. But that isn’t working anymore. Firstly, the in-depth way I write my reviews doesn’t translate all that well to apps. Plus, since apps get updates that completely erase previous versions, there’s no point in having 500 words in a review from two years ago on an app that’s since been overhauled, even if the toy itself is still popular. So, from now on you can find all my thoughts on the world’s best adult apps right here at my sex toy app review round-up!

App compatible vibrators are hands down the biggest innovation to hit the adult industry in the last decade. Replacing the remote-controlled toys of the previous generation, now users are able to not just adjust the vibrations on their products from a distance, but have a far greater level of control than ever before, syncing toys to music, audiobooks, the sound of your partner’s voice, and even video games, whenever the mood strikes. Although the advanced capabilities local Bluetooth connection brings seems to pale in comparison to what app-controlled toys now offer long-distance couples. Being able to control a product over the internet, no matter where you are in the world, has been a game changer for so many, and as more app toys get released every week, the variety of options on offer only continues to improve.

The only problem is, how do you possibly choose which sex toy app to try? Whilst all of these apps are available for free to download, which is worthwhile doing now if you want to get a feel for how it’s going to look, you’ll need a compatible product to be able to access any of the features. Plus, with glitches being so common in this kind of tech, you can’t always rely on what the app store tells you. That’s why I’m breaking it all down and laying out my personal experiences with some of the most popular apps on the market, as well as offering some recommendations on who they’d be best for, to help you make your mind up.

Quick Overview

In a hurry? Start here. This table gives a brief look at each app in the round-up and how it fares compared to the others when it comes to some of the most common sex toy app features. I’ve also included my personal rankings here, for an even quicker way to seperate app royalty from the duds. Then, if you want more details on any of the features, glitches (which are marked with a *), or want to know what toys are available with it, keep on reading.

App Reviews

This round-up is an ongoing project that I will be updating regularly with more sex toy apps. So if you don’t see what you’re looking for, check back soon. I’d also recommend checking the dates at the bottom of each review. Apps are updated frequently, and whilst I always strive to bring you the most up-to-date information, there’s going to be times when this information is outdated.

These apps have been tested on my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Coming soon: Satisfyer, Monster Pub, ZALO, Lovehoney & Vibease

Honey Play Box

The Honey Play Box app (“HoneyPlayBox” in the app store) is a newer sex toy app with a growing range of features. Unfortunately, it struggles with glitches near constantly, making use difficult. Additionally, many of the originally advertised features, such as a community mode, have since been removed. In a win for accessibility, however, they have recently introduced a voice command system for some of their products, the first app I have tried to implement such a feature. Plus, I do like the simple design, and hope a update fixes what is otherwise a promising app soon.

  • Bluetooth Control: Choose from the same settings your toy has or access further steady speeds. You can also use your mic for control.
  • Music Mode: Two preloaded songs are offered, or use songs from within your phone’s memory. Alternatively, it can connect seamlessly with the Spotify app.
  • Voice Control: Say “Hey Honey” to choose from a range of voice command options.
  • Long Distance Control: Toy users can either send a link, which allows their partner to control the toy through a browser, or connect to a partner within the app.
  • Online Chat: In addition to a basic text chat, audio and video calls are available, and you’ll have the option to offer toy control during, which works as an overlay so you can still hear / see each other if desired.
  • Pressure Sensing Mode: Vibration speed will change in response to how much pressure is applied to the toy (not available on all products).
  • Menstruation: Log your period days, as well as details such as flow and pain, and see a prediction of your next cycle.
  • Wellness: At the end of sessions, you’ll see how long you spent, an estimation of how many calories you burned and your vaginal temperature.

That I’ve reviewed:

More products:

  • This version of the app is the glitchiest I’ve ever tried, with far too many errors to list here. I’ll mention those I feel are important, but please note that almost every feature on this app has a tendency to not always work
  • Voice control does not always work
  • Cannot input some data in menstruation screen, and records can disappear
  • Pressure control is not sensitive enough to work when product is vaginally inserted
  • Privacy passcode doesn’t always come up, and occasionally the app will log you out or crash
  • Temperature control isn’t always accurate
  • Product can start randomly vibrating, with the app not being able to turn it off
  • Quality on video calls is very poor
  • You’ll need to select a gender – options are boy, girl, and secret

With this app having so many issues, there are only three things I would recommend it for. The first is if you want to use the voice control, and the second is if you want Spotify integration (keeping in mind that both of these can be particularly glitchy). The third is if you want the convenience of sending a link to hand over control, rather than your partner also needing the app, but want to avoid spending extra for this capability with a Lovense product.

We-Vibe

The We-Vibe app (previously called “We-Connect”) has been through many iterations since I first tested it in 2017. It’s always had trouble with glitches, but unfortunately I’ve found the most recent update to be the worst of them all. Whilst it has many features, most of them don’t work or glitch when paired with certain products. Additionally, whilst I enjoy its bright visuals and prominent toy imagery at home, it is not suitable for discreet use, especially compared to previous versions of the app.

  • Bluetooth Control: Swipe, touch, or use the mic to control the speed of your toy. Further patterns are included, and the unique “Multi Vibe” divides the screen into four, allowing you to quickly move between modes.
  • Pattern Playlists: Custom patterns are no longer available, but you can make a playlist of your favourites.
  • Multiple Toys: You can have at least two toys connected at once, and control them simultaneously.
  • Long Distance Control: Both parties need the app. Text chat and audio / video calls are available, and toy control may be exchanged. Set reactions, such as “more” or “less”, make quick communication easy.
  • Toy Customisation: Make changes to a product’s maximum intensity and sleep mode, for use even when you’re disconnected from the app.
  • Advanced Data Protection: Something the app will remind you of every chance it gets. You also don’t need to make an account.
  • Intimate Inspiration: Sex education and tips included on the homepage.

That I’ve reviewed:

More products:

  • Toy battery not always accurate
  • Included toy video guides are mostly useless
  • Some toys are only able to run at one speed within the app
  • Music syncing does not work
  • Frequent glitches during long distance control, such as an inability to connect, never-ending loading screens, laggy or non-existent vibration response, and more

Pink Punch

The Pink Punch app (called “PinkPunch App” in the app store) is a new app which is fairly basic in nature. Yet it makes up for this with its impressive visuals, which use early 2000s aesthetics mixed with a cyberpunk feel to create a sense of nostalgia and fun. Plus, whilst it doesn’t offer much outside of its bluetooth and long distance control, it is almost free of glitches, a rare occurrence for sex toy apps.

  • Bluetooth Control: Flick through a range of extra modes and swipe to adjust the strength from levels 0 to 100.
  • Long Distance Control: Both parties need the app. Basic text chat and audio calls are available, and the partner without the toy takes control.
  • Instructions: PDF manuals for toys are available to access, although languages are limited.
  • Records & Achievements: View statistics on your toy use and claim awards for completing goals.
  • Vibration changes can be laggy
  • You’ll need to select a gender – male and female are the only options

If you care less about fancy features and just want a reliable app for bluetooth and long distance control, this is it. The downside is that there are currently only two products available for it, and, like the app, they’re more interesting visually than in use.

Lovense

The Lovense app (called “Lovense Remote” in the app store) is on a different level from other sex toy apps here. This is as Lovense are a very tech-focused company and their apps are of equal importance to their toys. Whilst it has a few glitches, the countless features (many of which aren’t available anywhere else) more than make up for this, and frequent updates mean there’s always going to be something new to enjoy.

  • Bluetooth Control: Various functions allow you to swipe for control. Custom patterns, music syncing and mic control also available.
  • Long Distance Control: If both partners have the app, you can connect to transfer toy control. Text chats and audio / video calls are also available, and you can even create groups.
  • Control Link: An alternate long distance control option, you can generate a link to provide a partner basic control. This can be timed, and you also have the option to share it to Lovense’s Discord server and sister app, Tophy.
  • Wish Lists: Create your own wish list of Lovense products within the app, or gift products to other people.
  • Speed Mode: Designed for a thrilling passenger experience, the faster you move, the faster your toy will go.
  • Games: Connect the app to your Steam account for a range of compatible gaming options, or play the side-scrolling endless runner, Projekt Melody: Melware Rises, which is included within the app.
  • Custom UI: You can make changes to the homepage and enable dark mode, helping the app to be more discreet.
  • Toy Customisation: Make changes to a product, including maximum intensities, disabling of LEDs and reprogramming the included patterns, for use even when you’re disconnected from the app.
  • Community Patterns: View and save custom patterns from other users, or share your own.

That I’ve reviewed:

More products:

  • Alarm function doesn’t work
  • Mic control can be glitchy
  • You can only access “liked” Spotify songs, rather than playlists
  • Running patterns at 4x speed can be glitchy

There’s no question that this is the most advanced app on the market. However, Lovense’s toys do come at a premium, so you’ll need to consider whether you’ll really make use of all these extra features.

SVAKOM

The SVAKOM app (called “SVAKOM” in the app store) is a fuss-free app that offers everything you’d expect from a sex toy app. Bluetooth control, long distance control, music control and more are all included in its simple design, which focuses on usability rather than visuals. And it has paid off, with the app featuring almost no glitches. Plus, with such a wide range of products in their catalogue, it’s no surprise this is one of the more popular apps on the market.

  • Bluetooth Control: Access further vibration modes and use a slider to adjust the intensity as needed. Can also be controlled via touch or your microphone.
  • Custom Patterns: Save your sessions in Touch Mode as a custom pattern or combine favourite preset patterns to create your own playlist.
  • Music Mode: In addition to being able to assess songs already in your phone’s memory, you can quickly and easily import MP3s from your computer to your phone via SVAKOM’s wifi uploader. Some songs are also provided if you do not have access to any.
  • Remote Mode: Create a “room” and send your partner the invite code. They join via the app and can take control of the toy via the preset, touch, music or custom pattern modes, as well as text or video chat with you. Provided reactions make communication easier, and video calls may even be minimised so that play can continue.
  • Guest Mode: No requirement to make an account for you or your partner.

That I’ve reviewed:

More products:

  • Sensitivity slider on Sound Mode makes little to no impact.
  • Using Heat Mode within the app is unnecessary on toys that can control it manually, especially since you need to keep the page open for it to work.
  • Battery level isn’t always accurate and frequently jumps around.

A great all-rounder app, this is my recommendation for those looking for something versatile that is still on the cheaper side. Not only does the app have a good selection of features with very little glitches, but SVAKOM offer a huge range of compatible products, which makes this the choice for those who want a toy collection that all runs on the same software.

Review: Blush Novelties Noje W3

Blush Novelties Noje W3

While I love all sorts of sex toys, I have to admit that clitoral vibrators and wand massagers are easily the type I use the most. It’s only sometimes that I am in the mood for dildos, internal vibrators, or butt plugs, but almost daily you can find me using a external vibrator. To me, wand massagers are the ultimate lazy masturbation toys, while clitoral vibrators are the perfect accessory to any sexy-time encounters with my partner. So, when Peepshow Toys approached me recently about reviewing some toys for them, I was drawn to the Blush Novelties Noje W3, as it’s essentially a cross between these two types of external vibrating toys. How? Well, it may look like a wand massager, but at less than half the size of my Magic Wand, it’s even smaller than some of my clitoral vibrators!

Product Description

The Blush Novelties Noje W3 is kind of mind-boggling to view in photos, and I can promise you it is likely smaller than you think. I knew the toy would be small when I requested it, it’s called a ‘Mini Wand’ after all, but I still wasn’t mentally prepared for its size, which is only 13cm / 5.1″ in total. It’s so small that it is just adorable to look at, and I can’t help but thinking “aww” every time I see it. It almost feels like a fake miniature version of the real thing. Thankfully for everyone though it most certainly isn’t fake, and for such a cheap toy it certainly has a lot going for it!

Blush Novelties Noje W3

Usually with toys of this price, I’ve come to expect that it’ll be lacking in some way, such as being battery powered, not waterproof, and so forth. But the Noje W3 completely defies those expectations, as not only is it USB rechargeable, but is also waterproof, body-safe, and comes with a 1 year warranty. The design for the toy is very simple, but it uses this to its advantage, coming off as very sleek and minimalist. It essentially just looks like a classic wand massager, although its handle is curved to give it something extra (although Blush Novelties also make a version without a curve, if it isn’t your thing). The body of the toy is made from a smooth ABS plastic that feels good to the touch, while the head is full silicone. Additionally, the silicone on the head can be removed for easy cleaning. At its lower end is the magnetic charging area, along with a single button for controlling the toy and its 10 functions. It comes in three colours, Rose (Pink), Sage (Green), and Wisteria (Purple), which is what I have. While pink and purple are very common sex toy colours, Blush Novelties have moved away from the more typical shades which is nice to see, and I love the green option as it’s a colour that’s too often forgotten in this industry.

Packaging

Blush Novelties Noje W3 with Box

My order with Peepshow Toys for the Blush Novelties Noje W3 was placed on the 29th of September and I received it on the 6th of October, which is a fantastic amount of time since it was coming all the way from the US to Australia. The package had no mention of the company that sent it, but did list the items inside as “Massager”, which may be an issue if privacy is important to you. The packaging for the toy itself is very simple, and what I expected of such a low budget sex toy. It continues on from the toy’s minimal theme, using a white box along with just simple details about how the toy works on it. There is also a clear plastic panel, letting you see the toy before opening the box. Once opened, inside I found the toy, along with its charging cord, and a small instruction manual which details using and caring for the toy in both English and Spanish. This manual also has information about the warranty, although sadly this only applies to those in the US and Canada.

Charging

Blush Novelties Noje W3 Charging

The Blush Novelties Noje W3 is USB rechargeable, which makes charging it super easy. Just connect one end of the charging cable to the toy, and the other end to a USB port. The charging cable is also magnetic, which is designed so that it may be easily applied to the vibrator without having to actually be ‘plugged in’. To use this just place it over the charging area on the toy and it should ‘click’ into place (you might need to spin it around a bit for this to work). Once on properly the button area should light up and blink slowly. I do find this magnetic charger occasionally frustrating to apply and position so it won’t just fall off immediately (or if it gets accidentally knocked during the charge), but it isn’t the worst magnetic charger I’ve ever used. It should take around 1.5 hours to fully charge it, and once finished the light will become steady. This should then give you about 1 hour of use.

Controls

As the toy only has one button it is rather easy to use and very intuitive. Firstly, to turn it on you just need to hold down the button for 3 seconds. This is kind of odd, as usually things turn on after just one click, and has resulted in me thinking it was either out of charge or broken a few times. But despite my troubles with it, this idea is actually a good one, as it basically acts as a travel lock, and since I doubt you’ll have as many vibrators as me, you’ll be less likely to forget this function. Once on you can then press the button to cycle through the toy’s ten modes, five of which are steady speeds, and five of which are patterns. It will then reset back to the first mode once you’ve gone through all of them (and will always start on the first mode, which is the lowest steady vibration), and then to turn the toy off just hold down the power button for 3 seconds again. I love everything about how this button works, and particularly love that the amount of steady vibrations and pattern vibrations are equal. My only criticism would be that if you want to lower the speed of steady vibrations you either need to click through the entire cycle to get back to what you want, or turn the toy off and on again which will take a minimum of 6 seconds, which are both quite frustrating.

Blush Novelties Noje W3 Button

First Impressions

According to the box of the Noje W3, the toy features “Deep rumbly vibrations”, although I have to admit I doubted this due to its small size. But I was pleasantly surprised when I first turned it on, as I was indeed greeted by rumbly vibrations. As with all vibrators, as the speed increases so does the buzziness, but this still wasn’t as much as most. In terms of how strong it actually is I was also surprised to find that this little toy can hold up its own against other powerful clit vibes such as the We-Vibe Tango. It has definitely got a strong motor in it, and is easily one of the more powerful clit vibes of my collection. Its noise level is also quite good, being a little bit noisy on its highest speed but probably still quiet enough to not be heard behind closed doors. The only downside is that the residual vibrations along the handle are also quite strong, which can make it difficult to hold for long periods of time.

My Experience

In use, due to its wand massager appearance, the expectation is that it’ll be broad stimulation, which is what those types of toys are known for. However, despite that expectation, the head is way too small for that, so it is instead more of a pin-point feeling. You really have to put appearances aside when using it, because once in use it really just feels like a clitoral vibrator, and nothing about it (other than perhaps the way I have to hold it) really speaks ‘wand massager’ to me. While I don’t find it as strong as some of my top rated clitoral vibes, such as the We-VIbe Tango and Nu Sensuelle Point, it certainly still gives a lot of stimulation and pleasure, and is far better than the majority of clitoral vibrators that I’ve tried. I love that it has five speeds, as I can slowly ramp this up when I am masturbating, and overall I find it very quick and easy to orgasm with. Plus, since it is so small I can also use it during PIV sex or masturbation with insertable toys, which is something I don’t get to do with regular wand massagers, and as the head of the toy is soft it doesn’t catch on my other toys, making it better for use during these times than even my bullet vibrators.

Cleaning & Care

Blush Novelties Noje W3

Cleaning this toy is easy as it is waterproof and has a removal head. If you’ve just gotten the head dirty then all you need to do is slide off the silicone and wash this, and if you’ve gotten the handle messy too then you can also pop this in to wash. Just give it a scrub with some warm soapy water, rinse and then air dry. Since the head has lines in its silicone, you may also want to scrub these with a spare toothbrush if it looks like bodily fluids are hiding here. You can then return it to whatever storage solution you have, but since the silicone does not attract dust you should be fine to leave it anywhere. Avoid using silicone lubricant with the silicone head, but if you do want to use this then perform a spot test first to see if they are compatible.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I actually really like the Blush Novelties Noje W3. When I first got it I thought it would be more of a novelty product, but it was clear from the first time I turned it on that this was not the case. I was genuinely surprised by just how strong and rumbly its vibrations are, not just because of its size but also because of its price tag. I am always happy when I have cheap products I feel I can recommend to my readers, because I know that not everyone have $100+ to fork out on a sex toy. This toy ticks all my boxes for functions, plus it essentially even has a travel lock despite that not being something that is advertised! I wouldn’t recommend this toy to someone who is looking for a cheap wand massager, because the stimulation I get from this toy is very different to what a regular massager would give. But for anyone who is looking for a cheap clitoral vibrator, this is definitely the way to go.

Sadly, the Blush Novelties Noje W3 has now been discontinued.

Blush Novelties
Review: Sola Sync – Princess Previews

Sola Sync

I always have mixed feelings whenever I am sent wand massagers for review. They are by far my favourite sex toys, so much so that I’m not sure if I could live without them. So the chances are I am probably going to very much enjoy testing any wand massager that happens to come my way. But at the same time, I feel this makes me more critical, as the bar for them has already been set so high, that how on earth can anything possibly attempt to exceed it? Despite all that though, I just can’t help but want as many as possible in my toy box, and my latest addition to this addiction happens to be the Sola Sync. While most wands are all essentially the same thing but with a different look and motor, the Sync stood out to me with its unique shape, and most interesting of all… a remote control! Thankfully Peepshow Toys were kind enough to send me one for review to see if it lives up to my high standards.

The Brand

Sola is a relatively new subset of Blush Novelties and so this is my first review of one of their products, but I have heard some fantastic things about them. Based in New York, the company is run by a couple and focuses on electrical sex toys. In addition to the Sync, they also have some internal vibes, rabbit vibes, and some egg massagers of their own design (which I’m very intrigued by). I love their branding and toy design, as it’s all very minimal and modern looking, and better yet, all their toys are made from body-safe materials.

Product Description

Sola Sync Head

It is clear a lot of consideration and thought has gone into designing the Sync, and I am so thankful to Sola for that. First off, it has all the regular considerations you would expect in a sex toy like this. Both the wand and the remote are USB rechargeable, made of silky smooth body-safe silicone, and the wand is also waterproof (the remote is not). It boasts 10 functions, 5 steady speeds and 5 patterns, which is a good amount and a fantastic balance of the two types. The Sync then features three buttons along its handle, while the remote has five, and these are raised so that they can be felt as well as seen. The Sync’s design is sleek and modern, and the reflective matte plastic details give off an incredibly luxurious feel. The head of the massager is rather small, completely firm, and fully rounded aside from a flat area on top. Sadly, the Sync is only available in purple.

The Sync’s uniqueness comes into play when you start to consider the shape it has been designed with. One of the biggest issues with wand massagers is that they are not very accessible for some people due to their weight and the need to hold them at an angle (usually with some force) against yourself for long periods of time. So what Sola has done is look at these issues, and then create a toy that aims to fix them. First off it is surprisingly light, much more so than my other massagers of its size. The curved ergonomic handle also aims to make holding it easier, and it has been shaped with our bodies in mind, so that it can rest against you easily for hands-free play. Plus, the handle is extra long, which aims to help improve grip, and it also means that if you use it as a back massager then it can reach all those difficult spots. Finally, the handle is flat so that it may be placed between two bodies without being uncomfortable, and the remote means that you can still control it. It’s like Sola thought of everything!

Packaging

Sola Sync Box

My order with Peepshow Toys for the Sola Sync was placed on the 29th of September and I received it on the 6th of October, which is a fantastic amount of time since it was coming all the way from the US to Australia. The package had no mention of the company that sent it, but did list the items inside as “Massager”, which may be an issue if privacy is important to you. The box for the Sync itself seems slightly excessive in size (it’s very big), but otherwise is gorgeous and feels totally luxurious. It’s made from thick card, and initially has a sleeve on it that features actual-size depictions of the toy, as well as information on what the toy can do. This sleeve can then be removed to reveal the box itself, which has a beautiful pink to purple gradient, and the brand name ‘Sola’ on the front with a UV coating (meaning it only shows up in certain lights). This then opens up to reveal the Sync and remote sitting in a plastic insert, and once this is removed you can access the instruction manual, storage pouch, charger, and a AC adaptor. These are also presently very nicely, and each have their own little box. The entire presentation of this toy is top notch, and the box is high quality enough to allow for it to be easily reused. Plus, the storage bag is nice and fits the toy well, while the instructions are quite detailed. Finally, this toy comes with an amazing 5 year global warranty, although make sure you keep the box if you think you might need this, as this will serve as your proof of purchase (which is frustrating when it’s so big!).

Charging

Sola Sync Charging

Charging both the wand and remote are super easy, and they actually use the same charging cord, which means you only need to take up one USB slot to charge the both of them, pretty neat! You should fully charge them prior to first use, and charging should take 1.5 hours. After this you will get around 1 hour and 20 minutes worth of play time. When on charge the LED light in both the wand and remote should blink, and when fully charged it will glow steady.

Controls

This first big issue I had with the Sola Sync is its buttons, which I’ve found very confusing. It only has three, a plus, a O, and a minus, which seem rather straight forward initially. To turn the toy on you just need to hold down the middle O button for three seconds, which will put the toy on a stand-by mode as indicated by the LED light turning on. This seems easy enough, but the problem is that the LED light is on the middle button, so you cannot see it as your finger is covering it, making it frustrating to tell if its turned on yet or not. Next, you need to activate the vibrations by clicking one of the other two buttons. According to the instructions, you press the plus button to increase speeds, and the minus button to decrease the speeds, which makes total sense, but it also says you press the plus button to turn on patterns. This is a little confusing, if you press plus are you going to be activating the patterns or increasing the speed? Well, this is what actually happens: Once in stand-by mode, if you press the plus button then it’ll put you on the lowest steady speed, and if you press the minus it’ll put you on the patterns (completely opposite to the instructions). You can then use the two buttons as a way to cycle through the 10 functions, increasing or decreasing them at will. After awhile you can get use to this, but it certainly isn’t easy to remember, and isn’t helped by the fact that the instructions are incorrect and vague. Once you’re done, you can then turn the toy off by holding the middle button down for 3 seconds, which feels a bit too long for me, as it means I cannot quickly turn it off if I need to.

The Remote

Sola Sync Buttons

Thankfully the Sync does somewhat redeem itself by having the buttons on the remote work like a dream. It has five buttons, an on/off button, plus, minus, and two arrows. As you’d imagine, pressing the on/off button will put it in a stand-by mode, as indicated by a LED light above the button (so you can actually see it). You’ll also then need to put the wand into stand-by mode, so the two can connect. Then you can then press the plus and minus buttons to cycle through the steady patterns, whilst you can use the arrow buttons to cycle through the patterns. Pressing the on/off button again will then turn off the vibrations and the remote, but leave the wand in stand-by mode, so you’ll have to turn this off separately (which is frustrating because if you forget about it like me then it drains the battery). Everything about this is fantastic and very intuitive to use, so it’s a shame the wand is so different. In regards to it connecting to the wand, I haven’t had a single issue. I even got my partner to walk as far to the other end of the house as possible with it, and it still worked (it’s suppose to have a reach of 40 feet)! Personally I don’t have a good reason to use the remote, other than to avoid the confusing buttons on the wand, but I could totally imagine this being a fantastic addition depending on how you use wands. In particular I think it would be perfect if you do rope bondage involving wands, as this way your partner will be able to control the wand without worry.

My Experience

The vibrations for the Sola Sync are described in their marketing as “rumbly” and “deep”, and I agree somewhat with this, although like most vibrators it does become more buzzy the higher it goes. The biggest issue I have with the vibrations on this toy however, is that I feel like the lowest steady speed is way too high. When I use sex toys I want the first setting to be gentle, so that I can calmly and easily get into the mood, and not completely overpower myself from the get go. I would like to think I have a pretty tough clitoris, but the first speed of the Sync is far too strong for me to place on it if I haven’t warmed up prior, and it is only made worse by the hard silicone of the head. Meaning I need to use another toy to start myself off, and then move onto the Sync, which seems pretty pointless. I would imagine if you don’t use vibrators often then you would struggle with this even more, and it’s certainly not ideal to need a secondary vibrator in any circumstance. Furthermore, in regards to the noise level, the Sola Sync is certainly one of my more noisy toys, and I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who lives with housemates or family.

Despite my issues with the vibrations and buttons, I do enjoy using this wand. Once I get over the initial strength of the first vibration, or warm myself up with a different toy, I find it quite pleasurable. The head is too hard and it can be a little too buzzy for my preferences, but despite this I can orgasm with it, it just takes a little while. I also like that I can ‘feel’ the buttons instead of having to stop masturbating to look at them (when I’m not using the remote), as this makes life so much easier.

Sola Sync

Also, this isn’t something I usually comment on, but the Sola Sync makes a damn good back massager. Seriously.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Sola Sync is super easy since it is waterproof. Just throw it in some soapy water when you’re done, give it a wash, rinse, and then dry. You can then store it in its storage pouch or the box it came in. Keep in mind the remote is not waterproof, so just give this a wipe down if it happens to get dirty. Make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

I don’t want to dislike the Sola Sync, because I think it’s a brilliant example of human-centred design. Too often in this industry we see phrases like “Our Company Has Reinvented X Toy” and it’s rarely ever true. But I think that’s what Sola have done with this. They’ve taken a well-loved favourite, researched the troubles some people face when using it, and have designed the toy around those needs. The curved and extra long flat ergonomic handle, the weight of it, and the remote, all of these things directly help solve troubles that people have with wand massagers, and I think it’s brilliant. I certainly have issues with the buttons and speed settings of this toy, but those feel like such little things in comparison to the overall design, and they are also easy fixes. I also don’t want to put people off because I didn’t enjoy using this toy that much, because this toy wasn’t made with me in mind. In addition, this is also a quite a reasonably priced sex toy, so even though I’ve talked about how luxurious it is, it’s actually at the lower end of the wand prices. If you’ve ever had issues holding a wand massager, then this is for you and I’d whole-heartedly recommend getting one. For the rest of us, I would suggest holding back until Sola (hopefully) make some of the improvements I’ve suggested. Overall, if this is the sort of designs that Sola are coming out with, then they have certainly caught my eye and I am so excited to see what they do next and try more of their products. We need more companies in this industry like them.

Sadly, the Sola Sync has now been discontinued.

However, it seems to have been reborn as the identical Blush Wellness Eternal Wand!

Despite all that though, I just can’t help but want…

Review: Blush Novelties Neo Elite 7.5 Inch

Blush Neo Elite 7.5

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already halfway through the year! It’s been a pretty good one so far here at Princess Previews, but for anyone who read my Top 10 Toys of 2018 post you might have noticed that something has been missing… dildos! That’s right, in that post I declared that 2019 would be the year of dildos, since I had been sorely lacking reviews of my favourite type of toy on the blog last year (I only did one!). Well, it might have taken a little while, but here I am finally with my first dildo review of the year (that is, unless you count the Kink by Doc Johnson Drencher, but I don’t since I couldn’t actually fit it inside of me). It doesn’t stop here either, as SheVibe have been kind enough to send me three of the best looking dildos on the market right now. Coming up soon is the Tantus Magma and Uberrime Ripley Alien, but today I am starting with the Blush Novelties Neo Elite 7.5 Inch.

The Sender

Since it’s my first time working with US retailer SheVibe, I also just wanted to give them a quick shout-out. SheVibe were one of the first stores I ever bought adult products from, and as such a lot of the toys featured in my early reviews were bought through them. I loved them then because they have a huge range of quality products and their worldwide shipping prices are quite reasonable, and neither of these things have changed today. Plus, their brand is geeky as hell and full of pop culture references and comic book art, making their website a feast for the eyes even if you have no interest in sex toys. Being able to represent them now as an affiliate and complete reviews for them really makes me feel like I’ve come full circle as a sex toy lover, and I couldn’t be happier!

Background

Blush Neo Elite 7.5

The Blush Novelties Neo Elite 7.5 Inch is a perfect example of the current renaissance we’re experiencing in the sex toy industry. It’s a dual density silicone toy made by a big US brand that retails for less than $50 USD, which are words that would have been extremely unlikely just a few years ago. But it just goes to show that the efforts of bloggers and other advocates for body-safe products have not gone unnoticed, and as more and more brands turn towards silicone it has resulted in it becoming more affordable as its previous luxury status starts to fade. While companies like Tantus have been providing people like me with great silicone options for years now and were one of the first companies to do this, I feel like Blush have really been instrumental in this more recent industry change, and so I am really excited to be reviewing one of these products today.

Product Description

Blush have released a few fantastic looking silicone dildo lines over the last few years, such as Avant and Real Nude, but their latest Neo Elite line is the first that I have had the pleasure to try. What sets this line apart is that all the products in it are made with dual density silicone (which is my favourite kind and means that the toy has a firm inner core and squishy outer coating, making it feel quite life-like), they all have suction cups and are harness compatible / anal safe, and they all come in bright neon colours that aren’t typical of sex toys. As a realistic range of dildos (aside from the colours) they offer quite a few different options, so you can get whichever style of dick you prefer. Personally I went with 7.5 Inch, which seemed like a nice medium sized toy that offered some texture (prominent veins and a pronounced head), and I chose its orange colour (it also comes in pink). Not only is this my first orange dildo, but it is also surprisingly my first ever dildo with balls, which I was particularly excited about. While its overall length is in the name, it actually only has an insertable length of 14cm / 5.5″, and a diameter of 3.8cm / 1.5″.

Blush Neo Elite 7.5 Texture

Packaging

My order for the Blush Novelties Neo Elite 7.5 Inch was placed with SheVibe on the 24th of April, and I received it on the 6th of May. The box was 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside. To reduce the international shipping costs and since Blush’s packaging is only very basic anyway, SheVibe did not include the product’s actual packaging, but instead just sent the toy in a plastic bag along with the paper insert that would have been part of the box. This isn’t a practice SheVibe use with their customers, as you cover the cost of shipping when going through checkout. While I don’t have the packaging, I can see from this product listing photo that it’s just a simple plastic clamshell and so I didn’t miss out on much. The paper insert that I did receive includes heaps of great information about the toy to aid you during purchase (but nothing you wouldn’t already know if you bought it online). Considering the low price of this product I think this basic packaging is fine.

First Impressions

Blush Neo Elite 7.5 Balls

When I first got the Blush Neo Elite 7.5 Inch I was surprised by just how soft and buttery its silicone was. I’ve never had a dildo that felt like this before, and it’s quite addicting to touch. The outer silicone is also softer than any of my other dual density dildos, making the firm core more obvious to the touch, which in turn makes it a bit less realistic feeling. Meanwhile, the head of the toy doesn’t feature the core and is 100% squishy silicone, which lends itself to easier insertion. On that note, this toy doesn’t require any warming up to use and inserts relatively easily, although on days when I want to make the process even smoother a quick go with the Funkit Toys NoFrillDo is enough to get me ready.

My Experience

I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of using this toy. As soon as I insert it I find the prominent veins uncomfortable and scratchy against the walls of my vagina. I also find that they feel very unnatural, and considering this is supposed to be a realistic toy, not a fantasy toy, I feel Blush have missed the mark. The head’s massive ridge is also an issue for me, as I do not enjoy the popping sensation it makes when exiting me. It’s not all bad though, as these issues are only really prominent during long thrusts of the toy. I have found that I can instead really enjoy using it by just fully inserting it and doing small thrusts. With this I am able to stimulate my A-Spot, and I find it very pleasurable. Then, pairing it with my We-Vibe Tango or Nu Sensuelle Point is enough to give me a really good time. Two other huge positives are the addition of the suction cup which I am able to use as a handle (as without this my hand would be getting very messy due to the short length of the toy) and the balls which I love feeling hit up against me.

Blush Neo Elite 7.5 Suction Cup

In regards to the suction cup, this isn’t a toy feature I personally make use of, but I have tested it out on a few surfaces around my home and it works really well. It is definitely the best suction cup I’ve ever tried, as it does not remove from surfaces easily at all. I don’t think you would experience any issues using this during play.

Cleaning & Care

As this toy is silicone and waterproof, cleaning it is relatively easy, although due to its textured nature you do need to put some extra care and time in. I’d recommend first soaking it in some warm soapy water and then scrubbing it with a toothbrush. Be particularly careful around the veins and skin folds near the head, as this is where bacteria is most likely to hide. After this rinse the toy with hot water, leave to air dry, and then return it to storage (I’d recommend a zip-lock bag as the toy’s silicone attracts dust). I’d then also recommend sterilising the toy after every few uses just to make sure it’s 100% clean. Blush don’t seem to have any recommendations online for sterilising their toys, but if their silicone behaves the same as most then you should be able to boil it, put it in the dishwasher, or a few other methods as listed in my Cleaning Guide. Lastly, make sure to only use water-based lubricants with this product, as others may have negative effects on the silicone.

Final Thoughts

Blush Neo Elite 7.5 Head

Overall I thought the Blush Neo Elite 7.5 Inch was a relatively good dildo. When you consider that it’s made with dual-density silicone yet it’s retailing for under $35 USD, it makes it hard to not give this product my full support. I’ve never had an issue with texture on a toy before, but I just found the veins on this to be too rough and unnatural feeling for my tastes. Plus I think this was made worse by the fact that in my mind this was supposed to be a realistic feeling dildo. If I had instead gone into it with some sort of fantasy toy in mind perhaps I would have enjoyed it more. But this is really me as a reviewer picking out flaws, because if I wasn’t having to judge it then I probably wouldn’t have even considered these things. At the end of the day I really enjoyed using this toy against my A-Spot, and I loved the addition of the balls and suction cup. I would definitely recommend this as a great budget silicone dildo, especially if you are a fan of texture.

Blush Novelties
Review: Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny

Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny

At this point in my sexual journey I am pretty good at picking out adult toys that I am going to like. I know what brands and retailers I can trust to provide good quality products, and I know what types of toys I enjoy. In fact, I know what sub-types of toys I enjoy, and what sub-types of those sub-types I enjoy. When you’re a reviewer you have to analyse each product you try, which lets you pick up on things that most people wouldn’t even notice, and in turn you really get to understand your preferences when it comes to your own sexual pleasure. So, due to all this I’m usually pretty careful when choosing toys. But there is just one thing that always ruins this otherwise foolproof plan for me… One thing that I just can’t resist! Cute toys. And Blush Novelties’ new Sweet Bunny Classic Slim Vibe from their The Collection range is one of the cutest I’ve seen for awhile.

The Sender

This toy was offered to me by Betty’s Toy Box for review, and while it’s not the sort of thing I am focusing on this year, I just couldn’t resist accepting it! It was also my first opportunity to work with Betty’s Toy Box for a review, and as they are one of my favourite retailers it was a chance not to be missed. Based in the Canada, their pin-up girl style branding is on point, as is the range of toys they stock. While they don’t offer body-safe toys exclusively like most of my other favourite stores, they do put care into only featuring high quality products. I often find that if I can’t get my hands on a toy from any of my other recommended retailers then they will have it. Plus, they also offer sexual health and wellness information on their site, as well as their own reviews on the products they stock. Betty’s Toy Box ship worldwide, and while their shipping prices are very reasonable if you live in the US or Canada (free on orders over $39 for the US and $99 for Canada), they are also not too bad for us international folks, with it being free on orders over $225 and a flat-rate of $50 for orders under that.

Product Description

Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny and We-Vibe Tango
The Sweet Bunny next to my We-Vibe Tango for size comparison.

As has happened far too many times in my sex toy reviewing career, I was blinded by the aesthetic appearance of a toy and forgot to actually read any information on it. What I thought I was receiving was a small bullet vibrator, similar in size and style to my We-Vibe Tango or Nu Sensuelle Point, but what I actually got was a far longer and insertable version of this type of toy, a ‘Classic Slim Vibe’. I’ve tried toys like this before when I first started experimenting with adult products, as they are often low budget and aimed at beginners, but they aren’t as common these days. Despite my misunderstanding, I was still excited to try this out and see how it compared to the cheap toys of my teenage years!

Blush Novelties have taken all the typical cheap slim vibe features and applied them to The Collection Sweet Bunny, but in a refined way that elevates it from the products I remember. It’s battery operated, splash-proof, and controlled by turning a dial at the base of the toy, rather than using buttons. Made with a silky smooth ABS plastic, this toy is non-porous and body-safe, so it can be used internally as well as externally. It is, of course, quite slim, with a width of only 1″ / 2.5cm in diameter, so this is a good toy for warming up internally or if you have issues with penetration. It then has a length of 7″ / 17.8cm, and 5.5″ / 14cm of those are insertable. The real highlight for me however, is the adorable bunny character that is all over the insertable length of it. I particularly love that this isn’t just a repeated pattern, but that each bunny has its own little expression. This is a great design, and the sort of thing I would get on pyjamas or bedsheets, so it’s amazing to have it on a vibrator instead! This, combined with the pink and white colour scheme and red base, is exactly my aesthetic. The only downside to the appearance of the toy is the very tip of it, which has a little discoloured dent, and the gold band that separates the base and shaft of the toy, as this also has a few minor flaws.

Packaging

Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny Packaging

My order with Betty’s Toy Box for the Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny was made around the 7th of June and I received it on the 21st of June. The box was 100% discreet, with no mention of what was inside or who the sender was. The packaging for the Sweet Bunny was then very simple, but considering its low price it’s nicer than I thought it would be. Its simple and well designed box, with all the information you could possibly need for the toy displayed on it, highlights the product by presenting it in a plastic clamshell so you know exactly what you’re buying. The product doesn’t come with any accessories, and for those in the US and Canada Blush offers a 90 day warranty.

Batteries

The Sweet Bunny is run by two AA batteries, which are not included. Installing them is easy though, as you just unscrew the base of the toy and place them inside. When doing this, at first I thought the batteries would not fit, but you just really need to force the spring on the base down to screw the cap back on. Battery powered products aren’t ideal and are quite dated these days, but it can be handy to have a few around for when all my rechargeable toys are flat, and considering this is a low budget toy aimed at beginners I don’t mind it.

Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny Battery Compartment

Controls

Controlling the toy is incredibly simple and takes no instructions to learn, as there is no buttons! All you need to do is twist the base of the toy, and the vibrations will turn on. It’s pretty easy to work out which way to turn it as there is very little resistance, but just in case you want to check it does also have a “Low – High” guide printed on the bottom (right next to the “Made in China” text, which is pretty funny but also makes the toy feel a bit cheaper). The vibrations do increase the more you twist the cap, but this increase is very subtle, and if I was to put it into levels then I would say there is only two. But these aren’t the weak vibrations you might expect from a battery-powered toy, and instead actually feel quite strong and deep. Additionally, while they may not be as “whisper-quiet” as the product packaging suggests, this toy is relatively quiet and I would feel safe using it behind a closed door.

My Experience

There are two main ways to use this toy, either on your clitoris externally, or inside your vagina internally (this toy is not for anal play as it has no flared base), which makes it a perfect two-in-one toy for beginners. Personally, I am far more interested in using this externally, as I have far nicer dildos and vibrators that I can use internally. As such, I first tried using it on my clitoris, and I was really pleased to find that I quite enjoy its vibrations. While they are not as strong as some of my other more expensive clitoral vibrators, such as the We-Vibe Tango and Nu Sensuelle Point, it is still enough to stimulate me quite well. I also found the vibrations a lot more rumbly and deep than on other cheap clitoral vibes I own, which was ideal for what my clit likes. Whether I am using the toy alone, paired with an insertable toy, or during PIV sex, I really enjoy it and it gives me good orgasms. My only complaint would be the lack of variety in the vibration intensities, and the fact that my hand can get numb after awhile due to the residual vibrations that travel up the toy.

Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny Tip

Testing the toy internally was also a good experience. As the toy is so thin, no warm up and only a small amount of lube was needed to insert it. Thrusting it inside of me is a pleasant experience, with or without the vibrations, but as expected it is not as stimulating as most of my other internal toys, due to the fact that it lacks any girth, texture, or shape. The vibrations don’t make a massive difference in this regard, but they are a nice addition, and combining them with a good clitoral vibrator means that I am in for a good time. I only have two frustrations about using this toy internally. Firstly, as this toy is made with hard plastic and most clitoral vibes are also made from it, my skin can often get pinched between them during use which is a bit off-putting. Secondly, controlling the vibrations while using the toy in this way can be a harder than usual, as my messy fingers combined with the short length of the toy mean that the base can get various fluids on it, making it a little more difficult to turn.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny is fairly straightforward as it is made from non-porous ABS plastic, but as it is only splashproof you do need to put a bit of care into not getting it too wet. Personally, I just wipe mine down with warm soapy water, rinse it, and then either towel dry it or leave it to air dry. My biggest concern with the cleaning process is that bacteria may hide under the gold bar that separates the shaft from the base. So after using the toy internally a few times I would recommend disassembling it to carefully clean this area with a toothbrush.

Final Thoughts

Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny Base

Overall I have loved testing The Collection Sweet Bunny from Blush Novelties. This toy is special because of its limited edition, and frankly adorable, design. But otherwise I didn’t expect much beyond a cheap novelty vibe aimed at sex toy newbies. Instead, I got a powerful and rumbly vibrator, yet still at its budget-friendly price. This toy is super accessible to beginners, as its battery-operated nature and twist-to-vibrate cap means that no instructions or prior understanding of how vibrators work are needed. Plus, like I mentioned before, it’s essentially a two-in-one toy, as you can use it both internally and externally. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to start on their sex toy journey, but as I have proven, it’s also just a great addition to any toy collection!

Sadly, the Blush Novelties The Collection Sweet Bunny has now been discontinued.

Blush Novelties
Review: Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue

Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue

My favourite new sex toy trend this year, and it seems the entire internet’s, has to be the flicky tongue-like stimulators that appear to keep popping up out of nowhere. It seemed to all start with the Zumio back in 2017, which ZALO then put their spin on by making the moving element more like a silicone tongue. Since then I’ve seen countless other companies implementing this same idea for their own toys, with some going so far as to make the “tongue” literally move back and forth, and others just using vibrations to give the appearance of movement. These sorts of oral-sex imitators aren’t entirely new, but the renewed public interest has certainly been encouraging companies to develop new and exciting tech for it, which seems to go hand in hand with creating even wackier designs than usual. Two toys that have gone viral this year because of their hilarious looking (but also oddly seductive) flapping tongues are the Pipedream Fantasy for Her Ultimate Pleasure and the Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue. So I knew I wouldn’t be doing my duty as a sex toy reviewer if I didn’t try at least one of them before the end of the year, and since Pipedream is on my blacklist, it had to be the Aria Flutter Tongue!

Product Description

Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue Lid On

But seriously, how could I not request the Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue? Despite the prevalence of flicking stimulators (I still haven’t come up with a better name for them yet) this has to be one of the most visually unique I’ve ever seen, if not one of the most visually unique sex toys in general I’ve ever seen. At first it just looks like a cute little Easter egg, with its fun pink and purple design (unfortunately the only colours it comes in) and wavy pattern. So it’s not until you take off its cap that the real fun begins with this toy, as this is where it hides its true nature. Here you’ll find a nozzle that is reminiscent of a suction toy, but where they’ll have an empty hole in the nozzle, this one has a tiny little tongue instead! Able to flick back and forth quickly, the idea with this toy is then that the nozzle can be placed over the clitoris while the tongue does its thing, which should be stimulating and reminiscent of oral sex. While I had seen photos of the Flutter Tongue online before it arrived, I was still somewhat surprised to see just how small this toy really is when I first held it, as with a length of 6.35cm / 2.5″ and width of 3.8cm / 1.5″ I can almost close my entire hand around it. This size combined with how it looks nothing like a sex toy, particularly when its cap is on, work to make it one of the most discreet looking toys I’ve ever tried, which is only hindered slightly by its single button and charging plates. In addition, this toy is made with body-safe silicone and ABS plastic, and while it is USB rechargeable it is sadly only splash-proof.

Packaging

Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue Packaging

My order with SheVibe for the Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue was placed on the 17th of October and I received it on the 30th. Usually the packages I receive from SheVibe are 100% discreet, however this one unfortunately listed them as the sender. The packaging for the toy itself is then cute and simple, just like the product it contains. A primarily white cardboard box with a plastic clamshell window so you can see the product prior to opening, it features the fun and colourful branding of Blush’s Aria collection, as well as all sorts of information on what the toy offers. One thing of note however is that two stickers have been placed on my box to change the toy from being listed as waterproof to splashproof. I’m not sure at which point during the production process Blush noticed that the Flutter Tongue wasn’t fully waterproof, so if you get this toy and do not have an updated box please remember this. The toy can then be easily accessed by pulling the inner box out of its exterior shell, and then removing the plastic. In addition to the toy, only a charging cord and small card directing you to the Blush website for instructions and warranty information are included. I was quite surprised by the lack of physical instructions, as even though it is a fairly simple toy it’s rare for a sex toy to not have at least a small manual, and there were immediately questions I wanted answers to upon receiving the toy that weren’t provided on the box (how long does it take to charge, how many patterns are there etc). A web-based manual wasn’t the end of the world though and does help reduce waste, so I came around to the idea until I actually visited the Blush website and was unable to find any further information on the toy. There is a chance this might be provided upon registering the product on the site, but this involves entering all of your personal information and your purchase receipt, which as a reviewer I do not have. In addition this toy does have a 5 year warranty, however this is only available to those in the US and Canada.

Charging

Charging the Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue is easy as it is USB rechargeable, and as such you can simply connect the one end of the charger to the toy’s magnetic ports (which are thankfully nice and strong so you don’t have to worry about this falling off) and the other end to a USB port. Unfortunately since there aren’t instructions I don’t have any information about how long charging is supposed to take or how long it is supposed to give you when fully charged, although I can note from my own experience that I have only charged the toy once so far and that it has yet to run out of battery despite all my testing with it. I also don’t know what it’s supposed to do to indicate charging, but from my experience it seems that during charging its light flashes, and when finished this light becomes solid.

Controls

Even though this toy only has one button from which it can be controlled with, not having instructions to refer to was still a little frustrating. In fact, my first few uses of it were full of confusion, as the patterns on it aren’t as obvious as I am use to, so when clicking through the functions it just sounds like it’s changing intensity at random. I think I’ve got a good handle on it now though, so here’s how I believe it all works: To turn the toy on first hold the button down, which will place it on its lowest steady speed. You can then click the button again to cycle through the toy’s seven modes, two of which are steady speeds and five of which are patterns, and then finally hold the button down again to turn the toy off. I dislike pattern modes so honestly I was hoping they wouldn’t be featured in this product (as it is just marketed as having “7 different vibration modes”), or at the very least I hoped that there would be more steady speeds than just two, as I usually need at least three to properly enjoy a toy. The thing that made it hard for me to identify the patterns when I first started using this toy however does play in its favour, as because they are more drawn out than usual (rather than the usual constant changes) I find them more enjoyable.

First Impressions

I was super eager to turn this toy on for the first time and I was not disappointed. Watching its little tongue move may be the highlight of my reviewing year, and I even filmed it in slow motion for you lucky folks. Other than the fact that it is obviously very fast it didn’t really tell me much about how it would feel in use though. Then, in regards to noise level, I find the low speed extremely quiet, but then there is a big jump between that and its high speed. Still, it’s not too bad, and when the nozzle is covered it is even quieter, so I think this would be fine to use behind a closed door without anyone being the wiser.

My Experience

Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue Nozzle

My use and opinion of this toy is a bit conflicted. Firstly, when I initially place it over my clitoris it is WAY too much!! In fact the first time I tried to use it I was a bit concerned I wouldn’t be able to complete this review, as the stimulation was just too intense for me. But I’ve found that instead of placing the nozzle directly over my clitoris like I would for a suction toy, I’m better off starting by just placing it near my clitoris while it’s still in its hood, so that I still get stimulation but not in a way that is overwhelming. Then, once I get use to this feeling, I find I am finally ready to place the nozzle on properly and use the toy as intended. This feels great and I thoroughly enjoy it, but it is not long before I am left craving even more stimulation ironically, and the two speeds on the toy are frustratingly not able to provide this. When I get to this point while using the toy I always think things like “I won’t be able to orgasm with this, or if I do it won’t be any good!”. I keep going anyway though because it still feels good, just not good enough. But then every time something magical happens… out of nowhere I have a super intense orgasm! So it seems that even if my mind is telling me this toy isn’t enough, my body has a different opinion. In regards to whether this toy feels like oral sex however, I do not think it does.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue is relatively easy as it is made of silicone, although you do have to be a little careful to not get it too wet or submerge it, as it is only splashproof. Just give the nozzle a wash with some warm water and soap, then leave to dry. After this you can put the cap back on, and this will ensure the nozzle stays clean. In addition, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

Blush Novelties Aria Flutter Tongue Button

Even if I disliked everything about this toy I don’t think I could ever hate such an adorable design, so I’m thankful that I actually quite enjoyed it! The most obvious issue for me was the lack of instructions, as it made my use and understanding of the Aria Flutter Tongue more difficult than it needed to be. However, when I consider the price tag of only $70 AUD / $50 USD, which is very low for a sex toy like this, I can’t really be too mad at something like that. Then, in regards to the stimulation modes, I definitely think a larger range of speeds would have been incredibly beneficial, as a lower speed would have made it easier for me to place on my clit initially, and a higher speed would have made it easier for me to reach orgasm, but again that may be asking too much of a $70 toy. As such, for what it costs I think Blush have done an extremely good job with this and I am very impressed with both its design and stimulation. These new types of toys can often be inaccessible to a lot of people for quite some time due to their high price tags, so creating a budget friendly version is very commendable. Although if they do ever want to release a similar but more expensive toy with extra functions then sign me up!

These…

Review: Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky

Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky

The Avant line by Blush Novelties has been at the top of my wish list for far too long. One of the best bigger brands making dildos and other silicone goods right now, their refined designs matched with eye-catching colours are hard to miss, and as the range has grown over the years so too has my desire to try one. The most popular of the line however has been their Pride (or “P”) range, which are a series of toys featuring the colours of flags relating to some of the more common sexual and gender identities. So, because I’m still in the process of deciding which flags best represent me (and I’d feel strange reviewing something not all my readers may feel is for them), it has put pause on getting one of these toys for myself. But when Blush announced their newest additions to the line last June for Pride, and the absolutely stunning D17 Lucky was part of it, I couldn’t quite resist any longer. Even better then was that despite its release date and resemblance to the bisexual flag (which I do identify with), it isn’t actually intended as part of their Avant Pride range (as denoted by the “D” in its name, presumably for dildo, rather than “P”), making it accessible for everyone.

Product Description

Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky

I fell in love with the Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky the moment I saw it on Betty’s Toy Box, and it is only more beautiful in person. A pastel gradient of blue, purple, and pink gives off a totally magical vibe, and this is further enhanced through the use of glitter that allows the toy to sparkle and shine. With a silky smooth silicone surface and firm yet squishy density, it then feels great to the touch and is a real joy to hold (a few places also refer to it as being dual-density, but it doesn’t really feel like it). Plus, while it may look cute, with a insertable length of 16.5cm / 6.5 inches (20cm / 8 inches in total) and maximum diameter of 3.8cm / 1.5 inches, this is still on the larger size of toys for me. The sleek refined shape definitely helps counteract this however, as while it is fairly phallic with a pronounced head and veins, these features are very subtle, allowing it to remain smooth. Not to mention the initial taper and the fact that the widest point is actually around the middle of the shaft, rather than at the start like usual. A base of white silicone then rests at the very end just after a quick dip in the toy’s girth, and it is here you’ll find the toy’s suction cup, which also ensures it is both anal-safe and harness compatible.

Packaging

Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky Packaging

My order with Betty’s Toy Box for the Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky was placed on the 3rd of June and I received it on the 23rd. The package was fully discreet, with no mention of the sender or the contents, and you can view a video of my unboxing here. Inside I then found the packaging for the D17 Lucky itself, which is as stylish and beautiful as the actual toy. A sturdy box featuring the toy’s pastel colour scheme, a white cover is then placed over this which features a clear window for viewing the item alongside general information about the Avant line and how to care for its products. Overall I love this, but I will say that the box does feel quite large for the toy, although considering the cover isn’t specific to the D17 I suspect this is because Blush use a standardised size across the whole range. In addition, there was also no sort of safety seal or plastic on the box when I received it, which I would have preferred, especially as the white cover is quite loose and slides off very easily, which may also be a concern if you plan to use it for future storage. Finally, all toys in the Blush Avant line do come with a five year warranty, but this is sadly only valid in the US and Canada.

My Experience

I loved the buttery silicone of the Blush Novelties Neo Elite 7.5 Inch, my only other dildo from this brand, and so I was so glad to see this was something that followed through to the D17 Lucky. Despite this though I do still need to warm up prior to use in order to take its girthy middle, and so I have found the Funkit Toys NoFrillDo R and Tantus Pack ‘n Play No.2 perfect for this. Inserting the squishy head is then easy, and while the medium-firm density combined with the above-average width does feel a bit bigger than I am use to, being able to work up to it slowly during play, rather than just having it located at the toy’s head like an initial hurdle I need to get over, is wonderful. Once in, I then find it doesn’t really target my G-Spot or A-Spot, but rather is ideal for thrusting and providing a filling feeling when squeezed around, and combining that with a clitoral vibrator, such as the Dame Kip, is a match made in heaven.

Unexpected Issues

Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky Close Up

The above notes are from my first test. As usual, I then popped it in some water for a quick clean, before washing it over with my bare hands. But that’s when I first noticed something was amiss. It was almost as if the Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky felt… different? Like it had a roughness to its surface that I didn’t recall feeling before. Since I was in a rush however, I quickly dismissed the thought and left the D17 out to dry. A few days later I then returned for its second test, and found my experience with it this time quite different. Suddenly the toy felt scratchy within me, a unpleasant sensation that saw me continually reapplying lubricant to try and fix without success. In the end I gave up, but this time when cleaning it I started to pay much closer attention…

As beautiful as the D17 Lucky’s glitter is, it seems it is also its downfall. You see, whist the glitter does appear to be at varying distances from the toy’s surface, there are more than a few pieces that are so close they can actually be felt, which is the cause of the scratchy feeling I had been experiencing. Worse yet is the fact that some are so close that if you simply run your finger over them, they will come out (!!!), and there has even been times where I have simply pressed my hand over it only for glitter flakes to come off into my palm. Plus, this is also probably why I didn’t notice the glitter being an issue initially, because the more I used and touched the D17, the more they started to come out of it. This is obviously a huge health risk, as glitter is not the sort of thing you want inside of you, and because of this it has also meant that I was sadly unable to continue with my testing.

Suction Cup

Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky Suction Cup

In regards to the suction cup, this isn’t a toy feature I personally make use of, but I have tested it out on a few surfaces around my home and, as with the Blush Novelties Neo Elite 7.5 Inch, it works really well and is one of the best I have tried. Once applied it sticks firmly to surfaces and essentially cannot be removed until the seal is broken, and so I would imagine it is ideal for use during play.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky is easy as it is fully waterproof and doesn’t feature any heavily textured areas where bacteria may hide. Simply place it in some warm soapy water and give it a quick wash and rinse before leaving to air dry. After this you can store it however you want, such as in the box it came with, but I’d recommend using a zip-lock bag to keep it sanitary. In addition to this I’d also suggest sterilising the toy every few uses or when switching between partners or orifices, and you can do this by boiling it for three minutes. Lastly, make sure to only use water-based lubricants with this product, as others may have negative effects on the silicone, and discontinue use if you notice glitter coming off the toy like mine.

Final Thoughts

Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky Head
You can see how some of the glitter looks far too large and clear in this photo.

The Blush Novelties Avant D17 Lucky had so much going for it that a negative review seemed almost impossible. From its magical appearance and sleek design, to its perfect sizing and silky smooth silicone, I knew immediately I was going to love this toy, and honestly giving it a full review felt almost unnecessary. So you can imagine my surprise that not only is this a bad review, but that it is so bad that I wasn’t even able to complete my testing! In over six years of professionally reviewing sex toys, only a select few have caused health concerns enough for me to call off my tests, and I do believe this is the first dildo to achieve such a feat. Plus, while I’d like to imagine this is just a fault specific to my D17 Lucky, since becoming aware of it myself I have noticed more and more people sharing similar experiences with the toy. Overall, it seems the Avant D17 wasn’t so “Lucky” after all, as at this point I am unable to recommend it. However, I do sincerely hope Blush are able to resolve this issue quickly, as it would otherwise be a wonderful toy.

Updates

[3/9/21] After publishing my review Blush reached out to me directly. They let me know how much they appreciated my feedback and that they’re taking the issues myself and others have highlighted with the toy’s glitter very seriously. Alongside their factory team they are working hard to fix the Avant D17 Lucky and get it up to standard. In the meantime, however, they have assured me that the material and glitter used in this toy is safe and non-toxic. Blush also let me know they’ll be making overall improvements to their product development, production and quality control procedures to make sure something like this doesn’t occur again.

Review: Womanizer DUO – Princess Previews

Womanizer DUO

It’s no secret that the last few months have been quite difficult, and if I’m being completely honest… I’m still not ready to accept that it’s no longer March. But there are a few things in my life that I’ve been able to turn to during the worst moments to feel a little bit of happiness, and some of those things have been sex toys. Three products in particular have been brightening my mood lately, with each lending itself to different situations. There is the Magic Wand Rechargeable, which works either solo or with my partner as an easy way to achieve a quick but satisfying orgasm, the Dame Kip, which helps me to have some amazing orgasms during PIV sex with my partner, and lastly the Womanizer Premium, a truly breathtaking solo-play toy which has quickly become my personal favourite. In fact, whilst it’s only been a few months since I originally reviewed the Premium, it feels like forever, and I think I’ve already had more orgasms with this toy than most people do in a lifetime. So, when Womanizer recently reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try their DUO, which is essentially an upgraded version of the Premium, it was just about the best thing that’s happened to me in months.

Background

As Womanizer’s most expensive product, the DUO has certainly caught my eye a few times since I started reviewing their products last year. A successor to the Womanizer InsideOut, which saw the brand first attempt to pair their signature suction technology with vibrations, the DUO takes the same concept but improves upon it with the knowledge they gained when they partnered with We-Vibe. Taking notes from the rumbly motors this legendary brand is known for, as well as the much-loved shape of their Nova vibrator, the Womanizer DUO is as much as a We-Vibe toy as the We-Vibe Melt is a Womanizer toy. As such, I had multiple reasons to be excited for this product, especially since my last (and only) review on a dual-stimulation suction toy didn’t go so well. But where the Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit went wrong, I feel the Womanizer DUO excels, with an entirely different design that seems far more promising.

Product Description

Womanizer DUO

The Womanizer DUO, like the Premium, is a toy that embodies luxury. Its sleek and ergonomic body is a pleasure just to look at, and that’s before you even begin to feel the soft and silky silicone that covers it entirely. Currently only available in two colour options, Black Gold (which is what I have) and Bordeaux (fancy red), I do hope that it gets the same treatment as the Premium and is re-released in a wider range of colours soon. Featuring six buttons, five being on the front and one being on the back, the DUO also has a Womanizer logo etched into the silicone at its very top, and this is located right next to the magnetic charging plates. A small strip of gold plastic that surrounds the logo, charging area and back button, then helps to further emphasis the relation between this toy and the Premium, which has a similar feature. The actual body of the DUO is then quite large, and this is broken up by the long curved internal arm, which ends in a bulbous but tapered head for ultimate G-Spot stimulation whilst still keeping insertion easy. While firm in some areas, such as the head, I was glad to find that the G-Spot arm does have some areas of squish, particularly around its middle, as well as some flexibility. Then, as for the suction area, this toy features a removal silicone nozzle, and an alternative size is also included, similar to what was provided with the Premium. On that note, another familiar feature that I was delighted to see on the DUO is Smart Silence, a newer concept that I’ve absolutely loved on both the Premium and We-Vibe Wand. Finally, as with all good sex toys this product is also USB rechargeable, fully waterproof, and body-safe.

Packaging

Womanizer DUO Box

Womanizer sent the DUO out to me for review personally so I won’t go into the shipping details. The packaging for the product was then quite similar to the Premium’s, although whereas the box for that was quite elaborate with multiple magnetic doors, this is a fair bit more simple. While still very indulgent, this box is more traditional and the contents can just be pulled out to the side without any kind of flair. As with the Premium the box colour palette then relates to the colour option you have chosen for the toy, whilst a clear window allows you to see the product prior to opening. Information about the DUO then covers the rest of the box, and the use of raised gold text and a ribbon handle help to further emphasis the luxury element, whilst carefully placed security seals allow you feel secure in the knowledge that no one has tampered with the product. Inside you’ll then find the DUO itself, alongside a bulky instruction manual, charging cord, extra nozzle, and storage bag (which I must note is one of the most unique I’ve ever seen, as not only does it feature a little Womanizer key-chain, but it also has some sort of whip-like leather tassel attached to it!). Overall I am happy with this box, but I can’t help but feel it is a bit of a let down after the Premium’s, especially considering this is the more expensive product of the two. In addition the DUO also comes with Womanizer’s 30 Day Orgasm Guarantee and a 2 year warranty.

Charging

Charging the Womanizer DUO is easy as it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end into a USB port and then connect the other end with the magnetic plates on the toy. While I didn’t have any issues with the connection strength of the magnets on the Premium, I do find them a little trickier to make stay put on the DUO, however this is likely more to do with the awkward shape of the DUO than anything else. The next thing I noticed was that no information on charging is included in the DUO’s instruction manual, which is surprising considering the size of it, however there is a more comprehensive manual on their website. This lists the DUO as taking 2 hours to charge, which will give you up to 4 hours of run time, however on their website and others the DUO is listed as having 2 hours of run time, so I’m not sure which is correct (but mine has yet to run out of charge). When charging a light will then flash inside the suction nozzle (it took me some time to work this out as it’s hard to see and again not mentioned in the included instructions), and when charging is complete this light will become solid. In addition, Womanizer recommend charging the toy before first use and it’s also worth noting that the charging cord features the brand’s logo, which I love as it makes it easy to identify.

Womanizer DUO Charging

Controls

The Womanizer DUO has six buttons, which might just be a new record, but despite this they are actually fairly easy to use. In fact, the first time I used the toy I didn’t even need to check the instructions. This is due to the fact that the buttons are labelled really well, making identifying them a piece of cake. On the back of the toy there is a single button, which is clearly marked as the power button, whilst on the front there are four buttons grouped in pairs, and a secondary solo button a bit further away. The first pair of buttons control the suction, as is indicated by a symbol with rings of increasing sizes, whilst the second pair control the vibrations, as is indicated by a symbol with motion lines around it. Both secondary buttons then features a minus logo, and as you’d imagine this lets you decrease the suction or vibrations. The final button is the least obvious, as this just features some dots in a diamond shape, and it turns out this is what controls the vibration patterns. So, to turn the toy on or off just press the power button, and success will be indicated by the light within the suction nozzle turning on. This will also put the suction and vibrations on their lowest levels, and you can then increase or decrease both independently using their buttons, including turning one or both off entirely. Each has 12 levels of intensity, and at any point you can also click the pattern button to flick through 10 additional modes, all of which are also compatible with the intensity levels. When done you can either press the power button again or hold down the vibration minus button for two seconds to put the toy into stand-by mode (which I don’t really see the purpose of), and just in case you forget about this the toy will automatically turn itself off after 10 minutes of disuse, or 5 minutes if the battery is low. Additionally, to turn Smart Silence off you can hold down the two suction control buttons for two seconds.

Smart Silence

This is my third product that features WOW Tech’s still novel Smart Silence, and as usual I absolutely love it. For those who are hearing about it for the first time though, basically it means that the motors in this toy will only run whilst the suction nozzle is in contact with your skin, regardless of whether the toy is on or not, completely eliminating any unwanted noise when the product is not in use. If you happen to use the DUO without the Smart Silence activated however, then I can report that whilst the vibrations are whisper quiet, the suction noise is at the louder end of my suction toy collection. Once a seal is made around the suction nozzle though the volume is significantly reduced, making it even quieter than the Premium and in general just a really quiet toy.

First Impressions

Turning the Womanizer DUO on for the first time, it was clear that this toy is a force to be reckoned with. The suction strength is immense, and while it was initially hard to tell where it stood next to the Premium, I definitely knew I was going to be in for a treat. As for the vibrations these were similarly powerful, and while I don’t have any internal We-Vibe products to compare them to, they certainly have that trademark rumble that is so key to their products. Easily superior to my other suction dual-stimulation toy, the Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit, as well as one of my favourite G-Spot vibrators, the Paloqueth G-Spot Vibrator, I find the deep vibrations provided by the DUO more on par to the legendary L’amourose Prism V, and I couldn’t be more pleased with them.

Womanizer DUO

As for the suction nozzles, these are quite firm and don’t provide a lot of comfort, and so may not be the best option for those with a sensitive clitoris. They do, however, come in two sizes, and I was actually quite surprised by the difference between them. My only other experience with receiving an alternatively sized nozzle was with the Premium, and they both looked so similar that it took me ages to figure out the difference. In the end I realised that it was the length of the nozzle’s hole, rather than the width, that was different, making it suitable for people with longer clits. The DUO’s alternative nozzle takes a different approach however, featuring a much wider opening that eventually tapers down. I much prefer this, as I feel having these two very different nozzles is going to suit a far wider range of people than the Premium’s could, whilst also catering for those with wider or larger clits.

My Experience

Dual-stimulation vibrators can be a hit-or-miss for everyone, but even more so for me, as my difficult to reach G-Spot means that the majority of G-Spot toys I try simply don’t work. This usually puts me off trying dual stimulation toys entirely, but when I first saw the Womanizer DUO’s shape, which is so similar to one of my all time favourite vibrators, the SenseVibe SenseMax Warm (which uses a far more versatile design than traditional rabbit vibrators), I immediately knew it had potential. So when I first inserted it inside of myself (which required no warm up thanks to the small size) and it instantly sat in place right over my G-Spot, I couldn’t have been happier. In fact, before I even turn the DUO on I already start to get sensations reminiscent of toys like the Njoy Pure Wand and Jopen Key Comet Wand due to how well it is able to stimulate my G-Spot, and things only keep getting better from then onward. The G-Spot vibrations in this toy are fantastic, and while they can’t compete with a toy like the L’amourose Prism V or the SenseMax SenseVibe Warm, I do find them a lot more pleasurable than the buzzy vibes of the Paloqueth G-Spot Vibrator. As great as they are though, the real party doesn’t start until I place the suction nozzle down on my clitoris. First off, the suction abilities of the DUO are absolutely phenomenal, and are easily on par, if not better, than the Womanizer Premium. They are deep, rumbly, and thuddy, and just simply give me some of the best orgasms of my life. But combining them with such fantastic G-Spot stimulation? It just straight up takes what was already my favourite form of stimulation and adds a completely different dimension to it, and I couldn’t be more serious when I say that this is the best sex toy I have ever tried.

I could go on and on about how amazing the DUO is and the immense amount of pleasure it gives me, but for all of our sakes I’ve tried my best to keep it brief. I did, however, want to go over a few other notes about my use of the toy before wrapping up this review. Firstly, I am amazed at just how well the DUO works hands-free. In fact, I would say it’s easily the best hands-free toy I’ve ever used. Once in place it just sits there perfectly, and I don’t even need to close my legs around it. This is particularly impressive for a clitoral stimulation toy, as maintaining a tight seal in order for the suction to work can often be tricky even when holding it. The only downside is that this does leave me wishing the DUO had the same Autopilot feature as the Premium, since that would then truly make this toy hands-free. Next, I wanted to touch on how much I love the quick one-click power button of the DUO. Very often I will turn toys on and off during use, whether I’m edging or taking a break in between orgasms, and this can be so frustrating when they need a few seconds to turn on and off, so props to Womanizer for making this easy. Lastly, as much as I loved the idea of the larger sized nozzle for people who need it, it definitely wasn’t for me as I found it made the suction a lot less intense. This made me realise, however, that this might also be a brilliant option for anyone who is sensitive to clitoral stimulation.

Cleaning & Care

Womanizer DUO Accessories

Cleaning the Womanizer DUO is easy. Just remove the silicone head, wash it in warm soapy water and rinse. You can then do the same with the body of the toy in order to clean the insertable arm as this is waterproof. Then leave these to air dry and reassemble, which is very easy since the nozzle on the DUO has a small circle to indicate which way up it is supposed to be placed. Once dry you can then return the toy to its storage bag. Since the DUO is made out of silicone ensure you don’t use silicone based lubricant with it. Furthermore, I have found prolonged use of the toy can make my clitoris quite sore the next day, so I wouldn’t recommend using it excessively if you are planning on having any rigorous sex or further masturbation within the next 24 hours.

Final Thoughts

One of the main taglines that Womanizer have been using for the DUO is “Feel Complete”. Personally I hate this, and I think it’s gross to suggest that any object, particularly a sex toy, is needed to make someone feel complete. But I’ve got to admit that the DUO really does give off a sense of fullness, as if you truly are made “complete” when using it. This is because it fits so perfectly with my anatomy that it almost feels like an extension of my body, and the added experience of pleasure means that when I remove it I really do feel a sense of loss. Not to mention that the pleasure it gives is some of the best I’ve ever experienced in my life, and easily the best I’ve ever had from just one sex toy. I truly cannot recommend this toy more, however it does have one major downside, and that is its price tag. With a cost that will set you back around $300 AUD, this is one of the most expensive sex toys I’ve ever tried, and certainly the most expensive suction toy. As such, it’s probably not going to be your first, so if you’re really keen on the idea of it then I can’t deny that the Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit, which is over $200 less, is still a good option. But for anyone who can afford it and knows that dual stimulation and suction toys are for them, then you would truly be doing yourself a disservice by not getting the Womanizer DUO.

Updates

[13/05/23] Two years after publishing this review, the DUO started slowly malfunctioning, to the point where around the three year mark it no longer turns on or charges. Considering the price tag, I was not happy. Thankfully Womanizer offered to send a replacement (despite it no longer being covered by their warranty, and I don’t get the impression this is because I am a reviewer), and this model is also now being phased out with the release of the Womanizer DUO 2, which hopefully addresses whatever went wrong here.

The Womanizer DUO has now been discontinued to make way for the upgraded Womanizer DUO 2.

But it can still be found at select stores, while stocks last!

There is the Magic Wand Rechargeable, which works either solo or with my partner as an easy way…

Review: Womanizer Liberty – Princess Previews

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but my only two reviews of Womanizer’s core products so far have been of their most expensive items. As great as this has been (in a best orgasms of my life” kinda way), I worry it has given me a false sense of how good their products really are, and it’s also been hard to recommend such pricey items to people, especially when I know full well that without this blog I wouldn’t be able to afford them either. So, it’s because of this that lately I’ve been eyeing the rest of Womanizer’s somewhat small range, particularly their most affordable offerings (which are still really mid-range in terms of price) the Starlet 2 and Liberty. I wasn’t fully set on which I’d prefer, but whilst in the process of finding a company to partner with for the review, something major happened. Womanizer announced they’d teamed up legendary singer Lily Allen to bring out a very special edition of the Liberty… and that’s when I knew I had to have it.

The Sender

Once I’d finished freaking out over how beautiful this toy is and mucking around with its official Instagram Filter, I set my attention to actually getting one. In the end it was For Her Box who agreed to send it out to me, and since this is my first time working with them at the blog I think some introductions are in order! An online retailer based in Brisbane, Australia, For Her Box is solely owned and operated by the wonderful Nik! Since 2016 she has been carefully testing and curating the items she stocks, and the result is a store that puts the emphasis in quality over quantity. Stocking some of the biggest brands around, such as Satisfyer, Womanizer and Fun Factory, as well as harder to get names, like Doxy and ZALO, the majority of items are then body-safe, however do be cautious of the few that aren’t when browsing, particularly within the dildo section. Then, rather than leaving you to browse the overwhelming possibilities, Nik has also shortlisted six of her favourite items from all the major categories, making choosing what to buy easier than ever. Plus, she has also developed a range of gift box-style options, allowing you to pick between “exposed” boxes, where you’ll know what you’ll be getting, and mystery boxes, where all you know is what type of stimulation the items will provide. Shipping Australia-wide in discreet packaging, For Her Box offers a flat-rate of $9.95 for postage or free shipping on overs of over $300, and even provide a free samples with every order.

Product Description

The Womanizer Liberty by Lily Allen is really just the OG Liberty with a fresh coat of paint, but boooy does it look good. The bright pink mixed with an orange-red is exactly the type of bold colours I enjoy, and it has been such a refreshing addition to my toy box. Thankfully though it doesn’t actually cost any more than the regular Liberty, which is great considering companies raising the price of a product just because of a colour change isn’t exactly uncommon. As for the Liberty itself, this has been designed to be Womanizer’s travel-friendly offering, a fact that is readily apparent online due to its fitted magnetic cover, but even more so when you see it in person and realise just how small this thing is. With a length of 10cm / 4 inches, this looks more like a fake key-chain version of a sex toy than an actual one, and I was genuinely shocked when I first saw it. Even now it still looks completely out-of-place when near my other suction toys, although I do appreciate how it fits neatly into the palm of my hand. Almost half of the Liberty’s size is then taken up by its white silicone suction nozzle, which is removable for easy cleaning and so you can switch it out with the included alternate size, whilst the other half features its two buttons. On the back is then the Womanizer lettermark rather than their full logo to keep things discreet, as well as the magnetic charging prongs for the toy’s USB charger. In addition, the Liberty is also fully waterproof and comes in four other non-limited edition colours: lilac, pink rose, powder blue and red wine.

Packaging

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen Packaging

My order for the Womanizer Liberty by Lily Allen was placed with For Her Box on the 9th of November and I received it promptly on the 17th. The box was fully discreet, with no mention of the sender or contents. Opening it up I then found the item beautifully gift-wrapped, and included was a sample packet of lubricant and a thank you card offering a discount on future purchases and care instructions, which were all massively appreciated touches and one of the things I love about shopping at small businesses. The box for the Liberty itself then takes full advantage of the special edition’s celebrity connection, featuring pictures of Lily Allen more prominently than the actual toy, as well as her signature on both the front and back of the box. This initial sleeve, which does provide a few pieces of information about the product, can then be removed to reveal a much more toy-focused box underneath that also features a clear window so you may see the Liberty prior to opening. Both the sleeve and box then use the same bright colour scheme as the toy, which looks absolutely fabulous and really stands out. Once the safety seals have been removed you can slide out the inner compartment using the ribbon handle, which gives you access to the toy as well as its accessories. This includes a “quick-start user guide” (although despite the name it is one of the thickest instruction manuals I’ve ever received, mostly due to it covering so many languages. The full version can be found here), a small card encouraging you to post about the toy on social media, the charging cord, an alternative suction nozzle, and a high-quality branded storage bag.

Charging

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen Charging

Charging the Womanizer Liberty by Lily Allen is easy as it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and then the other end can be connected magnetically to the toy, which thankfully has one of the strongest attachment strengths I’ve encountered. While charging a light inside the suction nozzle will flash, and when complete this will remain solid. Charging should then take about one hour, and this will give you around 120 minutes of play time. Plus, when the Liberty is almost out of battery, it will let you know by flashing its light while on. In addition, Womanizer recommend charging the toy before first use, and it’s also worth noting that the charging cord features the brand’s logo, which I love as it makes it easy to identify.

Controls

With only two buttons and no special features or pattern modes, controlling the Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen couldn’t be easier. To turn it on just hold down the plus button for two seconds, which will put the toy on its lowest suction intensity and turn on the light within its nozzle. You can then continue clicking the plus button to increase the product’s intensity by 6 levels, or use the minus button to lower them again, and when done you just need to hold down the plus button for two more seconds. Overall I am happy with all of this and love the simplicity, although it does fall into an issue I usually have with Satisfyer’s suction toys, in that I frequently find myself turning the toy off during use by accidentally holding down the plus button after increasing the speed, and so personally I would prefer it if the minus button turned it off instead. But really this is just me being a nit-picky reviewer. Also of note is that six speeds is a lot less than I have grown accustom to from suction toys (with the Womanizer Premium and DUO both having 12, for example), but this is still more than most vibrators offer.

Travel Case

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen in Case

In regards to the Liberty’s case, this has clearly been well considered as it works brilliantly. The two pieces fit together perfectly, whilst the magnets ensure they stick. When it comes to these sorts of things there is a fine line between having the magnets be strong enough so that the case doesn’t fall off, while still being weak enough for the case to be lifted without any resistance, and I feel Womanizer have balanced this superbly. As for it being discreet I do feel this works well, easily being mistaken for a make-up or menstrual product case, although the bright pink obviously makes it very eye-catching. So for those who really care about this being used for travel or privacy perhaps one of the regular colours would be better, as these are still beautiful but otherwise far more muted.

First Impressions

Not only is the Liberty my cheapest core Womanizer toy by far ($100 less than my second cheapest, the Premium), but it is also really small, so to say I was concerned about its power levels is an understatement. I mean, I wasn’t expecting it to be able to compete with Womanizer’s higher-budget toys, but being so accustomed to stimulation from toys like the Premium left me worried about how a toy less than half its size and price could compare at all. As soon as I turned it on however it was obvious my worries were unfounded, because this little toy can bring it! Plus, it is also incredibly low-volume despite its clear power, easily being my quietest Womanizer so far, and it’d even beat out my Satisfyers too if it wasn’t for the Pro Penguin. As for the interchangeable suction nozzles, these remind me more of the type that was included with the Premium than with the DUO, as rather than having an alternatively sized hole it instead varies their length. This means that people who have a longer clitoris will be covered, as well as those who prefer more pin-point stimulation.

My Experience

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen and Womanizer Premium
The Liberty with my current favourite suction toy, the Womanizer Premium.

I’ve been almost inseparable from my Womanizer Premium since I got it. So switching to the tiny Liberty felt quite strange, and I was just hoping for something good enough to be able to recommend to people looking for a cheaper option. But instead I’ve found myself slowly falling in love with this toy and its deep, powerful suction abilities. It seems that while Womanizer have sacrificed a number of their more luxury features, such as Smart Silence, to reduce the price of the Liberty, their breathtaking clitoral stimulation technology was not one of them, because this toy easily competes with some of the best suction toys I have tried. As a result, the most noticeable difference between using this and other products is the Liberty’s unusually small range of intensities, which not only gives you less of a build up but also means that it ultimately doesn’t reach the same heights as a toy like the Premium. In fact, if I was going to compare the Liberty’s suction to that toy’s 12 settings then I would say it feels most like levels 3 to 9, as it doesn’t start as low but also doesn’t get as high. But make no mistake, the Liberty still feels absolutely amazing and gives me some ridiculously good orgasms, and I actually prefer the smaller size compared to the Premium, which now feels almost bulky. I would even go so far as to say that the Liberty is on par, if not better, than the We-Vibe Melt and Satisfyer Luxury, which are the leading products from the other major players in the suction world. This is because while these toys have a more intense suction, the Liberty has a better thuddy-feeling (a sensation similar to if someone were to tap on your suction toy during use that Womanizer has been excelling at lately), and out of the two sensations I prefer the thuddyness. Then, in regards to the different nozzles, I didn’t really feel a massive difference between the two, but ultimately I prefer the smaller option as it feels just slightly more intense for me. Finally, also worth mentioning is the toy’s nozzle-based light, which I found really helpful when locating my clit just prior to use.

Cleaning & Care

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen Nozzles and Case

Cleaning the Liberty is easy. Just remove the silicone head, wash it in warm soapy water, and rinse. If the body of the toy is dirty too then the whole thing can be washed in the water as well since it is waterproof. Then leave these to air dry and reassemble, which is very easy since the nozzle has a small circle on it to indicate which way up it is supposed to be placed. Once dry you can then return the toy to its storage bag or just cover it with its magnetic case. Since the Liberty’s nozzle is made out of silicone ensure you don’t use silicone based lubricant with it. Furthermore, I have found prolonged use of the toy can make my clitoris quite sore the next day, so I wouldn’t recommend using it excessively if you are planning on having any rigorous sex or further masturbation within the next 24 hours.

Final Thoughts

The Womanizer Liberty is marketed as the perfect suction toy for travelling, and that it is. Its size and cover keeps it away from prying eyes, while its quiet suction ensures no one will hear it. What I did not expect from one of Womanizer’s cheapest offerings, however, was a toy that can easily compete with the best of what We-Vibe and Satisfyer have produced. I went into this review honestly just excited about the bold colours and the collaboration with one of my favourite singers, but I’m leaving it with an unexpected new favourite. While the Liberty by Lily Allen doesn’t quite compare to the Womanizer DUO or Premium, considering it’s over $100 less I didn’t expect it to. But the difference between these three toys does not feel like $100, as I could happily use the Liberty in place of the Premium, and I will be when I start travelling again (whenever that is). Plus, this means that for all the people out there eager to try a Womanizer but understandably put off by the high prices of the toys I’ve reviewed from them in the past, I finally have a cheaper option that not only can I vouch for, but that I can recommend wholeheartedly with the knowledge that you’re still going to be getting something really good.

You can get the Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen for just $149.95 AUD at Lovehoney Australia or $99.99 USD at Lovehoney US, plus use my code HONEYX10 to get 10% OFF your total order!

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but my only two reviews of Womanizer’s core products so far have been of their most expensive items. As great as this has been (in a “best orgasms of my life” kinda way), I worry it has given me a false sense of how good their products really are, and it’s also been hard to recommend such pricey items to people, especially when I know full well that without this blog I wouldn’t be able to afford them either. So, it’s because of this that lately I’ve been eyeing the rest of Womanizer’s somewhat…

Womanizer
Review: Womanizer Premium 2 – Princess Previews

Womanizer Premium 2

Unlike most other major toy manufacturers, luxury clitoral stimulator brand Womanizer only offers a small catalogue of products. The five core designs, whose differences mostly relate to their increasing price tags, are the Starlet, Liberty, Classic, Premium and DUO, and while I have tried all of them, I have reviewed only three so far. Without a doubt, however, my favourite is the Womanizer Premium. In fact, it’s not just my favourite Womanizer, but my favourite suction toy in general, and my second favourite toy of all time (just behind the Magic Wand Rechargeable). So when I heard the German brand was upgrading three of their designs and the Premium was one of them, I was all in. Keeping it simple with the addition of a quick version number, the new models are the Starlet 3, Classic 2, and Premium 2, with their older versions since being discontinued (although there is still plenty around to buy and with most stores offering them at a discount!). As for the differences, in addition to new colours and updated branding (including more sustainable packaging!), Womanizer have also up the ante with their suction levels, which suggests updates for the Liberty and DUO might not be far away either.

Product Description

Womanizer Premium 2 Buttons
My Womanizer Premium 2 alongside my original Womanizer Premium.

While the Womanizer Premium 2 is certainly a toy in its own right, I wouldn’t usually write an entirely new review just to cover a few updates. But since I love its predecessor so much, I just couldn’t resist when Lovehoney contacted me about reviewing it recently. Between the two toys, the most obvious difference is the colour. While classic Black and the more recent updates of Raspberry and Blueberry (the colour of my original version) are still available, the Premium 2 has updated the previous Red and White for Bordeaux and Warm Gray, which, in addition to sounding a lot more fancy, gives a slightly darker and more luxurious feel. While Blueberry is still my personal favourite, however, I decided to go with Bordeaux for my newer version to ensure I could tell them apart, and I do love the gold accent that goes with it (the only other colour this comes with is Black). Outside of this, though, the appearance of the Premium is exactly the same as before. As for its features, everything that made the original great remains, such as the brand’s signature Smart Silence, while updates to the suction intensities and Autopilot mode help take it to the next level. Finally, as with all core Womanizer products, the Premium 2 is fully waterproof, body-safe, and USB rechargeable.

Packaging

Womanizer Premium 2 Packaging

My order with Lovehoney for the Womanizer Premium 2 was placed on the 14th of January and I received it promptly on the 19th. As usual the box was 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside. While I have reviewed a fair few Womanizer toys at this point, this is my first one that uses their new branding, and I adore it. Finally renouncing their dreadful cursive logo and occasionally cringey graphics, Womanizer’s new look is clean and minimal, and uses a circle as their key visual. This is out in full force on the Premium 2’s packaging, which uses a red colour scheme to match the toy, although the box is otherwise pretty much the same as before. I loved everything about this previously, so am happy to see it remains, and I am also glad to see Womanizer clearly advertising the changes and what’s new with this version. Once the safety seals are cut, you can then open it up to access the toy, as well as its two instruction manuals (with the main one being much smaller than before since the full instructions are now available online), charging cord, storage bag (this is very different, switching from a typical satin bag to one made out of organic cotton that reads “Go. Love yourself!”), and an alternative smaller suction nozzle (which is now packaged in a great paper bag that reads “Every body is unique”, with pictures of diverse vulvas on it). According to Womanizer, this packaging uses 41% less plastic, which certainly shows. Although strangely there are some differences to what I received versus what is shown on their website, with my storage bag featuring the old logo and my safety instructions looking completely different. Plus, Womanizer’s iconic “#I Masturbate” business card is missing entirely. Overall, I am happy with the packaging and accessories of the Premium 2, and it really shows that companies can reduce their environmental impact without hindering quality. However, considering the cost, they should perhaps put a little more care into making sure all of the additions are up-to-date and actually included, as despite it not having an effect on the actual product, I would probably be a little annoyed if I had paid for this. In addition, the Womanizer Premium 2 also comes with a five year warranty (as do all Womanizer products now, an upgrade from their previous two year!).

Charging

Womanizer Premium 2 Charging

The charging process of the Womanizer Premium 2 has been kept exactly the same, which is great. It’s USB rechargeable, with the cord displaying the Womanizer logo for easy identification. Despite being magnetic, the two connect really well, and charging should then take two hours to give you four hours of play, which Womanizer recommend doing before first use. Plus, to determine where your toy is at with its charge, you can check the LED display on it, which will show one light when the toy is nearly discharged, two lights when the toy is half charged, and all three lights when the toy is fully charged.

Controls

Controlling the Womanizer Premium 2 is much the same as before, asides from the fact that there is two new suction intensities and an updated Autopilot. To turn the toy on, simply hold the power button down for two seconds, which will put the toy on its lowest steady speed (don’t forget that the Smart Silence means it will only activate when the nozzle is actually touched though). You can then use the plus and minus buttons to increase and decrease the toy through its 14 suction intensities, and to turn off (or back on) the Smart Silence you can hold these two buttons down for two seconds. Finally, to turn the toy off, you can hold down the power button again. As for the Autopilot 2.0, this can now be turned on by holding down the wave button for two seconds, with success being indicated by the LED lights pulsating and Premium 2 making a noise with its suction. Starting on soft mode (levels 1-6), you can then press the button again to get to medium mode (levels 6-11), intense mode (levels 9-14), and back again. As before the LED lights will let you know which mode you’re on, although the courses have all been tweaked slightly, for instance the intensities increase faster and drops in intensity don’t exceed more than three levels. Intros have also been added, so that the medium and intense modes have a 25 second ramp up, although this is skipped if the device has been on for more than 2 minutes already, whilst Womanizer state that the Autopilot reaches its peak after five to eight minutes.

[UPDATE: 14/09/22] An additional change, which has left some people concerned their Premium 2 is faulty, is an “improved” auto power off. While the Premium would simply turn off if left in stand-by mode (so with the Smart Silence on, indicating it is not in use) for five minutes to help conserve battery, the Premium 2 will instead turn off after ten minutes if no buttons are pressed, regardless of whether or not the Smart Silence is activated. This means that if you’re using the toy and don’t change the intensity level for ten minutes, it will simply shut off. While it’s not an issue I’ve run into personally, since I typically use suction toys in short bursts, I can definitely understand the frustration a lot of people have felt with this, especially since the update is not clearly mentioned. My advice would just be to remember to press the plus or minus button every now and then to circumvent this, although hopefully Womanizer go back to the original version if they decide to release a Premium 3.

Smart Silence

The Smart Silence on the Womanizer Premium 2 also functions the same, and as usual I am a big fan of it. Making sure the toy runs when it needs to be, and is silent when it doesn’t, is ideal, and allows using it to be much more relaxed and discreet. As for the noise level, I ranked the original to be around the middle out of all of the other suction toys I’ve tried, and the Premium 2 is very similar. Being slightly quieter on its lowest speed and slightly louder on its highest (although quieter in both regards when a seal is made), I’d say these changes mostly just reflect the adjustments to the 2’s power levels. Although one thing I also noticed is that the type of sound coming out of the two toys is different, with the original being higher-pitched and rattly, and the 2 being deep and smooth, which may be the result of the age of my original toy. Overall though, even though the Premium 2 is not the quietest suction toy I own, the Smart Silence again makes up for this.

First Impressions

Womanizer Premium 2 Accessories

When I use a wand massager, like the Magic Wand Rechargeable, I typically find the highest strength too much and stick to the lower speeds. But when I use suction toys, I am always craving more and click away at the intensity button even when I know I’ve reached the end. So when I heard they were adding two new levels to the Premium 2, making it the most powerful Womanizer toy yet, I was beyond excited. Turning it on for the first time, this claim indeed seems to be true, with its suction creating more of a seal when tested on my finger. As for the nozzles, the same superb designs from the original Premium return, as the 2 comes with two sizes (Small & Medium) that alternate in length rather than width. Plus, a further Large head can be purchased directly from the Womanizer website, if you’d like something even bigger.

My Experience

Imagine if your favourite vibrator was suddenly stronger. That’s exactly how it feels using the Womanizer Premium 2. Since the design and main controls remain the same, everything about it feels as if I am using the original, until I turn the power on. While it’s not an obvious difference at first, asides from the reduction in noise level, as I increase the intensities I eventually reach a point where I know in my mind that I’ve hit the end. Except… I haven’t! I keep clicking, and every time I think it can’t possibly go any higher, it does, until I eventually reach that wonderful 14th setting. With this, not only would I say it’s stronger than the original Premium, but more so than the We-Vibe Melt as well, which I had until now considered my most powerful suction toy. As for the transitions between levels, I also find these smoother, as is the feel of the suction compared to the OG Premium, which is again a tad rattly. Unlike the original though, I have a strong preference for the Medium nozzle, as I not only favour how the suction feels with it on, but I also find it far easier to apply. Then, in regards to the Autopilot, I definitely prefer how this works to the previous version, although I’m still not really convinced it’s for me. Not only do I like to be in control, but I simply orgasm way too quickly to feel like it’s worth it. Still, it is certainly fun when I’m after something different, and always a bit of a challenge to see how long I can last!

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Womanizer Premium 2 is easy. Simply remove the silicone head, wash it in warm soapy water, and rinse. If the body of the toy is dirty too then the whole thing can be placed and washed in the water as well since it is waterproof. Then leave these to air dry and reassemble, before returning to the storage bag. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with it, as it may react badly to the silicone the toy is made with.

Final Thoughts

Womanizer Premium 2

It might seem obvious that I would love a sex toy that is effectively an upgraded version of one of my all time favourites. But it wasn’t that long ago that I was reviewing the We-Vibe Tango X, the revised edition of my favourite bullet vibrator, and had some less than positive things to say. The problem with that toy, however, was that We-Vibe took the things I loved most about the Tango, such as its single button controls and compatibility with attachments, and changed them. But with the Womanizer Premium 2, they have simply taken what they already had and refined it. Not only does this allow the Premium 2 to improve upon its popular Autopilot feature, making it much more intuitive, but its ability to be quieter yet more powerful is an absolute triumph, and sure enough I will be using this from now on over my original model. Plus, the best bit is that even though this toy is superior to its predecessor, Womanizer have kept the price consistent so that getting this won’t cost you any more than it would have done before.

You can get the Womanizer Premium 2 for just $299.95 AUD at Lovehoney Australia or $199.99 USD at Lovehoney US, plus use my code HONEYX10 to get 10% OFF your total order!
