Review: Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini – Princess Previews

Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini

At Sexpo this year I was on the look out for the best from Australia’s retailers and manufacturers. You can read more about what I came across in my wrap-up post of the event, but some of the toys that piqued my interest the most were over at the Cloudnine Adult Concepts stand. On show they had their two flagship creations, the Hummingbird and Hummingbird Mini. Why did these interest me so much? Because I love wand massagers, and seeing one had been created by an Australian manufacturer filled me with joy. I was also incredibly pleased to see that these had been made with 100% body safe silicone and trying them out at the show they seemed quite sturdy and had some reasonable vibrations. Getting home from the convention I emailed Cloudnine to let them know of my support and they were kind enough to email back offering to let me review their Hummingbird Mini, as well as three wand attachments for it.

Product Description

The Hummingbird Mini is a more compact sized version of their more Magic Wand Rechargeable sized Hummingbird, however this certainly doesn’t downgrade it and the Mini is actually more powerful than its larger counterpart. Overall it is just the same sort of wand massager that I have grown to love over the last few years, but with a slightly smaller head and shorter body. The head of the toy is made with body-safe silicone while the handle is made with ABS plastic and the toy features two simple and self-explanatory buttons, one to turn it on and one to adjust vibration levels. Both the top of the head and body feature the toy’s logo (a Hummingbird) and while this looks good I’m not sure the point of stimulation is the best place to put a logo. The head itself has some squish to it and is heavily textured which is interesting since I’m use to smooth heads on wand massagers. The neck is quite flexible and I got mine in their pink colour, but they also do a great purple shade too. It is rechargeable, features 10 vibration modes (2 strengths and 8 patterns) and is only 20cm / 7.9″ with a head width of 5cm / 2″, plus only weighs 300g / 10.6 oz which is very light. Finally, Cloudnine also include a 12 month warranty with all their products.

Attachments

Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini

The Hummingbird and Hummingbird Mini both have wand attachments that can be bought to go with them. For the Hummingbird there is the insertable G-spot Toucan which Cloudnine make themselves. For the Mini there is three attachments, the Bunny, Butterfly and Rabbit, which I was also sent for review. The Butterfly has a larger end to go in the vagina and a butterfly shaped end that is textured to rest on top of the clitoris. The Bunny is similar to my Intro 2 and is designed for both ends to stimulate the clitoris. Finally the Rabbit is just designed like a regular rabbit vibrator. They are all bright pink and they all have the ‘Lesparty’ logo on them which from what I can tell is a Japanese sex toy manufacturer who create these attachments. They are originally created for smaller wand massagers such as the Fairy Wand Mini so you might have a little trouble getting these onto the larger head of the Hummingbird Mini. The best way to do this is to first put it inside-out and then unfold it out over the head.

[UPDATE: I have flame tested these and the included head for the Hummingbird Mini and they have all passed as silicone.]

Packaging

Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini

My order was placed with Cloudnine on the 14th of December and it arrived promptly by the 19th which was great considering it was over the Christmas period. The postage packaging was discreet and did not mention what was inside. It did list Cloudnine as the sender but this could mean many companies. Inside this was the box for the Hummingbird Mini as well as the attachments which were individually sealed in plastic. The box is simple but well made and sturdy. The outside features a picture of the toy, logos, as well as some simple information about the toy. The inside can be slid out with the help of a little bit of ribbon which is attached and then this reveals the toy and its charger which are both encased in foam. Inside of this is the instructions on use of the toy, plus the cleaning and warranty info. Since the box is quite compact it will probably also make a good home for your vibrator.

Charging & Controls

Charging the toy is simple, just plug it into the base of the toy and the other end into a powerpoint. It should take around 8 hours to give you three hours of play time, or alternatively for a quicker charge just 1 hour should still give you 45 minutes of vibrations. The use of buttons is also very simple, the ‘On/Off’ button is the only way to turn the toy on or off, and the other button cycles through the 10 modes. Once off the toy will start at the beginning of the modes. One of my biggest issues with the toy immediately is that it has 8 patterns and only 2 vibration strengths. I don’t enjoy patterns at all, so straight off the bat that means I can only use 2 vibrations from this toy. Because of this the initial speed is quite high and there is a big jump between the first and second speeds, so it can be difficult to adjust between the two levels and you might need some prior stimulation beforehand to get going. I think it would have been a lot better to put 4 vibration strengths and 4 patterns, that way there is an equal amount of fun to be had depending on your preference and no one feels left out.

Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini

First Impressions

I’ve found the Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini’s noise level to also be quite high, almost being on par to some of the higher settings of my Magic Wand Rechargeable. For such a small toy in comparison I’m a little shocked at this. It doesn’t change my experience of the toy personally since I just live with my partner, but it may be a concern if you live with parents or housemates. Another problem I have encountered with the toy is that the residual vibrations, that is the vibrations that travel along the handle, are quite high. This means that I find it rather uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time, and if I am using it for more than a few minutes my hand will begin to go numb.

My Experience

Initially turning on the Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini I was a little concerned about whether the vibrations would be rumbly enough for me, especially since the toy is so small in comparison to some of my most loved wands. Actually using it though I found that I had completely underestimated it! While it certainly doesn’t have the same deeply penetrating rumble that a Magic Wand Rechargeable or Doxy might have, this vibrator certainly still has some kick to it. I find that orgasms with it are powerful and fast, and are far better suited to me than some of the clitoral vibrators I have tried more recently such as the MysteryVibe Crescendo and IMTOY Zoo Gazelle. If it wasn’t for the issue with the residual vibrations and lack of speeds this could easily my favourite vibrator other than my MWR and Doxy, however it still comes pretty close, plus it would make the perfect wand massager to travel with.

Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini

I have quite a few wand massagers now, but the Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini is actually my first wand with insertable attachments. I was pleased to find that the vibrations transfer through to them really well, and are almost as strong as they are at the head of the wand which is great. First up I tested the Bunny, I did not expect much from this just because I know from experience with the IMTOY Gazelle’s similar attachment and the Intro 2 that the dual ears just doesn’t work for my clitoris. Using it my expectations were correct, although I found that while I would have preferred to just use the wand directly that I was still able to orgasm with it, just not as quickly or powerfully. I believe that if you do enjoy vibrations like this however then this would work really great for you. Next up was the Rabbit, which is easily insertable with a small amount of lube. Unfortunately the clitoris arm did not reach my clit, while the insertable arm did not reach my G-spot. However rocking it back and forth I did manage to find a middle ground between the two where I was able to hit my clitoris and so I did manage to have an orgasm with it. The Butterfly style was similar, although the ‘butterfly’ did rest exactly over my clitoris which was pretty great. The insertable end however was too small really for much to be felt, although again I did find that rocking it back and forth was pleasurable and I could orgasm from it. Even though I orgasmed successfully from all the attachments I didn’t find any of them hugely pleasurable and I would have had a lot more fun just using the Hummingbird Mini on my clit while I used one of my dildos as an insertable. However if you don’t have any dildos then this would be a really great way to start off by getting both a vibrator and insertable attachments in one that you can play around with.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini is simple since you can remove the silicone head. Once this is done you can just wipe it and the attachments down with some soap and warm water, and then leave it to air dry. After this you can return it to the massager body and put it in its storage solution such as zip lock bags or the provided box. Since the toy is made with silicone ensure to only use water-based lubricants with it.

Final Thoughts

Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini

Overall I really enjoyed trying out the Cloudnine Hummingbird Mini and my expectations for it were certainly exceeded. I’ve had some bad luck with clitoral vibrators lately, with some of them being too weak to even begin to arouse me, let alone give me an orgasm. But the Hummingbird Mini reminded me of my smaller wand massagers when I just started using sex toys that I use to adore so much. While my Magic Wand Rechargeable ($230 AUD / $150 USD), Doxy Die Cast ($275 AUD / $225 USD) and O-WAND ($295 AUD / $200 USD) are certainly more powerful, the Hummingbird Mini provides a smaller and slightly cheaper alternative that is still very good. My main negatives were the lack of vibration speeds and residual vibrations, but I feel like these are relatively easy fixes and the strength of the vibrations there are is enough to keep me happy. I think the wand attachments certainly do add another level to the toy, so if they sound like your sort of thing then I think they would definitely be worth it. I’m so proud that this toy has been brought to us from an Australian company and I can’t wait to see what else they produce.

Sadly, Cloudnine Adult Concepts are no longer in business, and thus the Hummingbird Mini has been discontinued.

AC Rechargeable
Review: Le Wand Rechargeable Massager

Le Wand Rechargeable Massager

Despite being a relatively new brand, Le Wand’s products continually seem to be a topic of debate among sex bloggers, and for good reason. Accused of being a “copy-cat” manufacturer, the luxury toy brand has been releasing products that look suspiciously similar to those from other brands for years now, but with the announcement of their latest Stainless Steel collection, which features toys almost identical to those from Njoy, things have really heated up. Now, my thoughts on this matter could make up an entire post of their own, so for now I’ll just say that taking inspiration from popular products is just part of design, and as frustrating as it might be, it’s something that happens across all industries. Plus, an important thing to consider is that while Njoy’s products (which range from $130 to $520 AUD) are not a possibility for most people, Le Wand’s are significantly cheaper, and I am 100% here for making toys more accessible. At the end of the day though, Le Wand is a luxury brand too, and keeping their prices lower than the toys they take inspiration from isn’t always easy. With that in mind, today I am taking a look at the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager, a toy that’s very similar to one of my personal favourites, the Magic Wand Rechargeable, despite costing more!

Product Description

I’ve heard such good things about Le Wand’s toys, but the idea that they’ve taken what is widely considered the best sex toy ever made and produced their own more expensive version stresses me out, because it would have to be really really good to even come close to being worthwhile. Still, I figured that considering this is the toy they launched their brand with (their full name is Le Wand Massager, after all), it had to be at least pretty good. There are currently three versions of the Massager available, but I went with the OG Rechargeable over the cheaper Plug-In and Petite options. A truly beautiful toy, Le Wand have used a minimalist approach to create a sense of luxury that is often missing from wand massagers. Coming in black (which is what I have), grey, or white, Le Wand also frequently collaborate with artists to release stunning special editions if you fancy something even nicer. With a simple body comprised of smooth plastic and featuring just three buttons, the head is then made of a firm body-safe silicone and has some flexibility to it. Compared to the Magic Wand Rechargeable it’s, of course, very similar in regards to appearance, although overall I do find the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager to be more pleasing to the eye. As such, the only readily apparent downside to this toy versus the Magic Wand and similar products is that the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager is very heavy, as with a weight of 670g this is by far one of the heaviest sex toys I’ve ever used. Plus, my copy features a small imperfection in the plastic near the buttons, however this is minor. Finally, as its name suggests, this toy does not need to be plugged in during use as it is AC rechargeable, and it also features a travel-lock.

Packaging

Le Wand Rechargeable Massager Packaging
My small light box was no match for the Rechargeable Massager’s box.

My order with JOUJOU for the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager was placed on the 28th of July and I received it promptly on the 31st, which was brilliant considering the current postal delays. Plus, the box was completely discreet, with no mention of the sender or contents. The packaging for my only other Le Wand toy, the Point, was totally gorgeous and very fitting for the brand’s luxury feel, so I was particularly excited to see how the Rechargeable Massager would be presented. My first impression, however, was just how ridiculously large and heavy the thing is. Far bigger than the product itself, this box is potentially the largest and easily the heaviest I’ve ever received with a sex toy. Despite this though it is still quite luxurious, with a sophisticated black and white colour scheme that matches the toy, alongside glossy silver text that highlights its abilities. Once the safety seals are broken the top half of the box may then be lifted off, which reveals the toy safely resting in plastic. You can then remove this to access the lower section of the box, where you’ll find all of the toy’s various accessories. There is the charging cord and two instruction manuals (one is more technical and comes in a range of languages, and the other is a cute “pleasure guide” which talks about using the wand and also serves as a brand catalogue), alongside a branded storage case and four AC attachments (US, UK, EU and AUS) to ensure the wand can be used in a range of locations. Overall I am happy with all of this and the packaging certainly suits the toy’s price tag, but I just wish it was smaller as not only does having a box far larger than the product itself result in excess waste, but it also makes disposing of it or using it as a permanent storage method difficult. Finally, the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager comes with a 1 year warranty.

Charging

Le Wand Rechargeable Massager Charging

My least favourite type of wand massagers are those that need to be plugged in during use, so this was the main reason I chose the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager over the Le Wand Plug-In Massager. The only downside is that it does need to be plugged into a power point to charge, rather than a USB port which has become the standard in recent years. However, this is usually only frustrating because power points are different depending on the country, and since the Rechargeable Massager’s charger comes with an in-built universal adaptor, it’s not an issue. Instead, all you need to do is connect the correct plug when you first receive it (assuming one of the four attachments works where you are), and then you don’t need to ever think about it again! To charge the Rechargeable Massager simply plug one end of the cord into the power point and the other end into the bottom of the toy. When charging a light on the toy will flash, and this will then become solid once complete. Charging should then take around 3 hours, and this will give you roughly 3 hours of playtime. Then, when low on battery the toy will flash its light rapidly to indicate this. In addition, this toy can also be used whilst on charge, which is a feature from the Magic Wand Rechargeable that I adore, as it means things don’t need to come to a complete stop if the toy runs out of battery during use, and to make this easy the Rechargeable Massager has a 2.67m / 8.76′ cord.

Controls

Le Wand Rechargeable Massager and Magic Wand Rechargeable
The Le Wand Rechargeable Massager with its inspiration, the Magic Wand Rechargeable.

When I first saw that the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager had three buttons like the Magic Wand Rechargeable I figured they’d be pretty similar, but while both toys ultimately do the same thing, Le Wand have mixed things up enough to make it a wholly unfamiliar experience for me. While the Magic Wand kept things simple with a button for turning the toy on or off, a button for increasing the speeds, and a button for changing the modes, Le Wand have attempted to keep all of this while also adding the ability to decrease the speeds. The result means that to turn the toy on you must first press the plus button, which will place it on its lowest speed, and this may then be continually pressed or held down to increase the toy through its 10 intensity levels. You can then lower the speed again with the minus button, and holding this down past the lowest speed will turn the toy off (although this can take up to six seconds when at full speed, which is quite frustrating). Finally, you can cycle through the toy’s 20 pattern modes by clicking the middle wave button. While this is certainly a bit more convoluted than the Magic Wand, the biggest problem I found was the positioning of the pattern button between the two power / vibration speed buttons. This means that if you’re someone like me who doesn’t enjoy patterns and would rather just avoid them, you need to constantly remember to skip over this middle button whilst using the toy. Plus, if you do accidentally click it then you’re going to need to turn the entire toy off, which can take some time if at a high speed, as the only other option would be to click through all 20 pattern modes till you get back to the start. In addition, the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager also has a travel-lock option, and this can be activated and deactivated by holding the plus and minus buttons down for three seconds, with success being indicated by a flashing light.

First Impressions

My biggest concern with this toy was what its vibrations would be like, considering they weren’t the best in the Le Wand Point. I was excited about their potential though, as with a range of 10 different speeds the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager has much more variety than the Magic Wand. Turning it on for the first time I was immediately impressed with the power that’s inside this massager, although it is definitely more on the buzzy side than I would like, and this only gets worse as you increase its intensity. It’s because of this that I find it weaker than similar wand vibrators, such as the Magic Wand Rechargeable, We-Vibe Wand and Doxy Die Cast. However do keep in mind that I’m not saying this toy is weak, just that it is not as powerful as these other amazing products. An upside to this though is that it is one of the most quiet wands I’ve tried, but again that doesn’t mean it’s not still loud, and so I wouldn’t recommend this toy for use when you need to be discreet, particularly considering how long it can take to turn off.

My Experience

Le Wand Rechargeable Massager Accessories

Using the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager is a lot of fun. I’ve found that once you go past the fifth level of vibration intensities that’s when the buzziness really takes over and starts to numbs me out, so as long as I stay below this I am able to really enjoy the toy. The vibrations may not be as strong as other wands, but they are certainly powerful enough to get me off with ease and give me some amazing orgasms. As such, the only real downside to using this toy is the weight of it, as this can leave me with a sore arm after use. Plus, as much as I love the smooth silky body of the toy, this only makes things worse as it causes it to be constantly sliding out of my hands. Because of this it can be particularly difficult to press the buttons during use, as there is such a distance between the plus and minus buttons (typically I’ll switch between the two frequently when using massagers) that as soon as I remove my thumb from one to reach the other, the toy will slip and move. Due to this I’ve resigned to really only using the plus button on this toy, which is disappointing as I find it harder to enjoy, but it’s certainly better than constantly dropping it or accidentally clicking the pattern button and having my whole session interrupted.

Cleaning & Care

Since the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager is not waterproof you do need to be careful when cleaning it. Thankfully though the majority of my use occurs over my underwear or pyjama pants, since the vibrations are strong enough to easily transfer through. But on the rare occasion that I do use this toy without a barrier, I just give its head a little wash with some soap and water (being careful to not let the water go on anything but the silicone), and then dry it. The silicone does then attract a fair bit of dust, so I’d then recommend storing it in the bag it comes with. In addition, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

Le Wand Rechargeable Massager Head

The Le Wand Rechargeable Massager is a really good toy. The problem with it is that it is more expensive than a lot of its competitors, despite not being better than them. So, rather than reiterating what we’ve already been over, let’s talk about why you might buy this toy over a cheaper one. Well, if you’re considering the Magic Wand Rechargeable or Magic Wand Plus instead, it’s important to note that these toys are not supported outside of the US. That means not only will you have trouble buying them, but you’ll also have issues with their warranty and charging cords. Another thing that separates the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager from other toys is its patterns, as with 20 modes that also respond to the toy’s 10 vibration intensities, this is one of the best wands out there for lovers of patterns. Or maybe you prefer buzzy vibrations over rumbly ones, in which case you’ll likely enjoy this toy far more than a massager like the We-Vibe Wand. Plus, considering how much more stylish this toy and its packaging is over many of the other options, this may be the best choice if you are more interested in the aesthetic, or if you’re getting it as a gift. To be honest, the special editions are reason enough to get this toy over another. At the end of the day though the decision is yours based on your preferences and budget, but I hope this review helps you to make the best choice!

You can get the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager from JOUJOU for just $220.95 AUD / $147 USD!

AC Rechargeable
Review: Magic Wand Rechargeable – Princess Previews

Magic Wand Rechargeable

I’m a wand girl. I like clit vibrators and use them often, but nothing is quite the same as a wand massager. They were my first type of vibrator and still my most used today. I started off with the Wanachi Mini, and looking back on it, damn was it weak, but when I first got it I loved it to bits and used it to death (literally). Next I got the Fairy Wand, which I still hope to review sometime. Again it was clearly pretty weak, but still a huge upgrade from the Wanachi and for a good year or so it was named my Number 1 Favourite Toy. I use to switch between the two constantly, depending on whether I wanted to use the weak but cordless Wanachi, which was far easier to pull out quickly during spontaneous play sessions, or the Fairy Wand, which was more powerful but I had to plug in (which where I use to live was really, really annoying). I’m not one to make big purchases, but it was pretty clear I needed to invest in one of the big guns, a Doxy or Hitachi Magic Wand. I ended up going with the Magic Wand Rechargeable, letting it fix my two biggest issues, power and the ability to be cordless. It kind of felt like it would be too good to be true while I was waiting for it, but I’ve now had it since August last year, and I can 100% confirm its excellence! It is easily my most used sex toy ever, I think if it ever died I would be completely heart broken and need 20 boxes of ice cream to drown my sorrows, that is until my next one arrives.

Background

The Magic Wand, formerly known as Hitachi, is the original massager vibrator. It is one of those brands that is so famous the product has become known by it, like Hoover with vacuums. When Cam Girls do wand massager shows, they are called Hitachi Shows, regardless of what actual wand vibrator they are using. The original Hitachi, now known as the Magic Wand Original, is still available to be bought if you want a little piece of history, but the new and improved Magic Wand Rechargeable brings some much needed changes to the table and somehow manages to improve upon a legend in the industry. Firstly, as in the name, it is rechargeable. If you have never had to use a corded massager before, you might not fully understand the importance of this, but let me tell you it makes a big difference. Another big change the Rechargeable boasts over its predecessor is that the head is now made out of a deliciously squishy silicone rather than a porous vinyl, making it finally safe to use without underwear on. Plus the Original only had two speeds, low and high, whereas the Rechargeable now has four speeds and four patterns!

Magic Wand Rechargeable

The only downside to the Magic Wand Rechargeable is it is basically USA only. It sounds crazy, but a lot of stores downright refuse to ship this product outside of the United States. If you do manage to get your hands on it if you live elsewhere, unfortunately the 1 year warranty will become invalid. Because of this and its popularity there are a lot of counterfeit Magic Wand’s around, so make sure when buying to only go through trusted retailers, never eBay or Amazon. This also means that it only comes with a US plug, so you’ll need an adaptor to be able to charge it. I’ll list my recommended retailers for all countries below as always, but if this all sounds a bit too much, I’d recommend getting a Doxy Massager instead, which is very similar and readily available in Europe, North America and Australia.

Product Description

Magic Wand Rechargeable

The Magic Wand Rechargeable is certainly a beast of a thing. It barely fits in my toy drawer and feels like I’m holding some sort of industrial tool. It weights 600g / 1.3lb, is 33 cm / 13 inches long and its head has a diameter of 6 cm / 2.4 inches. In my hand though it just feels right, like if I was a magical girl or in a zombie apocalypse it would be my weapon of choice that I would do all the cool poses with. The body is a nice silky plastic which has the name of the toy on the front and on the back are some of the toys details on a neat little label. The head is made from a buttery smooth silicone that thankfully doesn’t pick up lint. The only downside to its appearance is the head has a seam, but it is not noticeable at all in use.

Controls

Magic Wand Rechargeable

The massager has four vibration speeds and four patterns for use. The top circle button turns it on (it’ll start on the first speed with no pattern) and then you can choose to either cycle through the four vibration speeds or four patterns. I love the two button system. I hate patterns, so the fact I never have to use them is perfect for me. I also love that the on/off button is a different shape from the other two, since I often turn vibrators on and off to edge during masturbation and I also often use them under sheets, so being able to feel what I’m touching without looking is a huge plus. During use the speeds will light up blue and the patterns will light up green below the buttons, with the number of lights depending on what level you are on (for instance if you are using the third pattern then there will be three green lights on below the buttons). This makes it easy and obvious to know exactly what settings you are using at any current time, and makes remembering what you like most easier since it is visual. When it is low on battery the light will flash red, when it is charging it will be a constant red, and then when fully charged it’ll be green. One of the only downsides to the Magic Wand is that it is rather loud, on its lowest speed I think you could probably get away with it staying silent under a blanket and behind closed doors, but any more than that and I think you’d be risking it.

Charging

One of my favourite things about the Magic Wand Rechargeable is that if it does die on you, in all its cordless beauty, you can plug in its 2 meter charging cord and keep using it as a corded vibrator. This is an absolute life-saver when I need a vibrator and all my favourites are dead and need some time before they are usable again. The only problem with this is that it doesn’t die enough! I have had this vibrator since August last year, use it all the time, and I think it has died on me three times.

My Experience

Magic Wand Rechargeable

I think it should go without saying that the Magic Wand’s vibrations are stronger than any other toy I own. When I first got it I would only use the very first setting, everything else was too strong for me. Now I use the first setting to get ready before moving up to the second one, and after doing that for awhile I think I would struggle to just use the first setting now. I suppose eventually I might make my way up to using the fourth setting, and it is nice having the option for even more power, but for now I’m perfectly content as is. I don’t really believe in the idea that using a wand massager makes your clitoris less sensitive though, I can still easily get off with my hand and less powerful vibrators, but I do think that by using toys like this you can allow your clit to get use to dealing with stronger vibrations, and who doesn’t want that! What I love most about my Magic Wand is that I can press the whole silicone head over my clit and envelope my whole vulva in pleasure. Even though it is only my clit that is actually going to get me off, I really adore these big broad vibrations that I can just totally relax into rather than the pin point vibrations of something like the We-Vibe Tango which only focuses on my clit and nothing else. The biggest issue for the actual use of the Magic Wand, although this goes for basically all wand massages and so isn’t a huge deal, is that it is too big for use during most PIV positions and a bit too cumbersome for use with dildos. It is however, awesome for foreplay with my partner, since the size of the head means basically anywhere he puts it on my vulva turns me on, plus it feels great on my nipples and just about anywhere else too!

I love all my toys, particularly my vibrators, and I use all of them in turn. But it is the Magic Wand I go to for guaranteed orgasms, and it is very common that I will start off with other vibrators before reaching for my Magic Wand to finish me off, not because the other vibrators can’t bring me to orgasm, but because I know I will have a more satisfying one with the Magic Wand. I can have orgasm after orgasm with it, even when I’m not super aroused, which sounds odd but is awesome during cum shows when I am camming. Even if I’m not planning on cumming, just using it over my vulva feels really good in a sensual way, plus it is perfect for actual massages.

Cleaning & Care

Magic Wand Rechargeable

I usually use my Magic Wand over my underwear or pyjama bottoms (since the vibrations easily transfer through) to avoid the head getting all dirty, but if it does then I just give it a quick wipe down with some toy cleaner and a damp cloth. The Magic Wand isn’t at all waterproof, so be careful to avoid getting water anywhere other than its head. It doesn’t really need any special storage and since it doesn’t pick up lint I just leave it wherever (particularly the other side of the bed when my partners away).

Final Thoughts

My Magic Wand is my partner in crime. It is my desert island sex toy. Because of its size I doubt I’d want to take it on a plane with me, so if I ever go on a holiday I’ll be more wand-sick than home-sick. I am open to trying other wand vibrators and would be eager to see how others compare, plus I would love to support one more Australian friendly (aka a Doxy *hint hint*), but for now this is about as good as it gets for me. I think just about anyone would love a vibrator like this, experienced in the world of sex toys or not, and if you choose this as your first wand toy, then you are one lucky person!

For those in the US, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, you can get the Magic Wand Rechargeable from Lovehoney for just $229.95 AUD / $149.99 USD, plus use my code GRACE15 to get 15% OFF your total order!

Again it was clearly pretty weak, but still a huge upgrade from the Wanachi and for a good year…

Review: Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand

Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand

In January I got the pleasure of reviewing Geeky Sex Toy’s fabulous Laser Sword dildo, which is based on a Lightsaber out of the Star Wars universe as part of their Star Toys range. I was so pleased to see my geeky reader’s reactions to such a unique toy, especially since, as my review states, it is far more than just a novelty piece for the Star Wars lover, but instead a great quality dildo that can stand up on its own against the rest of my collection. So this month I’m excited to be reviewing their R2-V2 Vibrating Wand which is part of the same Star Toys range. This toy, if you couldn’t tell straight away, is based off the loveable character R2-D2 from the Star Wars series and when I first saw it I literally lol’d. I’m a big wand massager fan and they are the most used toys in my collection, so this was a product I needed to have. I was lucky enough for the wonderful guys over at from Geeky Sex Toys to hook me up to help fuel my obsession of their products.

Product Description

I can’t help but giggle a little bit every time I see my Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand. Basically it is just a Hitachi style wand with stickers on it to make it look like R2-D2. It certainly feels and looks a lot more like a cheap novelty product than the Laser Sword did, but don’t let that put you off. Regardless of its power (which I’ll discuss in a bit) I think any Star Wars fan will love this toy just for its visual appearance. If you don’t like Star Wars however, and just want this toy purely for its sexual pleasure, then I feel you’ll be disappointed and would not recommend it.

Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand

The toy itself is essentially the same size and design as my Magic Wand Rechargeable, however the difference between the two is quickly felt once they are picked up, since the R2-V2 is extremely light in comparison. If it wasn’t for the fact that it works, you might think they forgot to even put anything inside of it. It has two simple buttons and is the sort of toy that needs to be plugged into a power point to work, similar to the Doxy Wand. The neck isn’t very flexible and the cord is 1.9m / 6.2 ft long. The head is made of a cloudy clear body-safe silicone to let you see the stickers through it (they don’t show up well in the photographs and are a lot clearer in person), plus it can be removed for cleaning. The silicone is soft but also has a tacky feeling and picks up a lot of hair and lint.

Packaging

Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand

My Geeky Sex Toys order was placed on the 5th of December and I received it promptly on the 8th which was an amazing speed considering it was during the Christmas period. The packaging was very discreet with no mention of what was inside and Geeky Toys was listed as the sender, which if you are someone who collects geeky figurines like me I doubt anyone would put much further thought into it. Since Geeky Sex Toys are a independent operation they don’t have extravagant packaging like some luxury products, instead the toy just simply comes with a small instruction sheet on how to use it which is set out like a comic book, and a storage bag. If you read my Laser Sword review you would remember how much I loved its custom red and black drawstring bag, and the R2-V2 has the same. This one is white and blue with a sturdy white and blue string to tie it together. It is the perfect size to store both the massager and its cord and I love it to bits.

Charging & Controls

Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand

I’m not a huge fan of any sex toy that needs to always be plugged into a wall socket to work, but since some of my favourite wands have been made this way it is something I’ve learnt to deal with. The toy comes with an Australian plug which is a nice change since I think this is my first sex toy like this that I haven’t needed to use an adaptor for. The use of the buttons are slightly different from what I expected since rather than just clicking the ‘ON / OFF’ button which then puts the toy at the first speed as usual, you instead need to first click to turn it on and then click again on the vibrations button to get it going. There are three vibration strengths, followed by six pattern modes. Once you complete the cycle it begins again and then once it is turned off it begins again. I dislike using patterns, but three vibration strengths for a wand massager is an alright amount in my opinion, I only ever use the first two on my Magic Wand Rechargeable after all. One thing I will note however is that the LED lights that are under the buttons don’t exactly look right as you can see in this photo, although this is more of an aesthetic problem than anything.

My Experience

I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular or even great with the vibrations on the Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand, so because of this I’m not shocked or disappointed by their overall buzzy and weak feel. They aren’t the worst I’ve ever felt and do have some rumbly-ness to them, but for my more experienced clitoris I can’t really enjoy them. I imagine if I were a newbie to wand massagers then I would think they’re great, so for beginners you might enjoy this wand. I do get pleasure from it and I can orgasm, it just takes a lot longer than it usually would for me and the orgasm is a lot weaker than I’m use to. I find that the buzzy-ness of the vibrations makes it really hard for me to get over the edge of orgasm, even if I am quite enjoying the pleasure I am receiving. If anything my expectations for what I believed would be a completely novelty toy have been exceeded, since it is far better than some luxury vibrators that I can’t even orgasm with.

Noise Level

Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand
The Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand and my Magic Wand Rechargeable.

In regards to noise level this toy actually does pretty well as it is quite quiet. As with any wand massager it is probably wise to not use it if anyone is nearby who you don’t want to hear, but it is certainly a lot quieter than my Magic Wand Rechargeable. However, the noise that does come from it is at a higher pitch than most toys, and because of that it can give me a headache (the first toy to ever achieve that) if I have to listen to it for a prolonged period, which was certainly an issue during use. I also found the residual vibrations (the vibrations that travel down into the handle) are quite high, meaning that holding it for a extended period made my hand numb or gave me cramps which was also an issue during use.

Cleaning & Care

Since the head is removal and made of silicone cleaning couldn’t be easier. Just remove the head after use and wash it down with some soap and warm water. Let air dry and return to the toy, and then then store them in the provided storage bag. Make sure to only use water-based lubricants with the silicone head.

Final Thoughts

Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand

Overall, I love the Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand and my expectations for it were exceeded. Sure, it wasn’t a great sex toy, but as a novelty toy it certainly serves its purpose and I even find it quite pleasurable which is an awesome added bonus. If you are planning on buying this as an addition to your sex toy collection I would caution against it since it may not meet your usual standards, but if you are just beginning a collection or love Star Wars then go for it. Since Geeky Sex Toys are a new company and this is their first attempt at a wand massager I think they’ve done a brilliant job. I am no sex toy manufacturer but I feel that wand massagers are probably one of the hardest toys to get right and one of the most expensive to make. The fact that they went the extra mile to ensure the head is silicone, an aspect of wand massagers a lot of companies usually get away with not making body-safe, is also fantastic of them and really shows their commitment to body-safe sex toy products. I’m so happy to be from the same country as such a great company and I can’t wait to see their future products!

Sadly, the Geeky Sex Toys R2-V2 Wand has now been discontinued.

Review: Magic Wand Plus – Princess Previews

Magic Wand Plus

After five long years of reviewing every sex toy I can get my hands on, you’d think my number one favourite would have changed multiple times. But despite all odds, it hasn’t. The Hitachi Magic Wand Rechargeable, regarded by many as the best sex toy ever made, was one of the first vibrators I ever bought and reviewed, and to this day remains inseparable from me. I’ve certainly tried products that are more pleasurable, such as the Njoy Pure Wand and Womanizer DUO, and wand massagers aren’t even my favourite type of sex toy anymore (that title finally went to suction toys after I reviewed the Womanizer Premium back in March), but yet the Magic Wand persists. There is just something about its intense rumbly vibrations and soft yet flat head, mixed with the familiarity I have with it after years of use. Not to mention it is by far one of my easiest sex toys to use, considering that it’s wireless, requires charging very rarely, and I can use it over my underwear for minimal clean-up, making it perfect for my lazy masturbation ways. Despite my love for it however, there has always been the issue of its cost whenever I recommend it to somebody, which is understandably more than most people want to spend on a vibrator. So, when I heard that Vibratex were creating a new version of this classic toy at a lower price point and calling it the Magic Wand Plus? Sign me up!!

What’s Different?

The Magic Wand Plus is best described as a hybrid between the classic Magic Wand Original and the more recent Magic Wand Rechargeable. While it has the appearance of the Rechargeable, including its body-safe silicone head, it forgoes that toy’s pattern modes to opt for a more simplified control system reminiscent of the Original. Thankfully though the four steady vibration speeds that it does offer are designed to match those of the Rechargeable. As such, the biggest difference between the Rechargeable and Plus, and the main reason for the price difference between them, is the fact that the Plus is not rechargeable, and must be plugged in during use. Now, I am not a fan of plug-in toys (I haven’t even reviewed one in three years), so I don’t see the Plus beating the Rechargeable for my top spot anytime soon. However, if a cord is the only thing standing in the way of getting this toy for $75 less, then I am all for it.

Magic Wand Plus and Magic Wand Rechargeable
The Magic Wand Plus alongside the Rechargeable.

Product Description

The Magic Wand Plus is at first the splitting image of the Rechargeable, although once you look closer there are a few small visual differences, such as the logo and the symbols on the buttons. There are then also some additional changes that only become obvious upon holding the toy (and that I only probably notice because I have been using the Rechargeable for so long), such as the seam on the head being in a different spot and the screw holes being filled in. Not to mention that the Plus is clearly lighter, which wasn’t surprising considering it must have less electronics inside of it, weighing in at just 485 grams, a big contrast to the Rechargeable’s 590. Covered in a smooth white body of ABS plastic, with a few hints of blue on the three buttons and neck, the head itself is then the same soft and squishy silicone that I adore so much from the Rechargeable. Whilst the toy does need to be plugged in during use, the cord is not permanently connected to it like it is on the Original, and instead can be removed for easy storage and transportation. One great change between its removable cord compared to the Rechargeable’s however, is that it uses a locking mechanism when inserted into the toy, ensuring that the cord can’t be pulled out accidentally. While I would have loved for the cord to at least be USB compatible if we have to plug it in though, unfortunately this is not the case and the Magic Wand Plus must be connected to an AC power socket, meaning you will need an adaptor if you live outside of the United States. Finally, as with the other two Magic Wands, this product is not waterproof or anal safe.

The Sender

Before I continue I just wanted to take a moment to introduce Magic Men, the company who sent me the Magic Wand Plus for review, since it is my first time working with them. The retail side of the hugely popular Australian male strippers group, this award-winning online store stocks a huge range of items, from brand merchandise to hen’s party goods and adult products. Their range of vibrators is really what stands out to me most however, with some of the best toy brands on the market, including Satisfyer, Pillow Talk, and Lovehoney’s Fifty Shades of Grey, at great prices. The best bit of all though is that they are an official retailer of the Magic Wand, something that is very hard to come by in this country and which as far as I know makes them the only retailer of this product within Australia, wow! When shopping with them you can expect discreet packaging and free shipping on orders over $100 Australia-wide, plus they ship internationally too.

Packaging

Magic Wand Plus Packaging

My order for the Magic Wand Plus was placed with Magic Men on the 20th of May and I received it on the 5th of June. Worth noting though is that while Magic Men typically ship directly from their warehouse in Melbourne, Australia (which is where I am also located), they happened to be out of stock when sending my order and had it shipped from the United States instead, which meant it took slightly longer than it would usually. Whilst the contents of the box were listed as “beauty products”, unfortunately the sender was listed as “Magic Men Australia”, which was a bit disappointing considering their discretion policy, however this may be due to the fact that it was not sent from their warehouse, and at least it is still somewhat discreet. It has been quite a few years since I received my Magic Wand Rechargeable, yet I still clearly remember the iconic box that it comes in, and so I was pleased to see that not much has changed in this regard. Arriving in a large white and blue box proudly featuring the toy’s name, alongside images of it and more detailed information, this packaging stands out due to how little it resembles something from the sex industry. Instead, it just looks like an every day electrical item you could buy at Target, which, considering it is sold at Target, is exactly the point. The contents of the box is then quite minimal, with just the toy, a detailed instruction booklet, and the charging cord included. In addition the Magic Wand Plus also comes with a one year limited warranty, however this is not valid outside of the US.

Power

Magic Wand Plus Cord Attached

As the Magic Wand Plus is not rechargeable or USB-compatible, it must be plugged into a power point during use. The removable charging cords for the Plus and Rechargeable are identical, aside from a small latch on the end of the Plus’s which allows for it to lock into the toy. Plugging in the 1.8m / 6′ cord to the bottom of the toy is easy as it locks automatically, and pressing a small button to the side of it allows for it to be removed quickly and without any issues.

Controls

Other than not being rechargeable, the biggest difference between the Magic Wand Plus and Magic Wand Rechargeable is the controls, but despite this I found the Plus’s more simplified version super quick to pick up. Where the Rechargeable had a pattern mode and thus had one of its three buttons dedicated to this, the Plus does not, freeing up all of its buttons to control the steady speeds, which is handy for me as I don’t use patterns anyway. As with the Rechargeable, the first button is the power button, which places the toy on its first steady speed, and the second button increases the speed, but now the third button decreases the speed, as indicated by the plus and minus buttons respectively. As the Rechargeable is my favourite toy to edge with, I will often increase and decrease the speeds throughout a session, but previously that meant constantly turning it off and on in order to quickly lower the speeds. So now having a button dedicated to decreasing the speed is absolutely perfect for me and I couldn’t be happier with this change. Plus, it means I no longer have to worry about accidentally turning the pattern mode on now, which is something I frustratingly do all the time with the Rechargeable.

First Impressions

Magic Wand Plus and Magic Wand Rechargeable Details

Turning the Plus on alongside the Rechargeable, they really are identical in terms of their vibration strength and noise level. If I was going to say anything then I do think the Plus is slightly louder, but that’s really just nitpicking at this point. As such it goes without saying that the Plus is extremely powerful and rumbly, although this does in turn make it quite a loud sex toy, and so I definitely wouldn’t recommend its use if privacy is required.

My Experience

Despite how rumbly or strong a toy’s vibrations are, nothing has ever quite compared to the pleasure I get from the Magic Wand Rechargeable. But considering the Magic Wand Plus is supposed to use the exact same motor and has the same perfectly squishy head, I had pretty high hopes, and I’m glad to say I wasn’t let down. During use the two wand massagers feel pretty much identical, and while I do think the Rechargeable may be slightly stronger, there’s a good chance that’s just my familiarity with it playing tricks on me. Either way they’re pretty dang hard to tell apart, which means, of course, that the Plus gives me the same super fast and super strong orgasms that I experience with the Rechargeable. The only real difference when using them, other than needing to have the cord plugged in, is needing to remember the additional length that the cord adds to the Plus, as it has a firm 5cm / 2″ end. This is important as I often use wands under my sheets (especially right now during the middle of winter), and this extra length really makes an impact when trying to manoeuvre the toy around comfortably. But is this problem really worth an extra $75 to fix? I don’t think so.

Cleaning & Care

Magic Wand Plus Back

Since the Magic Wand Plus is not waterproof you do need to be careful when cleaning it. Thankfully though the majority of my use occurs over my underwear or pyjama pants since the vibrations are strong enough to easily transfer through. But on the rare occasion that I do use this toy without a barrier, I just give its head a little wash with some soap and water (being careful to not let the water go on anything but the silicone), and then dry it. Since it does not attract dust you can then store it however you want, my recommendation being within arm’s reach of your bed. In addition, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

This review truly couldn’t have gone any better. As with the Magic Wand Rechargeable, the Magic Wand Plus is an extremely well-thought-out product that doesn’t feature a single fault, and it met every single expectation that it set for itself. Practically identical to its predecessor in every way that it should be, the Plus is a perfect alternative to those who aren’t interested in paying an extra $75 just for patterns and no cord. In fact, since I don’t use the pattern mode on the Rechargeable anyway, I actually preferred the controls of the Plus, and would happily have them applied to the Rechargeable in a heart-beat. At the end of the day though I am always going to find a wireless toy easier to use than a corded one, and so whilst I have the Rechargeable I will continue to use it over the Plus. But I am so glad to know that if anything ever went wrong with the Rechargeable that I have an alternative I’d be happy to switch to. And if both went wrong? Then I’d be buying a Magic Wand Plus. So, if you’ve always wanted to try the legend that is the Hitachi Magic Wand before, but were simply put off by the price, then now is your time to shine.

Review: Velvet Thruster Prime – Princess Previews

Velvet Thruster Prime with Sammie, Walter, Edward, Nanci, Frankie and Jackie heads

2023 is the year of the thruster. I, perhaps prematurely, called it back in June after reviewing just three, yet since then I’ve gone on to double that number, turning a style of product I rarely review into one of my most talked about toys of the year. So today’s post feels almost like a culmination of this trend, because at long last I’m bringing you my review of the Velvet Thruster Prime. One of my most requested sex toys this year, I first started teasing this collaboration with Velvet Brands back in May, and figured I couldn’t let the year end without finally sharing my thoughts on one of the most elaborate thrusters, if not sex toys in general, that I’ve ever received. Because I’m not just reviewing one version of the modular Prime today, but all six of its insertable heads, as well as two of the optional accessories.

Product Description

Despite working with them for most of the year as one of my blog sponsors, this is actually my first time reviewing a product made by Velvet Brands. You can read more about them at my review of the Lovense Gravity, but the low-down is that as former engineers for companies like NASA, Velvet Brands, and their offshoot Velvet Thruster, are creating some next level sex toys, and the Prime seems to be the pinnacle of this so far. A modular-style toy, the brand offers a core “base” unit, which includes all of the electronic elements of the product, alongside a number of attachable heads and accessories to elevate and diversify your experience. Customers can then either buy pre-configured Primes with their desired head or “build your own” at their website, with individual heads also being available for purchase. For this review I will be looking at all six insertable attachments that are currently available, which are the Jackie, Frankie, Walter, Sammie, Nanci, and Edward, although there is also a Stroker attachment which I do not have. Plus, of the five optional accessories, I will be reviewing two: the Suction Cup and Long Reach Handle.

Whilst the Velvet Thruster Prime can start to seem like it has a bit too much going on with all these attachments, it is actually quite a simple toy at heart. Despite a few confusing mentions of it being a vibrator on the brand website, this toy is actually just a thruster, and doesn’t include any other features. Although there are a few more things that make it special other than its modular nature, such as its unique ability to bend whilst thrusting, its long-life battery, its 7.6cm / 3″ stroke length, and its 140 strokes per minute speed. The base component is very straightforward, simply featuring a single power button at the front, two more buttons and a charging hole at the back, and a screw hole at the bottom for the accessories. The underside is also slightly curved, so the toy cannot stand upright on its own, and the area with the power button protrudes, which aids with grip and also allows the product to be fully anal-safe. Plus, this component is also fully covered in silicone, and is available in five colours: white (which is what I have), black, lilac, mint and red. Above the silicone there is then a thin strip of hard clear plastic, and this acts as the divider between the base and the attached head. I’ll talk more about each head individually further down in this review, but there are a few general traits that connect all of them. Firstly, they all start with the Velvet Thruster logo just below an accordion-style area, before moving onto a lengthy shaft and unique head. They are also 100% made from a silky smooth semi-firm body-safe silicone, and since they’re fully removable from the base, this means they are also waterproof. As for the base itself, this is supposed to be water-resistant (more on this later), and it can be used as both a rechargeable and a plug-in toy with its AC charger. Finally, it’s also worth mentioning that once the attachments are on, this is a very lengthy toy, ranging from a total size of 29.2cm / 11.5″ to 33cm / 13″, depending on the head.

Packaging

Velvet Thruster Prime packaging
Unfortunately the main box was damaged in transport. Also note the diagram in the instructions… I’ll be coming back to this later!

I received the Prime from Velvet Thruster in two parts. My first order was placed on the 9th of March and arrived on the 22nd, whilst my second order was placed on the 17th of May and arrived on the 1st of June. Unfortunately, both orders were not discreet, with visible invoices listing both the brand name, my website, and the contents as “massager samples for media reviews”. Although I’m sure this is just because I am a reviewer, so hopefully customer orders are treated with more privacy in mind. Despite the large volume of goods for this review, I also only received one proper box. This was for the Velvet Thruster Prime with the Nanci attachment, and it also contained the Suction Cup. A large box made of thick card, an almost life size picture of the toy is on the front, whilst at the back you’ll find an introduction to the Prime. Plus, because the Nanci was designed by fellow toy reviewer Super Smash Cache, an extra sleeve was included that wraps around the box’s sides, featuring a picture of her and the story behind the unusual shape. Removing this then just reveals more info on the Prime, as well as a note listing which colour options are within. Opening it up, I found the Prime Nanci, alongside a small instruction sheet, charging cord and suction cup, loose within the box. As for the other attachments, these came in four smaller boxes (the Edward, Walter and Jackie had their own individual boxes, whilst the Sammie, Frankie, and Long Reach Handle shared a slightly larger box) that simply state they contain Velvet Thruster Prime accessories, with a small note as to the contents. In addition, the Velvet Thruster Prime also includes a one-year warranty.

Charging

The Velvet Thruster Prime is my first non-USB rechargeable toy in a long time. Instead, it is AC rechargeable, and comes with a US plug, so you will need an adaptor if you’re international like me. Plus, like my beloved Magic Wand Rechargeable, this toy can also be used whilst plugged-in. I’ve always been a big fan of having this choice, as it allows you the freedom of continuing to use the toy even if it is out of charge, something that’s pretty rare in sex toys these days. With a length of roughly 2.1m / 6.89′, the cord is then fairly bulky and long, with a power pack in the middle. To use, simply plug one end into the hole on the Prime, and the other end into a power outlet, with a light on the battery pack becoming orange during charge. Once complete, this light will then change to green, with charging taking around 30 minutes to give you an estimated eight hours of use. And yes, that’s not a typo, this toy really does have what has to be one of the best charging times I’ve ever seen. Additionally, Velvet Thruster also recommends charging before first use.

Velvet Thruster Prime charging

Controls

Controlling the Velvet Thruster Prime is easy. There are three buttons, which are labelled so clearly that you don’t even need to read the instructions. The power button is on the front, whilst buttons with a plus and minus symbol are positioned at the back. As you’d expect, you can then use the power button to turn the toy on and off, whilst the other two allow you to increase and decrease the speed of the thruster. The toy will start at its lowest speed, and there are six to choose from, with the toy’s light changing colour depending on the speed. Not only does this look great, but it is functional too, as it’s an easy way to know which speed you’re on once you memorise it. Upon turning the toy off, you can then either wait roughly four seconds for it to power down, or you can press the power button a second time to have it halt instantly, allowing you to get it to the length you want, which is excellent for storage. Overall, I love all of this, so it is a shame that I’ve found the power button to be increasingly non-responsive when pressed. I can hear it click, but nothing happens, and whilst this started as a minor inconvenience, by the point of my final test I found myself struggling to use it at all.

First Impressions

Even though the Velvet Thruster Prime isn’t explicitly marketed as a thruster vibrator, there are a few brief mentions of it vibrating at the brand’s website. So my first impression here was simply one of surprise and disappointment when I realised that this toy does not actually vibrate, especially after reviewing the Lovense Gravity for them a few months back which did have the ability to do both. Turning it on definitely helped make up for this though, as it is hard to not be impressed with the clear power behind this toy. The extension makes what is already a big toy even bigger, thrusts are consistent and strong, and the top speed is fast despite its size. It takes quite a lot of force to even start slowing it down, and then there is the fact that it can curve and flex, not just because the electronics don’t fill the end of the silicone attachment, but because of a nifty piece of flexible plastic underneath. Of course, this thruster isn’t without the usual double-edged sword, and by that I mean it is loud. Even worse than the Lovense Gravity when on its higher speeds, this is easily one of the loudest sex toys I have ever used, and is definitely not a product that offers any privacy.

Velvet Thruster Prime power button

In regards to switching the heads, this is easy once you know how to do it. At first I was pretty confused, as it’s not explained in the instructions or on the box, but thankfully I found this helpful video on Velvet Thruster’s Instagram. Basically all you need to do is detach / attach the silicone from the clear ring of plastic, and then pull / push the head. Whilst it can occasionally be a little tricky, depending on how messy your hands are and how extended the Prime is, overall it’s a quick change over, allowing you to easily use more than one head in a single session.

My Experience

Whilst I want to give an introduction to all of the individual attachments I have for the Velvet Thruster Prime and go through my experience with them below, I figured I would first talk about my overall feelings about using this toy. Operating it whilst it’s inside of me is easy due to the clearly labelled buttons, and their placement and the fact that they are raised slightly also helps me remember which is which. Because of the handle’s unique shape, it is also easy to grip, and I’ve taken to using it with the plus and minus buttons facing towards me. You will need to hold onto it though, as the weight means it’ll just fall out otherwise. The thrusts feel forceful and very fast at the higher speeds, and I don’t have any issues with the toy slowing down during use. I also tend to not push it in too deeply, with the shaft instead thrusting near the entrance and mid-point of my vagina, as any further and it’ll start to make the base move around instead of the shaft. Although even without this, the length of the shafts means that there is no real chance I’m going to accidentally use the accordion portion, which is an improvement from the much shorter Lovense Gravity. On that note, I’ve been surprised by just how tiny the regular-sized Gravity feels compared to the Prime. Comparing their sensations, both toys offer similar thrusting abilities, so it is just the size and the length of extension that really makes all the difference. And whilst I do love how much more versatile the Gravity is, it’s really no competition with the Prime as a thruster, which is hands down the best I’ve ever tried. The only downside, other than the power button being difficult, is really just that noise level, and even though I live in a house now, I can’t shake the idea that my neighbours can probably hear it. Plus, even without this fear of others, it’s just a lot to deal with, either when solo or with a partner. Additionally, whilst I know a big part of the Prime is the fact it can bend, I sadly just don’t really find myself making use of this. It’s still a good trait to have and I’m sure some people would find it useful, but other than it allowing me to bring the Prime’s base slightly closer to me whilst it is still thrusting, I haven’t really found a purpose for it.

Jackie

Velvet Thruster Prime Jackie
The silicone heads do have varying degrees of quality issues due to prominent seams, with the Jackie being the worst.

Jackie is Velvet Thruster’s most popular attachment, and is designed as an average-size realistic option. Coming in at 16.5cm / 6.5″ in insertable length, with a 3.8cm / 1.5″ maximum diameter, I have it in black, and it is also available in lilac, mint, and red. Whilst prominent veins cover most of the surface, probably more so than you would find on an actual penis, this texture is only lightly raised, so the sensation of it in use is quite subtle, which also aids cleaning. A tapered phallic head and smooth underside then allows for easy insertion, and I’ve found using it on the Prime to be very enjoyable, although compared to the other designs it is probably the least interesting.

Frankie

Velvet Thruster Prime Frankie

Frankie focuses on texture rather than any kind of realism. A smooth, tapered head, this is interrupted a few inches down by a prominent ribbed area, before smoothing back out for the rest of the toy’s shaft. It still maintains an average diameter though, with a maximum size of 3.8cm / 1.5″, alongside an insertable length of 17.1cm / 6.75″. Whilst I am glad Velvet Thruster has an offering for those not interested in phallic designs, my initial thinking was that this toy wasn’t for me, as I know from past experience that I typically do not enjoy this kind of ribbing detail. And sure enough, when I first tried using it, I was not a fan, with the scraping of the toy leaving my entrance feeling a little too much like a pap smear for my tastes. However, I found that when the Prime is actually activated, the speed it is running at completely alleviates this sensation, and it turns out I’ve actually had a lot of fun with the Frankie! As for the colour, my copy is in mint, although it is also available in black, lilac and red.

Walter

Velvet Thruster Prime Walter

Walter is intended as the Velvet Thruster Prime’s anal attachment. Similar in appearance to anal beads, this toy features five bulbs of varying sizes over its 17.8cm / 7″ length, with diameters ranging from 1.7cm to 3.4cm / .65″ to 1.35″. This my first time receiving a thruster toy intended for anything but vaginal insertion, and I love the idea of it, with beads being the perfect choice in my opinion. Trying it out, I found the range of sizes ideal, and even though I don’t regularly use anal toys, I was able to get right into this, slowly working my way up. However, a big issue I found was how flexible the shaft is, particularly at the start before the Walter widens out and the internal electronics begin. It meant that I can’t just push the beads in whilst holding the handle, instead needing to use my fingers to pop the first two in. This isn’t too bad in itself, but the bigger problem comes when I start the thrusting, as the beads will come out, but then they can’t go back in on their own. The deeper you go with the Walter, the less this is an issue, but it does mean that you can’t just enjoy the smaller beads without committing to the whole thing. Otherwise I really loved this attachment, and found it very pleasurable.

I also decided to try the Walter vaginally, just to see what it was like. I still enjoyed this, with the unusual shape making me think more of a fantasy toy due to its gradual build-up of girth. Overall though, it did fall short of the other vaginal attachments, so whilst it can be used like this, it’s probably best off left as an anal toy. I should also note that this toy is available in the usual four colours of black, mint, lilac and red, and my copy is in red, which is a beautiful bright shade.

Sammie

Velvet Thruster Prime Sammie

Sammie is similar in appearance to Jackie, with a subtly textured shaft that makes it ideal for lovers of realistic toys. The difference, however, is that this attachment is much thicker, with a maximum diameter of 4.7cm / 1.85″. And we’re not just talking about some particularly wide point either, but a fairly consistent girth throughout its entire 18.4cm / 7.25″. Now, I know my body, and I did tell Velvet Thruster right off the bat that this toy was not going to fit me. Because even though I’ve been making some advances with toy sizes lately, just last month breaking my record with a 5.1cm / 2″ diameter toy, it is really the firm density of the Sammie that makes it not an option for me. In fact, this toy’s density and shape most reminds me of the 4.4cm / 1.75″ Tantus Vamp, which I also couldn’t use. Being the good reviewer that I am, I did try, but unfortunately it seems the Sammie really is a no go. Still, I appreciate Velvet Thruster sending it out anyway so I could include it here, and my copy is in their beautiful mint, although it is also available in black, lilac and red.

Nanci

Velvet Thruster Prime Nanci

Nanci is the attachment that was designed by fellow blogger and my friend Super Smash Cache, who was tasked with creating the ultimate G-Spot toy. This unique shape is a breath of fresh air, and you can really tell it was brought to life by someone outside of the traditional sex toy design industry, but who also has an intimate knowledge and understanding of how sex toys and bodies work. Unlike any toy I’ve ever seen before, the Nanci features an almost hook-like head, which is curved slightly and tapered to aid with G-Spot stimulation. It then thins out, before sporting a raised bump along its shaft on the same side as the head’s curve. The least girthy of the attachments, the Nanci only has a maximum diameter of 3.2cm / 1.25″, alongside an insertable length of 18.4cm / 7.25″. And as for the colour, this toy is also in mint, with black, lilac and red being available too. Now, whilst I am a big fan of Super Smash Cache’s work, I know from her reviews that our bodies and preferences are very different. The Nanci is a good example of this, as even though I think the shape is a work of genius, I didn’t think it would work for me. So when I inserted this toy and felt the hook head stimulating my G-Spot, I could hardly believe it! Whilst I would still need more of a firm curve in order to get the kind of G-Spot stimulation that I imagine this was intended for, considering how straight the Prime is this is still very impressive, and totally elevates my experience when using the Nanci. It has also made this attachment a fast favourite of mine, and is my recommended head to start with.

Edward

Velvet Thruster Prime Edward

Finally, there is the Edward. This is another realistic-style attachment and the latest release for the Velvet Thruster Prime. Longer than the Jackie and thinner than the Sammie, this toy instead features a slight curve to it, and is much more natural looking in my opinion, featuring far less veins than the other two. With a maximum diameter of 3.8cm / 1.5″ and a insertable length of 20.3cm / 8″, this is also the only toy to shake things up colour-wise, as rather than the classic four options, this toy is only available in a realistic “cashew” skin shade. Whilst it does feel a lot like the Jackie in use, this is definitely my favourite of the two (and second favourite overall), as I just adore that curve and the added stimulation it gives me. I also think this and the more subtle texture adds to the realism, which I also prefer.

The Accessories

Long Reach Handle

Velvet Thruster Prime with Long Reach Handle
A look at the Velvet Thruster Prime without a silicone head. It’s pretty neat!

The Long Reach Handle is a piece of black plastic that screws into the bottom of the Velvet Thruster Prime, making the product more accessible for those with a short reach or those who experience wrist or arm fatigue. With a curve that goes towards you so that you can hold the toy close to your stomach, rather than between your legs, the handle area then uses a ribbed texture to aid grip. Now, whilst I know this attachment wasn’t designed for me as I do not experience these issues, I was really excited to try the Long Reach Handle out and was sure I was going to love it. After all, my arms do get pretty tired from testing all these thruster attachments! But I’ve actually found myself preferring to use the toy without it. It could be because I am so accustomed to using toys like this, but holding onto the handle just feels awkward, and whilst I agree that it needs texture for grip, I can find the prominent ribbing here a little difficult to hold. What’s more, because I am holding onto the handle, I now need to use my second hand in order to press the toy’s buttons, rather than having just one hand on the Prime and using my thumb to adjust the speeds. This might not be an issue for some, but because I like to use clitoral vibrators alongside thrusters, it can be an interruption to my play. Again, this attachment isn’t made for me, and if you find it difficult to hold a toy between your legs I’m sure this will be great, especially as the Prime is longer and heavier (with a weight of 468g without an attachment, and up to 738g with) than your average insertable sex toy. But for anyone like me who just thinks it is a neat idea and is considering adding it to your order, it’s probably not worth it. The one exception to this would be when using the Prime for anal use, such as with the Walter attachment, as the further reach was perfect for this, and much easier than simply holding the handle.

Suction Cup

Velvet Thruster Prime Suction Cup

I was a big fan of the Lovense Gravity’s screw-in suction cup, and it turns out Velvet Thruster were actually the original designers behind that idea, so I was excited to try the Prime’s version. Unfortunately, I think I must have received a dud copy, as the first time I went to use it, the Suction Cup broke off of the screw. This has meant that even if I try my best to stick the screw back where it should be, as soon as I let go of the Prime, it just falls away from the silicone cup and takes the screw with it. Thankfully this is the sort of thing that would be covered by your warranty as a customer, but I am disappointed I can’t try it myself. And while the suction does seem sturdy, without being able to actually put it under the weight of the Prime, I can’t really review it either. Although I will say that I did have concerns about the Suction Cup even before this, as I know from using the Gravity doggy-style how impossible it is to control when suction cupped without an app or remote. And since the Prime has neither, I’m not sure it would have worked out like this anyway.

Cleaning & Care

When I first went to clean the Velvet Thruster Prime and checked the instructions, there was quite a lot of confusion. Multiple times Velvet Thruster mentions that you must “close the charger port plug tightly” when cleaning, but there is no plug! It was only when I recognised that the diagram was not for this toy, but for the Velvet Thruster Mini Series, which does come with a plug, that I realised these instructions are for the wrong toy. I got in contact with the brand to find out what was going on, and was told it was a widespread issue with the Prime’s instructions when I got mine back in March. Anyway, even though I knew the toy was water-resistant, thanks to the website and packaging, this whole thing still made me pretty paranoid, and I was extra careful upon cleaning the Prime’s base for the first time, making sure to only give it a quick rinse with the charging hole facing away from the water stream. You can imagine my horror, then, when later that day the Prime started making electrical sparking noises and leaking black fluid, and upon trying to turn it on… it was dead! Again contacting Velvet Thruster, I was told water must have entered the base through the charging hole, and to allow it to dry out for at least a week. Since I’m usually on a tight schedule with my weekly reviews, I was thankfully able to get it back on the next day after shaking the water out and then letting it charge again, and I have not had any further issues yet. But what happened to the Velvet Thruster Prime being water-resistant? After all, I know that the way I cleaned it should not have affected it to this extent, and for the most expensive sex toy I’ve ever reviewed to die after the first use when simply following the instructions? Well, let’s just say I was not happy. Thankfully, we don’t need to get into this too deeply. The brand also told me that because of this issue, they have since updated the charging port design, with new Prime models now featuring a magnetic-style charger. Of course, I can’t really speak to that as it is not what I have, but at least their warranty will cover anyone with an older model that experiences issues.

As for my cleaning recommendations, I’d suggest starting by removing the silicone attachments. Since these are fully waterproof, you can simply place them in warm soapy water, before washing, rinsing and leaving to air dry, making sure to get all of the water out from inside before using them again. You can also do the same thing with the handle or suction cup if needed. Then, if the base also gets messy, I now leave one of the head attachments on and spray it with a toy cleaner, before wiping it down and leaving to dry, making sure to avoid that charging hole. Additionally, you should only use water-based lubricant with this product, as silicone-based types may damage the material.

Final Thoughts

It’s no question that the Velvet Thruster Prime is one of the most advanced sex toys I have ever tried. But considering its price tag, it had to be. After all, with the base model and just one head costing between $386.6 AUD / $250.99 USD and $409.1 AUD / $265.99 USD at the time of writing, even the minimum price takes the cake for the most expensive sex toy I have ever reviewed. Add the two accessories I received, and this goes up by $89.2 AUD / $58 USD, and if you dare consider the cost of everything I have reviewed here today, then you’re looking at a whopping $872 AUD / $566.94 USD! Needless to say, with a price like that I expect perfection, and perfection this sadly was not. Whilst longer reviews like these are always going to result in more chances for criticism, having the base unit almost die because of incorrect instructions, the Suction Cup attachment just straight up break before I even get to try it, and the power button mysteriously becoming less responsive the more I use it, is more than just a simple flaw. The only saving grace is that Velvet Thruster have at least corrected the water-resistance issue with their new charging port, and that if any of these issues do occur for a customer, you’re covered during the first year. Plus, the time I actually got to spend using the Prime was a delight. I loved trying out the different heads, with the Nanci being my overall winner, and if you want the full thrusting experience, there’s really no substitute for this toy. Yet I did find myself occasionally missing the convenience of the Lovense Gravity’s app remote, as well as its vibrations and quieter operation, and considering it is also significantly less money, it’s still a thruster worthy of your consideration, especially if you aren’t planning on making good use of the Prime’s different attachments. Overall though, whilst it seems Velvet Thruster still has some work to do, they are absolutely headed in the right direction and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.

You can get the Prime and all its attachments directly from Velvet Thruster starting at just $386.6 AUD / $250.99 USD, plus use my code GRACE25 to get 25% OFF your total order!

One of my most requested sex toys this year, I first started teasing this collaboration with Velvet Brands back in May, and figured I couldn’t let the…

Review: Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust

Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust

I love working directly with manufacturers. Not only does it mean I get to work alongside the people who actually make the product, but it can also mean I get access to brand new products that might have not even hit the stores yet. So, recently when I saw Rocks Off put out a call for reviewers for their newest toy range, I was super eager to be a part of it. I was then lucky enough to get chosen, and sent a list of items to choose from. This was a tough decision, but ultimately my love for clitoral toys won out, and I requested the Rocks Off Unihorn and Purple Heart, two fantastic looking clitoral vibrators. Today I am just reviewing the Unihorn, but look out for my Purple Heart review in the coming weeks.

Product Description

The Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust is by far the most gorgeous clit vibe I have ever owned, and easily one of my most beautiful sex toys in general. It’s only a simple design, but the gradient of colours used on it make it look absolutely magical. Aside from its appearance it is a relatively simple clit vibe, without any special features or functions. It is made from hard reflective plastic, which feels really nice to the touch, and is shaped to represent a unicorn’s horn. At its larger end is a single button for controlling its 10 settings, and two finger-sized dents which I assume is for ease of holding. A seam separates the horn and larger end, and this is the battery compartment. This can be easily opened by twisting the toy, and it uses one AAA battery (which is included). The button itself is very pronounced and features the Rocks Off logo, and I really like this in particular as it feels good to press down. Finally, the toy is waterproof and comes with a 12 month guarantee.

The Brand

Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust

Rocks Off are a UK based company who create all sorts of amazing, body-safe toys. They mostly sell electronic toys such as vibrators, and even toys that would usually not be electronic always seem to have a bullet vibe snuck into them. I have actually reviewed a product from Rocks Off before back in 2015 for Cara Sutra’s Pleasure Panel. It was the Butt Quiver, a large silicone butt plug that also came with their best-selling RO-80mm bullet vibe. Despite its “5 million sold” fame, I wasn’t super impressed by that bullet, and found it quite weak and buzzy. So when agreeing to these items I was quite excited to learn just how much Rocks Off had improved since my last review.

Packaging

My order with Rocks Off was placed on the 22nd of November, and I received the package on the 27th of November, which is the fastest I have ever received anything from the UK or overseas. In fact, that’s quicker than most domestic post I get! Unfortunately, the package was not discreet at all, with the sender being listed as Rocks Off and the product as ‘Electrical Vibratory Massage Appliance’. Even though Rocks Off are a manufacturer, they also sell their products online and have a 100% discreet shipping policy, so I was surprised to see this. Perhaps they send review items differently than they do for actual customers. Either way this is something to be cautious about if discreet delivery is important to you.

Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust in Box

The packaging for the Rocks Off Unihorn was very similar to my previous Rocks Off item. It comes with a white sleeve with just the name of the toy on it to keep things discreet, which I love, and then under this is the actual packaging. This is a very luxurious box, with a stunning lace-like pattern on it that has been printed with a varnish so it shines in light. The product can then be viewed through the clear plastic on the front, and on the back is all sorts of information about the toy. Inside the box is the toy itself, a small booklet on instructions and the warranty, and a piece of card that contains further instructions. The booklet and card are actually hidden in the back of the box, so make sure to look for them when receiving any Rocks Off products and not just throw away the box (I almost missed them completely)! The box itself is a good size, and could be easily used for storage purposes if you wished.

Controls

Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust Button

Since the Rocks Off Unihorn only features one button, using it is rather easy and intuitive. I particularly like the button itself, as I have found with similar low-price vibrators that the buttons can often feel unpleasant to press or don’t properly ‘click’, making it hard to know whether you have successfully pressed it or not. But this button is big, squishy, and has a loud and satisfying ‘click’ when you press it down. The toy has 10 settings, 3 of which are steady speeds, and 7 of which are patterns. To use the toy just press the button once, which will always start it on the first steady speed, and then pressing the button again will let you cycle through the 10 speeds before going back to the first. To turn off the toy just hold down the button for a few seconds. I love everything about how this toy works, and it is ideal for me. 3 steady speeds is a good amount, and while I don’t use patterns at least 7 isn’t too crazy of a number. I also love that it always starts on the steady speeds, as it means if I am edging and want to reduce the speed all I have to do is turn it off and on again, rather than having to click through all of the speeds just to get back to it (like the We-Vibe Tango). I found I didn’t even need to read the instructions to use this toy, as it was just simple to understand and very user friendly.

First Impressions

Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust Battery Compartment Open

As soon as I turned the Rocks Off Unihorn on it was clear that this was more of the buzzy than rumbly variety of vibrator. Some people prefer buzzy vibes, but sadly I am not one of them, so I was a little disappointed to find this toy in that category.  The vibrations also aren’t very strong, although because the toy is made with hard ABS plastic they do feel quite powerful, so I wasn’t too bothered by this. Additionally, I find the Unihorn a little more high pitched in noise than some of my other bullet vibes like the We-Vibe Tango and Nu Sensuelle Point, but not so much that this was annoying or a worry when it came to privacy.

My Experience

Since the Rocks Off Unihorn is on the buzzy side, I was fairly worried about how my rumble-loving clit would find it. Unfortunately I found my worrying to be justified, as I have a hard time enjoying this vibe. The vibrations feel like they just reach the surface of my clit, and don’t penetrate deep enough to stimulate myself properly. I do receive some pleasure from it though, and can orgasm from using it, but it just takes far longer than it would normally take me to climax from using a vibrator, and the orgasms are far weaker. I find it works best during PIV sex or when I am also using other toys, as this way it combines with the additional stimulation I am receiving to feel far more powerful.

Cleaning & Care

Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust

Cleaning this toy couldn’t be easier since it is waterproof and made with body-safe ABS plastic. Just wash it in some warm soapy water and then rinse. You can then leave it to air dry or towel dry it, and return it to storage. To increase the life of its battery it is also recommended to remove this prior to storage.

Final Thoughts

Everything about the Rocks Off Unihorn was perfect for me, except its vibrations. But it’s important to point out that while I dislike buzzy vibrations, some people enjoy them, so while this toy was not for me I’m sure there any many people who are going to adore it. If you know you like buzzy vibrations then I would definitely recommend this toy to you, and if you are new to vibrators and not sure about your preferences then I would still recommend this as you’ll likely be more sensitive to the vibrations than I am. Plus, it looks gorgeous, is easy to clean, is waterproof, is intuitive to use, and is quite cheap! The only real downside to it is that it’s battery operated, but since the battery is included when you buy it even I wasn’t too bothered by this. If you do want something more rumbly then I would recommend checking out my We-Vibe Tango and Nu Sensuelle Point reviews, but these sorts of toys do cost more money. Despite what my clitoris thinks, this toy has been a pleasure to review and is certainly one of the most attractive sex toys I have ever owned.

Sadly, the Rocks Off Unihorn has now been discontinued.

Mini Review: Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb

Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb and Box

It’s been a few years now since I’ve written a ‘Mini Review’ for the blog, a category previously reserved for Toy Cleaners. But recently I’ve acquired a few items as gifts, that while I’m under no obligation to write about and that aren’t even really substantial enough as a product to give a regular review to, I still want to share my thoughts on. As such, Mini Reviews are probably something that will become a bit more regular on the blog now! First up is a product I received from Lovehoney recently to celebrate Sexual Happiness Week, the Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb.

I am a bit obsessed with bath bombs. I haven’t had my own tub for a few years now, which is probably a good thing since I use to spend most of my money at Lush when I did. But I still always make sure to buy myself one whenever I am visiting my Mum’s house (who does have a tub). So when I saw Lovehoney had sent me their very own version, I was beyond excited. Plus, not only is it a bath bomb, but it also has a “sexy surprise” inside for extra fun once the bomb has done its job.

Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb Box

There are two versions of the Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb, For Her, and For Him, and I received the For Her version. I really hate this gendered language and think it’s very unnecessary. Essentially the difference between the two versions is that the For Her comes with a clitoral style finger-vibe, while the For Him comes with a cock ring style vibe. Then, in keeping with the out-dated gendering of the toys, the clit vibe is pink whilst the cock ring is blue. Both have what looks like the same simple bullet vibrator made from ABS plastic, but the difference stems from the TPR sleeve that the vibe fits into.

The Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb is part of the Lovehoney Oh! collection, which is their fun gift style range. As such the packaging for the product is designed to look like a gift, with a colourful wrapping paper style design, and printed bow and gift-tag style logo. It’s not obvious from the box that this product includes a vibrator, and this is only something you find out upon reading the fine-print on the back of the box, which makes it pretty discreet. Inside the box the bath bomb is first wrapped in bubble-wrap, to ensure it stays in one piece during transport, and it is then wrapped in a tight plastic to ensure it stays fresh until opening.

Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb When First Put Into Bath

Dropping the Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb into my bath was a little lacklustre, and didn’t have any immediately crazy effects like some do. According to the box the bath bomb has a “sensual fragrance [that] will soothe your senses, while the blissful bubbles will reveal a whole new world of relaxation”. In terms of fragrance I didn’t experience much, other than a slight musky smell, and in regards to bubbles there was barely any (which you can see from my photos). There was no effect on the water colour either, although it did make the water a bit more soothing on my skin which left it feeling soft. Overall this bath bomb didn’t come close to the Lush style ones I am so accustomed to, but it was better than nothing.

Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb With Vibrator Showing

About five minutes after putting it into the water I could start to see the vibrator peeking through the bomb, which was inside a little plastic egg to keep it safe. The anticipation as to what the toy would be (I had not looked into this product online as I wanted to be genuinely surprised) was very exciting, and I really enjoying slowly watching the bomb dissolve until I could finally get to the toy, which happened around the ten minute mark. I was really happy with the style of toy that was inside, as a clitoral vibrator is definitely what I was hoping for. While the jelly-style material the sleeve is made out of was a little disappointing as it’s not body-safe, for a Lovehoney product only costing $25 I was not at all surprised by this. One thing that did make me a little nervous however, was that to turn the toy on I had to open the battery compartment to remove the safety paper, which is not a fun activity to do in the bath!

Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb Clitoral Vibrator

Even though this type of vibrator is the sort I would never normally go near even if you paid me (literally), I really enjoyed using it in this novelty setting. The bullet vibrator only has one setting, which is buzzy as hell, but I enjoyed using it anyway and even managed to orgasm with it. The sleeve also felt great, and I found that I really enjoyed using it with my finger inserted instead of the vibrator. I’ve long wanted a silicone finger sleeve to aid masturbation, and so if this had been made from a body-safe material it would have been a real winner for me. One thing I also enjoyed about the bullet vibe is that you didn’t need to fully ‘click’ the button to turn on the vibrations, instead you could just lightly press it to turn the vibrations on and off instantaneously. As I mentioned before I had to use this product at my Mum’s house to access the bath tub, so having the ability to turn the vibrations off quickly was fantastic. On the topic of discretion, the vibrator also wasn’t too loud, so you need not worry about using this if you’re in a similar situation to me.

Overall, both of the products in the Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb were pretty lame. But, in using them together in this novelty setting? I really enjoyed it. I would 100% recommend this as a fun gift for someone, especially if they don’t already own any sex toys, as it would be a really playful and relaxed way to introduce it to them.

Sadly, the Lovehoney Oh! Bath Bomb For Her has now been discontinued.

Review: ZALO Amorette – Princess Previews

ZALO Amorette with case

I have been lusting after ZALO’s Sweet Magic line for years. You see, unlike most other toy brands, ZALO splits their products into collections, which are each inspired by a different theme. Since I tend to review new products though, so far I’ve only tried their latest range, the Legend Series, which takes its aesthetic cues from ancient Egypt. I loved those products and they really helped to establish ZALO as one of the best companies in the industry, but really it just made me want to try the Sweet Magic line even more. Based on the anime magical girls I grew up with, like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, I felt like these toys were made for me. But despite all this, Sweet Magic is a fairly old range, and as such it seemed unlikely I would be asked to review anything from it. So you can imagine my excitement when ZALO recently announced they would be adding a new toy to the collection! Plus, not just any toy, but the Amorette, an absolutely beautiful egg-style vibrator that truly looks like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

Product Description

The ZALO Amorette, or Amour as it was previously called before a recent name change, is truly unique. Saying that about sex toys can be a bit cliche and is often overused, even by me, but this is a case where I really mean it. It has a small pale-pink egg-shaped body that features two wings which constantly remind me of the ones featured on Cardcaptor Sakura’s staff. ZALO’s usual silky soft silicone (which is also surprisingly lint-free) then covers it entirely, whilst the thin and curved tail-like cord that stems from the side opposite the wings has a round ball at the end, which is where the toy’s single button, and ZALO logo, can be found. Other than the small and necessary USB charging port on the toy’s underside, the Amorette is visually faultless and easily the cutest sex toy I’ve ever seen, let alone owned. But it’s not just its aesthetic appearance that sets this toy apart from the rest, and that’s what makes it really special.

ZALO Amorette

I mentioned before that the ZALO Amorette is an egg-style vibrator, however that is quite a simplification of this versatile product. Like an egg vibrator you can place this toy inside yourself for internal stimulation, whilst the cord hangs outside for easy retrieval. However, not only does this toy vibrate, but its wings also swing back and forth quickly for added stimulation, similar to ZALO’s PulseWave technology that they previously used in the HERO. The intention here is then that the wings are then able to internally stimulate your G-Spot, whilst you’re also receiving pleasure from the vibrations. Plus, whilst the Amorette does come with a remote like most other egg vibrators, you can also control it with the button at the end of its cord, which is a smart feature I haven’t seen before. Then, in addition to internal use, this toy is also designed to be used externally on the clitoris, either via the vibrations or the wing’s flicking motions. Despite all this great stuff, unfortunately the Amorette is not anal-safe and whilst it is waterproof ZALO recommend a maximum immersion of less than 30 minutes and depth of less than 1 meter / 3 feet.

Custom Case

Another element that makes the ZALO Amorette so impressive is its storage case, which is on a whole other level from anything you may have received with a toy before. Firstly, as with all of ZALO’s products it is beautiful and follows the Sweet Magic theme perfectly, with a pink and gold colour scheme and picture of cupid shooting an arrow embedded into it. The lid is then held closed magnetically, but opening it up lets you place the Amorette inside for storage, where it fits neatly. I love everything about this design, as its small size means it would be great for travel, its strong magnets mean it won’t open accidentally, and its appearance means it’s extremely unlikely to be recognised as a sex toy. But the best bit about this case is that it is also the product’s remote control, and as such on its underside are three buttons. However it gets even cooler… because with this remote you don’t even need the buttons, because it has the ability to use motion control, meaning all you need to do is move the remote around, kind of like a Nintendo Wii Remote, for it to alter the toy’s vibrations. Plus, if this isn’t enough then the Amorette is also compatible with ZALO’s phone application.

Packaging

ZALO Amorette packaging

ZALO sent the Amorette out to me on the 8th of November and I promptly received it on the 13th. Unfortunately the box was not very discreet though, as it had Handheld massager” listed as the contents, and “Zalo Health Care” listed as the sender. ZALO are well known for their luxurious packaging, which is some of the best in the industry, so I was pretty excited to see what they had in store for the Amorette. However, I have to say I feel a little let down, as even though I can’t fault the packaging, it is definitely not what I expected from this brand. Presented in a simple plastic box featuring the Sweet Magic style branding and information on the toy, you’re able to see the Amorette prior to opening it through a clear window. Once opened you can then remove the product and its case, as well as a simple instruction manual and charging cord. While the simplicity of both the packaging and the product’s accessories isn’t really what I expected from ZALO, I know that the Amorette is supposed to be their first budget-friendly sex toy, so perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised that this isn’t as luxurious as I’ve come to expect from the brand. Plus, while it doesn’t come with ZALO’s typical warranty cards, this toy does still come with a one year warranty.

Charging

Charging the ZALO Amorette is easy since it is USB rechargeable. Just plug one end of the charging cord into the hole on the toy and the other end into a USB port. When charging a light on the toy should flash, and when it’s done the light will remain solid. Charging should then take 1 hour, and this should give you 1-2 hours of playtime. While these charging times are impressive, I will say that I have had multiple issues where the toy has either been dead when I’ve gone to use it or where it has died during use, despite being on a full charge. This has certainly made my testing of it frustrating, and suggests that either mine is faulty or that its battery isn’t as powerful as it’s supposed to be. In addition, while the Amorette itself is USB rechargeable, the remote control is operated via a CR2032 battery, which comes with the product.

Controls

Since the ZALO Amorette only has a single button for manual control it is pretty easy to use and understand without referring to the instructions. To start, just click the button once, which will put the toy into stand-by mode, as indicated by blinking its light. While I generally dislike stand-by modes because they’re easy to forget about and thus have the potential to drain the battery, I admit they are sometimes necessary for remote controlled toys. Due to this, however, I do at least wish that the light on the Amorette was a bit more obvious. After turning it on you can then click through the toy’s five modes, two of which are steady speeds and three of which are patterns, before returning to stand-by mode. Now, when it comes to clitoral toys I never see just two steady speeds as acceptable, but what makes this worse is that these two speeds are then split-up between the patterns (as the toy modes go: steady speed > pattern > steady speed > pattern > pattern). It always boggles my mind whenever toy companies do this, because it alienates people who don’t enjoy patterns, which seems to be the vast majority of us.

The Remote

After being completely unimpressed with the controls using the toy manually, I was extremely thankful and relieved to see that not only does the remote offer more methods of control, but also has far more vibration options. To connect the two, first you must put both into stand-by mode, and on the remote this is achieved by clicking the button with the ZALO logo and indicated by flashing lights. After a few seconds the two will connect, which will be indicated by the toy vibrating quickly and the lights on the two becoming steady, before automatically placing the toy into its first vibration mode. Typically connection is quick and without issue, although every now and then I do have trouble with it. When using the remote there is then 6 modes to choose from, which you can access by continuing to click the logo button, the first being the motion control, and then one steady speed and four patterns. The best bit about the remote though is that you can use the plus and minus buttons to change the intensities of all the modes (besides the motion control) by five levels, and the level you are on is indicated by the lights on the remote. So this means using the remote essentially gives you access to 25 different modes (again, not counting the motion control), within which there are five different steady speeds. I’m obviously super happy about this and as such I really only use the Amorette when I am also able to control it with its remote. My only complaint, however, is that rather than having the steady speed be the first of the vibration modes after the motion control like you’d expect, it’s in the middle of the pattern modes.

Motion Control

ZALO Amorette back of case

In regards to the motion control, well, I have to admit it is a little all over the place. The idea for it was that when holding the remote flat the vibrations would run on their lowest speed, and the more you turned it the higher they would become. This idea does work, but I think perhaps the remote is too sensitive because the speeds are constantly jumping up and down even if you’re barely moving the remote. Overall I think using it like this could be a lot of fun with your partner, but it’s more of a gimmick than anything and I can’t see anyone seriously using it like this in order to help themselves orgasm. I will admit though that it is pretty neat to see the little wings move in correspondence to how I move the remote.

The App

Even though it has been less than a year since my original tests of ZALO’s phone application, which I discuss in my ZALO Queen Set review, I was certain that the app must have had a major update in that time, because it was so bad before. Shockingly, however, the app is exactly the same as it was back then, and so there isn’t much point in me reviewing it again. In regards to the Amorette it adds nothing new, and I find it easier to simply use the remote control instead.

First Impressions

Upon turning the toy on for the first time there were a few things I immediately noticed. Firstly, while certainly still on the buzzy side of things, the vibrations are a lot stronger than I expected. Next, while the ZALO HERO used the brand’s proprietary PulseWave technology, which had its own motor independent from the vibrations, it seems that instead the Amorette simply uses the residual motion from its vibrations to create the movement of its wings, which is a cheaper, and in my opinion inferior, way of doing things. This idea is reinforced by the fact that the PulseWave technology isn’t featured in the advertising for the Amorette and that the vibrations and stimulation modes cannot be operated independently, which is also likely why the vibrations on the toy are so unexpectedly strong. Another difference I then noticed between the Amorette and similar products, such as the ZALO HERO and SVAKOM Siren, is that while those toys have quite a large swing width, the Amorette’s wings only have a very small range of movement. This is likely an intentional design rather than a fault however, and due to the size of the Amorette’s wings and the spacing between them, which doesn’t really allow for any more movement than what it has. Despite this, it does mean that the Amorette has a vastly smaller area of stimulation than other toys, and this combined with the fact that the movement is only being caused by the residual vibrations will likely mean that it is not as intense as what I am use to. Finally, in regards to noise level I did find the Amorette louder than I would have liked, but I believe it would be quiet enough to not be heard behind a closed door, especially during internal use.

My Experience

Since using toys externally is my preferred method this is where I started with my tests of the ZALO Amorette. I found placing the wings over my clitoris relatively easy despite how small they are, and unlike similar toys where it takes awhile for me to warm up enough to use them due to the intensity, I am able to use the Amorette straight-away. While that’s good in that regard, it does instantly show the difference between the Amorette’s intensity compared to toys like the ZALO HERO or SVAKOM Siren, and as such I haven’t been able to orgasm from the Amorette’s wings alone. However, I have found them to be brilliant for foreplay and warming up, and then when I want to up the ante I just move the toy so its whole body is against me, rather than just the wing tips, which allows me to enjoy the vibrations as well and thus reach orgasm. Overall I have enjoyed using the Amorette in this way, although since I need two hands to hold it and its remote, it does limit how I can use it. Another issue worth mentioning is then that the curved tail makes this toy quite difficult to hold on your clitoris, as it never seems to cease getting in the way, which can be quite frustrating.

ZALO Amorette in case

Next I tested the toy out internally, although I have to admit I was a little concerned about using it in this way. I am not a big fan of internal vibrations and I’ve often found egg vibrators do nothing for me. Plus, while this toy’s whole thing is to use its wings to stimulate the G-Spot, my G-Spot is further back than most and often doesn’t work with a lot of toys. I was excited to try it anyway though, as I’d love to find a toy like this that does work for me, although it unfortunately quickly became obvious upon inserting the Amorette that my worries were founded, as to be honest I can’t really feel anything when this toy is inside of me. There is certainly a little bit of a tickling feeling when I move it around with the string, which means it’s likely near my G-Spot, but that’s about it. It is fun to use alongside a clitoral toy however, as I think the extra stimulation it gives me helps to achieve a more intense orgasm, but I’d never be able to achieve anything from it on its own.

Lastly, while I did thoroughly enjoy using the remote to control the toy and the extra options it gave me, I do have to note that more than once it either fully disconnected from the toy during use or quickly disconnected and then reconnected, which would revert the toy to its first mode.

Cleaning & Care

Since the ZALO Amorette is made from silicone and is waterproof, cleaning it is easy. Just wash it down with some soapy water (although if submerging it be careful to not do so for too long), rinse it, and then leave to air dry. After this you can return it to its storage case. If the storage case also gets dirty then you can just wipe this down too, but be careful to not get it too wet as it is not waterproof. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

I’ve got to be honest: if I were to close my eyes and forget the visual beauty of this toy before being asked if it was any good, the answer would be a huge no. While unique and innovative, there are numerous issues with this product, with the biggest being that it doesn’t really bring me much pleasure. Obviously my opinion about its internal use is very biased, as those types of toys simply don’t work for me, and as such aren’t designed for me. But I can only speak from my own experience, and it hasn’t been a great one. However, is it bad that I really don’t care?? I love cute things, and fill my house with them regardless of what they actually do for me. So, since the ZALO Amorette is easily the cutest toy I’ve ever owned and is immensely nostalgic for me since I’ve been a fan of magical girls for my whole life, it’s going to be loved by me regardless of whether it’s actually any good or not! As for my recommendation however, I can’t really give one, unless, of course, you’re also buying it for the aesthetic.

Sadly, the ZALO Amorette has now been discontinued.

Review: Vibe Pad – Princess Previews

Vibe Pad with remote

My passion project for the last few months, a huge round-up of some of the industry’s best grinding sex toys, is now out to the world. But with such a diverse range of products already making up this emerging trend, there was more than a few toys I was interested in including that just didn’t make the cut. One of them had to be the intriguing Vibe Pad from ORION Wholesale, which one of the round-up’s main contributors, Nudie Co, had just recently gotten in stock. However, whilst very much a grinder just like the toys in that post, it was at the same time completely different, and ultimately it was left out, feeling too unique to be adequately compared to the others. Thankfully for everyone though, Nudie Co were still kind enough to send one out, so that I might give it a review of its own!

Product Description

Out of the hundreds of sex toys in my collection, the Vibe Pad stands out as something totally new and different. The idea was first coined by fellow sex blogger Tabitha Rayne, who in 2015 released the Ruby Glow with Rocks Off. I still remember how big of a deal a hands-free “seated vibrator” was at the time, and it rightfully won awards and praise for its wonderful level of accessibility. These days, however, it has become the inspiration for a number of other rideable vibrators, and the Vibe Pad is the first I have had the chance to try. The big difference here, though, is the “Pad” element, which ORION take quite literally with a wide piece of thin silicone surrounding the vibrator to improve grip.

Vibe Pad close up

With two prominent bumps, one being larger than the other, amidst an otherwise flat surface, the Vibe Pad is effectively a contoured saddle designed to fit your body. Two motors, one in each bump, are then present, allowing you to choose your preferred direction or use both at once for an all-over experience. With a length of 29cm / 11.4″ and a width of 20.5cm / 8″, it is then quite large, despite only having a maximum height of 4.5cm / 1.8″, and in this case it is somewhat reminiscent of the Sybian-style sex machines you can buy. Although the reason I have never tested one of those is due to not having enough space for it in my small apartment, and so the Vibe Pad essentially works as a much more compact version, perfect for people like me. Silky smooth PU-coated body-safe silicone then covers the surface, although the bumps are completely firm, and underneath you’ll find the Vibe Pad’s charging hole, logo, and a single button. Considering this placement, it is then a good thing that the toy also comes with a two-button wireless remote, so you can actually control it during use. A downside is then that the only colour it comes in is purple, but the upside is that it is fully waterproof for play in the bath or shower. Finally, the Vibe Pad is USB rechargeable and it is designed to be used by anyone, regardless of gender.

The Brand

Since it is my first time reviewing a toy from ORION, I just wanted to take a moment to talk about them before continuing on. Traditionally a wholesaler of adult products for the European market, ORION offers a number of my favourite brands, from Doxy and Hot Octopuss to SVAKOM and Snail Vibe. But they also manufacture a few toys themselves, and the Vibe Pad is one of them. One of their most anticipated toys, it launched to the German company in late 2019, and has recently been succeeded by the Vibe Pad 2, which includes a warming function and a small tongue-like flap to provide licking-style stimulation (which I personally don’t love the look of). Whilst consumers cannot buy directly from ORION, their website is always a great place to find new and popular types of toys, many of which you’ll then be able to purchase at your local sex toy retailer.

Packaging

Vibe Pad packaging
The front of the Vibe Pad’s packaging. Click here for a look at the interior and “instructions”.

My order with Nudie Co for the Vibe Pad was placed on the 20th of April and I received it on the 28th. The package was then 100% discreet, with no mention of what was inside or who sent it, and as usual Nudie Co had beautifully gift wrapped it, with the box containing a handwritten thank you card, some candy, and dried flowers. Being my first product from ORION, I then wasn’t sure what to expect from the box of the Vibe Pad itself, and what I found I definitely could not have anticipated. Coming in a large cardboard box, which is understandable since it’s a big toy, the packaging features full-body nudity on both the front and inside, which, while fine, isn’t something I am use to seeing and gave me a surprise when unboxing it live on Instagram! A mix of German and English then covers the box, and the front can be opened up to offer a look at the toy through clear plastic on one side and read its instructions on the other side. Once the top is opened, you can then access the Vibe Pad itself, alongside its remote control, charging cord, manual (although this is more like a generic ORION safety booklet and does not feature any information specific to the Vibe Pad), and a battery for the remote. Overall I am happy with this, although obviously if you’re looking for discretion, this is not it. Plus, having the instructions written on the box, and next to a very NSFW image at that, is definitely a bit awkward, as its size means it’s probably not the sort of thing you want to keep. Finally, the Vibe Pad also comes with a one year warranty.

Charging

Vibe Pad remote battery compartment

Since the Vibe Pad is USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply flip it over to access the charging hole on its underside, and plug one end of the charging cord in here and the other end into a USB port. When charging a light next to the hole and on the top will begin to flash, and these lights will become steady once complete. Charging should then take 120 minutes, and will give you approximately 130 minutes of play time, however I have had it run out of charge during testing much sooner than this.

As for the remote, this is battery powered and takes one A23 battery, which you’ll need to insert by sliding off the back cover. This is included with the toy, however after only two testing sessions with the Vibe Pad (totaling maybe under an hour of use), I found that the provided battery no longer worked. This is quite frustrating, especially since A23 isn’t a very typical battery type, so I had to make a special trip just to find a replacement. I presume that I may have just gotten a dud, although something that might have contributed is that once you turn the remote on, there is no way to turn it off again without it first being connected to the Vibe Pad. But the last time I used the remote before the battery died, I was unable to connect the remote to the toy since the Vibe Pad had also ran out of charge, and so I had no choice but to leave it in standby mode. For how long this lasted I am unsure, but apparently long enough to drain whatever was left of the battery.

Controls

Vibe Pad remote

Controlling the Vibe Pad is relatively simple, although due to the lack of indication regarding what the buttons do, especially on the remote where the dual controls feature the same symbol, it can be a little tricky when getting started. Plus, when I was initially having trouble I tried referring to the instructions, which do not contain any relevant information, and it was only later that I realised the actual instructions are on the box, even if these are also quite confusing. Basically though, to turn the toy on, you must press the button on its back once, which will place it in stand-by mode. Continuing to click this button will then activate both motors simultaneously, and let you cycle through their seven modes, with three being steady speeds and four being patterns. Alternatively, at any time when the toy is on, you may switch to controlling it with the remote, which is much preferred since you won’t be able to access the manual button during use. Here, you can turn the remote on by clicking either button, and then use the button at the top of the remote to control the larger bump, and the button closer to the toy’s logo to control the smaller bump. You’ll then have access to the same number of vibration modes, but it will mean you can control the two motors independently of each other. Finally, to turn the toy off you can hold down any of the three buttons for three seconds, but do keep in mind that if you turn it off with the remote, you’ll need to get off and use the button underneath the Vibe Pad to get it back on again. Overall I am happy with all of this, and I would say the only downside is not having the toy return to standby mode when turned off with the remote, so that you can pause and unpause it without having to move from your seat.

First Impressions

Being my first toy from ORION and my first rideable toy, I really had no idea to expect from the Vibe Pad. But I figured there wasn’t much room for excuses, since there is ample space for two well-sized motors. Turning it on, I was then quite impressed, finding powerful and rumbly vibrations within. Between the two bumps I would say the motors are the same, despite the size differences, but this works well to keep things feeling consistent. As for the noise level, this is then quite reasonable, especially considering the size of it and how strong the vibrations are, and it also lessens once pressure is applied during use. So while I wouldn’t go so far as to call the Vibe Pad “whisper quiet”, I think with a closed door and maybe some music, any housemates would be none the wiser.

My Experience

Until my recent Grinder Round-Up, I had not masturbated upright in years, so I was quite excited for the chance to take it up another notch with the Vibe Pad. The first thing I did was lay it on my bed for use, but it quickly became obvious that I wasn’t able to sit on it properly like this. So, taking note of the in-use pictures on the box, I decided to instead place it on the corner of the bed, so that my legs could hang over the edge. This worked perfectly, allowing me to sit directly on it and use my legs to help grind if I need to, and has since become my favourite place to use the Grind Pad. The saddle-like bumps are then quite comfortable, fitting my body perfectly, and also provide a great anchor to ensure it can’t slide away from me. Next up it’s time to turn the vibrations on, and this is equally as great, being super rumbly and strong enough to really stimulate me, and by sitting on it I am still able to achieve the usual force that I am use to, although if I do want more then it is very easy to pull the front towards you. My main focus is then on the clitoral vibrations, which I use the larger of the two bumps for, and while I haven’t really found the smaller bump to offer much on its own (it is located just under my anus), having the vibrations on for this as well just adds to the whole experience. You can then sit and let the vibrations do their thing (which is so freeing in a way, as it requires zero effort on your part), or you can grind against it for even more sensation, and either way strong orgasms are sure to follow. Plus, another aspect of the Vibe Pad I have enjoyed (especially since it is winter where I am), is that it is able to be used whilst wearing clothes. So this, combined with how little effort it requires in general, has to make the Vibe Pad the easiest toy to use that I’ve ever tried, and certainly goes to show why these types of toys are so often lauded for their accessibility.

Vibe Pad charging

While I don’t usually test toys in the bath unless it’s a particularly prominent part of their abilities, I thought I would give the waterproof Vibe Pad a go considering this cold start to winter has me having a lot of them anyway. Unfortunately though, the toy ran out of battery just as I was about to start using it, so I didn’t really get to try it out. In the short time I did have it in the water though, I noticed a pretty glaring issue. The moment the Vibe Pad was submerged, the remote could no longer connect to it and control the vibrations. So this might be something to keep in mind if you are planning to use it underwater, as you won’t be able to easily change the vibrations or turn off the toy.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Vibe Pad is easy since it is waterproof. Simply wipe it down with some warm soapy water, rinse, and then leave to air dry. As for the remote, I’m unsure whether this is waterproof, so I’d suggest just giving it a light wipe if it’s gotten messy too. Also, don’t forget that since this is made out of silicone, you cannot use silicone based lubricant with it.

Final Thoughts

Trying out new types of toys for the first time can be a real mixed bag, but the simplicity of the Vibe Pad has made it a real winner in my eyes. Feeling as if it’s something that should have existed for a lot longer, it takes all the fun of a Sybian / Cowgirl (at least the external versions) and provides it in a size and price that is both accessible and convenient for the masses. Not only was it a fun way to shake up my regular masturbation, but using it was as easy as just sitting down on a chair and pressing a few buttons. I didn’t even need to take my pants off! And I can only imagine what this would mean for people with limited mobility or who have trouble using regular vibrators for whatever reason. While it wasn’t a perfect toy, from my issues with the remote to it not holding its charge as long as expected, I do feel these things can be forgiven, as I’ve had a great time testing it regardless. Plus, while there’s no doubt it’s expensive, I also think that it’s a good price considering how unique an item it is. So, while I hope to see more seated toys in the future that improve upon the Vibe Pad, I can happily recommend it to anyone looking to invest in a hands-free vibrator now.

However, whilst very much a grinder just like the toys in that post, it…
