Review: Womanizer DUO – Princess Previews

Womanizer DUO

It’s no secret that the last few months have been quite difficult, and if I’m being completely honest… I’m still not ready to accept that it’s no longer March. But there are a few things in my life that I’ve been able to turn to during the worst moments to feel a little bit of happiness, and some of those things have been sex toys. Three products in particular have been brightening my mood lately, with each lending itself to different situations. There is the Magic Wand Rechargeable, which works either solo or with my partner as an easy way to achieve a quick but satisfying orgasm, the Dame Kip, which helps me to have some amazing orgasms during PIV sex with my partner, and lastly the Womanizer Premium, a truly breathtaking solo-play toy which has quickly become my personal favourite. In fact, whilst it’s only been a few months since I originally reviewed the Premium, it feels like forever, and I think I’ve already had more orgasms with this toy than most people do in a lifetime. So, when Womanizer recently reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try their DUO, which is essentially an upgraded version of the Premium, it was just about the best thing that’s happened to me in months.

Background

As Womanizer’s most expensive product, the DUO has certainly caught my eye a few times since I started reviewing their products last year. A successor to the Womanizer InsideOut, which saw the brand first attempt to pair their signature suction technology with vibrations, the DUO takes the same concept but improves upon it with the knowledge they gained when they partnered with We-Vibe. Taking notes from the rumbly motors this legendary brand is known for, as well as the much-loved shape of their Nova vibrator, the Womanizer DUO is as much as a We-Vibe toy as the We-Vibe Melt is a Womanizer toy. As such, I had multiple reasons to be excited for this product, especially since my last (and only) review on a dual-stimulation suction toy didn’t go so well. But where the Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit went wrong, I feel the Womanizer DUO excels, with an entirely different design that seems far more promising.

Product Description

Womanizer DUO

The Womanizer DUO, like the Premium, is a toy that embodies luxury. Its sleek and ergonomic body is a pleasure just to look at, and that’s before you even begin to feel the soft and silky silicone that covers it entirely. Currently only available in two colour options, Black Gold (which is what I have) and Bordeaux (fancy red), I do hope that it gets the same treatment as the Premium and is re-released in a wider range of colours soon. Featuring six buttons, five being on the front and one being on the back, the DUO also has a Womanizer logo etched into the silicone at its very top, and this is located right next to the magnetic charging plates. A small strip of gold plastic that surrounds the logo, charging area and back button, then helps to further emphasis the relation between this toy and the Premium, which has a similar feature. The actual body of the DUO is then quite large, and this is broken up by the long curved internal arm, which ends in a bulbous but tapered head for ultimate G-Spot stimulation whilst still keeping insertion easy. While firm in some areas, such as the head, I was glad to find that the G-Spot arm does have some areas of squish, particularly around its middle, as well as some flexibility. Then, as for the suction area, this toy features a removal silicone nozzle, and an alternative size is also included, similar to what was provided with the Premium. On that note, another familiar feature that I was delighted to see on the DUO is Smart Silence, a newer concept that I’ve absolutely loved on both the Premium and We-Vibe Wand. Finally, as with all good sex toys this product is also USB rechargeable, fully waterproof, and body-safe.

Packaging

Womanizer DUO Box

Womanizer sent the DUO out to me for review personally so I won’t go into the shipping details. The packaging for the product was then quite similar to the Premium’s, although whereas the box for that was quite elaborate with multiple magnetic doors, this is a fair bit more simple. While still very indulgent, this box is more traditional and the contents can just be pulled out to the side without any kind of flair. As with the Premium the box colour palette then relates to the colour option you have chosen for the toy, whilst a clear window allows you to see the product prior to opening. Information about the DUO then covers the rest of the box, and the use of raised gold text and a ribbon handle help to further emphasis the luxury element, whilst carefully placed security seals allow you feel secure in the knowledge that no one has tampered with the product. Inside you’ll then find the DUO itself, alongside a bulky instruction manual, charging cord, extra nozzle, and storage bag (which I must note is one of the most unique I’ve ever seen, as not only does it feature a little Womanizer key-chain, but it also has some sort of whip-like leather tassel attached to it!). Overall I am happy with this box, but I can’t help but feel it is a bit of a let down after the Premium’s, especially considering this is the more expensive product of the two. In addition the DUO also comes with Womanizer’s 30 Day Orgasm Guarantee and a 2 year warranty.

Charging

Charging the Womanizer DUO is easy as it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end into a USB port and then connect the other end with the magnetic plates on the toy. While I didn’t have any issues with the connection strength of the magnets on the Premium, I do find them a little trickier to make stay put on the DUO, however this is likely more to do with the awkward shape of the DUO than anything else. The next thing I noticed was that no information on charging is included in the DUO’s instruction manual, which is surprising considering the size of it, however there is a more comprehensive manual on their website. This lists the DUO as taking 2 hours to charge, which will give you up to 4 hours of run time, however on their website and others the DUO is listed as having 2 hours of run time, so I’m not sure which is correct (but mine has yet to run out of charge). When charging a light will then flash inside the suction nozzle (it took me some time to work this out as it’s hard to see and again not mentioned in the included instructions), and when charging is complete this light will become solid. In addition, Womanizer recommend charging the toy before first use and it’s also worth noting that the charging cord features the brand’s logo, which I love as it makes it easy to identify.

Womanizer DUO Charging

Controls

The Womanizer DUO has six buttons, which might just be a new record, but despite this they are actually fairly easy to use. In fact, the first time I used the toy I didn’t even need to check the instructions. This is due to the fact that the buttons are labelled really well, making identifying them a piece of cake. On the back of the toy there is a single button, which is clearly marked as the power button, whilst on the front there are four buttons grouped in pairs, and a secondary solo button a bit further away. The first pair of buttons control the suction, as is indicated by a symbol with rings of increasing sizes, whilst the second pair control the vibrations, as is indicated by a symbol with motion lines around it. Both secondary buttons then features a minus logo, and as you’d imagine this lets you decrease the suction or vibrations. The final button is the least obvious, as this just features some dots in a diamond shape, and it turns out this is what controls the vibration patterns. So, to turn the toy on or off just press the power button, and success will be indicated by the light within the suction nozzle turning on. This will also put the suction and vibrations on their lowest levels, and you can then increase or decrease both independently using their buttons, including turning one or both off entirely. Each has 12 levels of intensity, and at any point you can also click the pattern button to flick through 10 additional modes, all of which are also compatible with the intensity levels. When done you can either press the power button again or hold down the vibration minus button for two seconds to put the toy into stand-by mode (which I don’t really see the purpose of), and just in case you forget about this the toy will automatically turn itself off after 10 minutes of disuse, or 5 minutes if the battery is low. Additionally, to turn Smart Silence off you can hold down the two suction control buttons for two seconds.

Smart Silence

This is my third product that features WOW Tech’s still novel Smart Silence, and as usual I absolutely love it. For those who are hearing about it for the first time though, basically it means that the motors in this toy will only run whilst the suction nozzle is in contact with your skin, regardless of whether the toy is on or not, completely eliminating any unwanted noise when the product is not in use. If you happen to use the DUO without the Smart Silence activated however, then I can report that whilst the vibrations are whisper quiet, the suction noise is at the louder end of my suction toy collection. Once a seal is made around the suction nozzle though the volume is significantly reduced, making it even quieter than the Premium and in general just a really quiet toy.

First Impressions

Turning the Womanizer DUO on for the first time, it was clear that this toy is a force to be reckoned with. The suction strength is immense, and while it was initially hard to tell where it stood next to the Premium, I definitely knew I was going to be in for a treat. As for the vibrations these were similarly powerful, and while I don’t have any internal We-Vibe products to compare them to, they certainly have that trademark rumble that is so key to their products. Easily superior to my other suction dual-stimulation toy, the Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit, as well as one of my favourite G-Spot vibrators, the Paloqueth G-Spot Vibrator, I find the deep vibrations provided by the DUO more on par to the legendary L’amourose Prism V, and I couldn’t be more pleased with them.

Womanizer DUO

As for the suction nozzles, these are quite firm and don’t provide a lot of comfort, and so may not be the best option for those with a sensitive clitoris. They do, however, come in two sizes, and I was actually quite surprised by the difference between them. My only other experience with receiving an alternatively sized nozzle was with the Premium, and they both looked so similar that it took me ages to figure out the difference. In the end I realised that it was the length of the nozzle’s hole, rather than the width, that was different, making it suitable for people with longer clits. The DUO’s alternative nozzle takes a different approach however, featuring a much wider opening that eventually tapers down. I much prefer this, as I feel having these two very different nozzles is going to suit a far wider range of people than the Premium’s could, whilst also catering for those with wider or larger clits.

My Experience

Dual-stimulation vibrators can be a hit-or-miss for everyone, but even more so for me, as my difficult to reach G-Spot means that the majority of G-Spot toys I try simply don’t work. This usually puts me off trying dual stimulation toys entirely, but when I first saw the Womanizer DUO’s shape, which is so similar to one of my all time favourite vibrators, the SenseVibe SenseMax Warm (which uses a far more versatile design than traditional rabbit vibrators), I immediately knew it had potential. So when I first inserted it inside of myself (which required no warm up thanks to the small size) and it instantly sat in place right over my G-Spot, I couldn’t have been happier. In fact, before I even turn the DUO on I already start to get sensations reminiscent of toys like the Njoy Pure Wand and Jopen Key Comet Wand due to how well it is able to stimulate my G-Spot, and things only keep getting better from then onward. The G-Spot vibrations in this toy are fantastic, and while they can’t compete with a toy like the L’amourose Prism V or the SenseMax SenseVibe Warm, I do find them a lot more pleasurable than the buzzy vibes of the Paloqueth G-Spot Vibrator. As great as they are though, the real party doesn’t start until I place the suction nozzle down on my clitoris. First off, the suction abilities of the DUO are absolutely phenomenal, and are easily on par, if not better, than the Womanizer Premium. They are deep, rumbly, and thuddy, and just simply give me some of the best orgasms of my life. But combining them with such fantastic G-Spot stimulation? It just straight up takes what was already my favourite form of stimulation and adds a completely different dimension to it, and I couldn’t be more serious when I say that this is the best sex toy I have ever tried.

I could go on and on about how amazing the DUO is and the immense amount of pleasure it gives me, but for all of our sakes I’ve tried my best to keep it brief. I did, however, want to go over a few other notes about my use of the toy before wrapping up this review. Firstly, I am amazed at just how well the DUO works hands-free. In fact, I would say it’s easily the best hands-free toy I’ve ever used. Once in place it just sits there perfectly, and I don’t even need to close my legs around it. This is particularly impressive for a clitoral stimulation toy, as maintaining a tight seal in order for the suction to work can often be tricky even when holding it. The only downside is that this does leave me wishing the DUO had the same Autopilot feature as the Premium, since that would then truly make this toy hands-free. Next, I wanted to touch on how much I love the quick one-click power button of the DUO. Very often I will turn toys on and off during use, whether I’m edging or taking a break in between orgasms, and this can be so frustrating when they need a few seconds to turn on and off, so props to Womanizer for making this easy. Lastly, as much as I loved the idea of the larger sized nozzle for people who need it, it definitely wasn’t for me as I found it made the suction a lot less intense. This made me realise, however, that this might also be a brilliant option for anyone who is sensitive to clitoral stimulation.

Cleaning & Care

Womanizer DUO Accessories

Cleaning the Womanizer DUO is easy. Just remove the silicone head, wash it in warm soapy water and rinse. You can then do the same with the body of the toy in order to clean the insertable arm as this is waterproof. Then leave these to air dry and reassemble, which is very easy since the nozzle on the DUO has a small circle to indicate which way up it is supposed to be placed. Once dry you can then return the toy to its storage bag. Since the DUO is made out of silicone ensure you don’t use silicone based lubricant with it. Furthermore, I have found prolonged use of the toy can make my clitoris quite sore the next day, so I wouldn’t recommend using it excessively if you are planning on having any rigorous sex or further masturbation within the next 24 hours.

Final Thoughts

One of the main taglines that Womanizer have been using for the DUO is “Feel Complete”. Personally I hate this, and I think it’s gross to suggest that any object, particularly a sex toy, is needed to make someone feel complete. But I’ve got to admit that the DUO really does give off a sense of fullness, as if you truly are made “complete” when using it. This is because it fits so perfectly with my anatomy that it almost feels like an extension of my body, and the added experience of pleasure means that when I remove it I really do feel a sense of loss. Not to mention that the pleasure it gives is some of the best I’ve ever experienced in my life, and easily the best I’ve ever had from just one sex toy. I truly cannot recommend this toy more, however it does have one major downside, and that is its price tag. With a cost that will set you back around $300 AUD, this is one of the most expensive sex toys I’ve ever tried, and certainly the most expensive suction toy. As such, it’s probably not going to be your first, so if you’re really keen on the idea of it then I can’t deny that the Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit, which is over $200 less, is still a good option. But for anyone who can afford it and knows that dual stimulation and suction toys are for them, then you would truly be doing yourself a disservice by not getting the Womanizer DUO.

Updates

[13/05/23] Two years after publishing this review, the DUO started slowly malfunctioning, to the point where around the three year mark it no longer turns on or charges. Considering the price tag, I was not happy. Thankfully Womanizer offered to send a replacement (despite it no longer being covered by their warranty, and I don’t get the impression this is because I am a reviewer), and this model is also now being phased out with the release of the Womanizer DUO 2, which hopefully addresses whatever went wrong here.

The Womanizer DUO has now been discontinued to make way for the upgraded Womanizer DUO 2.

But it can still be found at select stores, while stocks last!

Review: Womanizer Liberty – Princess Previews

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but my only two reviews of Womanizer’s core products so far have been of their most expensive items. As great as this has been (in a best orgasms of my life” kinda way), I worry it has given me a false sense of how good their products really are, and it’s also been hard to recommend such pricey items to people, especially when I know full well that without this blog I wouldn’t be able to afford them either. So, it’s because of this that lately I’ve been eyeing the rest of Womanizer’s somewhat small range, particularly their most affordable offerings (which are still really mid-range in terms of price) the Starlet 2 and Liberty. I wasn’t fully set on which I’d prefer, but whilst in the process of finding a company to partner with for the review, something major happened. Womanizer announced they’d teamed up legendary singer Lily Allen to bring out a very special edition of the Liberty… and that’s when I knew I had to have it.

The Sender

Once I’d finished freaking out over how beautiful this toy is and mucking around with its official Instagram Filter, I set my attention to actually getting one. In the end it was For Her Box who agreed to send it out to me, and since this is my first time working with them at the blog I think some introductions are in order! An online retailer based in Brisbane, Australia, For Her Box is solely owned and operated by the wonderful Nik! Since 2016 she has been carefully testing and curating the items she stocks, and the result is a store that puts the emphasis in quality over quantity. Stocking some of the biggest brands around, such as Satisfyer, Womanizer and Fun Factory, as well as harder to get names, like Doxy and ZALO, the majority of items are then body-safe, however do be cautious of the few that aren’t when browsing, particularly within the dildo section. Then, rather than leaving you to browse the overwhelming possibilities, Nik has also shortlisted six of her favourite items from all the major categories, making choosing what to buy easier than ever. Plus, she has also developed a range of gift box-style options, allowing you to pick between “exposed” boxes, where you’ll know what you’ll be getting, and mystery boxes, where all you know is what type of stimulation the items will provide. Shipping Australia-wide in discreet packaging, For Her Box offers a flat-rate of $9.95 for postage or free shipping on overs of over $300, and even provide a free samples with every order.

Product Description

The Womanizer Liberty by Lily Allen is really just the OG Liberty with a fresh coat of paint, but boooy does it look good. The bright pink mixed with an orange-red is exactly the type of bold colours I enjoy, and it has been such a refreshing addition to my toy box. Thankfully though it doesn’t actually cost any more than the regular Liberty, which is great considering companies raising the price of a product just because of a colour change isn’t exactly uncommon. As for the Liberty itself, this has been designed to be Womanizer’s travel-friendly offering, a fact that is readily apparent online due to its fitted magnetic cover, but even more so when you see it in person and realise just how small this thing is. With a length of 10cm / 4 inches, this looks more like a fake key-chain version of a sex toy than an actual one, and I was genuinely shocked when I first saw it. Even now it still looks completely out-of-place when near my other suction toys, although I do appreciate how it fits neatly into the palm of my hand. Almost half of the Liberty’s size is then taken up by its white silicone suction nozzle, which is removable for easy cleaning and so you can switch it out with the included alternate size, whilst the other half features its two buttons. On the back is then the Womanizer lettermark rather than their full logo to keep things discreet, as well as the magnetic charging prongs for the toy’s USB charger. In addition, the Liberty is also fully waterproof and comes in four other non-limited edition colours: lilac, pink rose, powder blue and red wine.

Packaging

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen Packaging

My order for the Womanizer Liberty by Lily Allen was placed with For Her Box on the 9th of November and I received it promptly on the 17th. The box was fully discreet, with no mention of the sender or contents. Opening it up I then found the item beautifully gift-wrapped, and included was a sample packet of lubricant and a thank you card offering a discount on future purchases and care instructions, which were all massively appreciated touches and one of the things I love about shopping at small businesses. The box for the Liberty itself then takes full advantage of the special edition’s celebrity connection, featuring pictures of Lily Allen more prominently than the actual toy, as well as her signature on both the front and back of the box. This initial sleeve, which does provide a few pieces of information about the product, can then be removed to reveal a much more toy-focused box underneath that also features a clear window so you may see the Liberty prior to opening. Both the sleeve and box then use the same bright colour scheme as the toy, which looks absolutely fabulous and really stands out. Once the safety seals have been removed you can slide out the inner compartment using the ribbon handle, which gives you access to the toy as well as its accessories. This includes a “quick-start user guide” (although despite the name it is one of the thickest instruction manuals I’ve ever received, mostly due to it covering so many languages. The full version can be found here), a small card encouraging you to post about the toy on social media, the charging cord, an alternative suction nozzle, and a high-quality branded storage bag.

Charging

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen Charging

Charging the Womanizer Liberty by Lily Allen is easy as it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and then the other end can be connected magnetically to the toy, which thankfully has one of the strongest attachment strengths I’ve encountered. While charging a light inside the suction nozzle will flash, and when complete this will remain solid. Charging should then take about one hour, and this will give you around 120 minutes of play time. Plus, when the Liberty is almost out of battery, it will let you know by flashing its light while on. In addition, Womanizer recommend charging the toy before first use, and it’s also worth noting that the charging cord features the brand’s logo, which I love as it makes it easy to identify.

Controls

With only two buttons and no special features or pattern modes, controlling the Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen couldn’t be easier. To turn it on just hold down the plus button for two seconds, which will put the toy on its lowest suction intensity and turn on the light within its nozzle. You can then continue clicking the plus button to increase the product’s intensity by 6 levels, or use the minus button to lower them again, and when done you just need to hold down the plus button for two more seconds. Overall I am happy with all of this and love the simplicity, although it does fall into an issue I usually have with Satisfyer’s suction toys, in that I frequently find myself turning the toy off during use by accidentally holding down the plus button after increasing the speed, and so personally I would prefer it if the minus button turned it off instead. But really this is just me being a nit-picky reviewer. Also of note is that six speeds is a lot less than I have grown accustom to from suction toys (with the Womanizer Premium and DUO both having 12, for example), but this is still more than most vibrators offer.

Travel Case

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen in Case

In regards to the Liberty’s case, this has clearly been well considered as it works brilliantly. The two pieces fit together perfectly, whilst the magnets ensure they stick. When it comes to these sorts of things there is a fine line between having the magnets be strong enough so that the case doesn’t fall off, while still being weak enough for the case to be lifted without any resistance, and I feel Womanizer have balanced this superbly. As for it being discreet I do feel this works well, easily being mistaken for a make-up or menstrual product case, although the bright pink obviously makes it very eye-catching. So for those who really care about this being used for travel or privacy perhaps one of the regular colours would be better, as these are still beautiful but otherwise far more muted.

First Impressions

Not only is the Liberty my cheapest core Womanizer toy by far ($100 less than my second cheapest, the Premium), but it is also really small, so to say I was concerned about its power levels is an understatement. I mean, I wasn’t expecting it to be able to compete with Womanizer’s higher-budget toys, but being so accustomed to stimulation from toys like the Premium left me worried about how a toy less than half its size and price could compare at all. As soon as I turned it on however it was obvious my worries were unfounded, because this little toy can bring it! Plus, it is also incredibly low-volume despite its clear power, easily being my quietest Womanizer so far, and it’d even beat out my Satisfyers too if it wasn’t for the Pro Penguin. As for the interchangeable suction nozzles, these remind me more of the type that was included with the Premium than with the DUO, as rather than having an alternatively sized hole it instead varies their length. This means that people who have a longer clitoris will be covered, as well as those who prefer more pin-point stimulation.

My Experience

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen and Womanizer Premium
The Liberty with my current favourite suction toy, the Womanizer Premium.

I’ve been almost inseparable from my Womanizer Premium since I got it. So switching to the tiny Liberty felt quite strange, and I was just hoping for something good enough to be able to recommend to people looking for a cheaper option. But instead I’ve found myself slowly falling in love with this toy and its deep, powerful suction abilities. It seems that while Womanizer have sacrificed a number of their more luxury features, such as Smart Silence, to reduce the price of the Liberty, their breathtaking clitoral stimulation technology was not one of them, because this toy easily competes with some of the best suction toys I have tried. As a result, the most noticeable difference between using this and other products is the Liberty’s unusually small range of intensities, which not only gives you less of a build up but also means that it ultimately doesn’t reach the same heights as a toy like the Premium. In fact, if I was going to compare the Liberty’s suction to that toy’s 12 settings then I would say it feels most like levels 3 to 9, as it doesn’t start as low but also doesn’t get as high. But make no mistake, the Liberty still feels absolutely amazing and gives me some ridiculously good orgasms, and I actually prefer the smaller size compared to the Premium, which now feels almost bulky. I would even go so far as to say that the Liberty is on par, if not better, than the We-Vibe Melt and Satisfyer Luxury, which are the leading products from the other major players in the suction world. This is because while these toys have a more intense suction, the Liberty has a better thuddy-feeling (a sensation similar to if someone were to tap on your suction toy during use that Womanizer has been excelling at lately), and out of the two sensations I prefer the thuddyness. Then, in regards to the different nozzles, I didn’t really feel a massive difference between the two, but ultimately I prefer the smaller option as it feels just slightly more intense for me. Finally, also worth mentioning is the toy’s nozzle-based light, which I found really helpful when locating my clit just prior to use.

Cleaning & Care

Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen Nozzles and Case

Cleaning the Liberty is easy. Just remove the silicone head, wash it in warm soapy water, and rinse. If the body of the toy is dirty too then the whole thing can be washed in the water as well since it is waterproof. Then leave these to air dry and reassemble, which is very easy since the nozzle has a small circle on it to indicate which way up it is supposed to be placed. Once dry you can then return the toy to its storage bag or just cover it with its magnetic case. Since the Liberty’s nozzle is made out of silicone ensure you don’t use silicone based lubricant with it. Furthermore, I have found prolonged use of the toy can make my clitoris quite sore the next day, so I wouldn’t recommend using it excessively if you are planning on having any rigorous sex or further masturbation within the next 24 hours.

Final Thoughts

The Womanizer Liberty is marketed as the perfect suction toy for travelling, and that it is. Its size and cover keeps it away from prying eyes, while its quiet suction ensures no one will hear it. What I did not expect from one of Womanizer’s cheapest offerings, however, was a toy that can easily compete with the best of what We-Vibe and Satisfyer have produced. I went into this review honestly just excited about the bold colours and the collaboration with one of my favourite singers, but I’m leaving it with an unexpected new favourite. While the Liberty by Lily Allen doesn’t quite compare to the Womanizer DUO or Premium, considering it’s over $100 less I didn’t expect it to. But the difference between these three toys does not feel like $100, as I could happily use the Liberty in place of the Premium, and I will be when I start travelling again (whenever that is). Plus, this means that for all the people out there eager to try a Womanizer but understandably put off by the high prices of the toys I’ve reviewed from them in the past, I finally have a cheaper option that not only can I vouch for, but that I can recommend wholeheartedly with the knowledge that you’re still going to be getting something really good.

You can get the Womanizer Liberty By Lily Allen for just $149.95 AUD at Lovehoney Australia or $99.99 USD at Lovehoney US, plus use my code HONEYX10 to get 10% OFF your total order!

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but my only two reviews of Womanizer’s core products so far have been of their most expensive items. As great as this has been (in a “best orgasms of my life” kinda way), I worry it has given me a false sense of how good their products really are, and it’s also been hard to recommend such pricey items to people, especially when I know full well that without this blog I wouldn’t be able to afford them either. So, it’s because of this that lately I’ve been eyeing the rest of Womanizer’s somewhat…

Womanizer
Review: Womanizer Premium 2 – Princess Previews

Womanizer Premium 2

Unlike most other major toy manufacturers, luxury clitoral stimulator brand Womanizer only offers a small catalogue of products. The five core designs, whose differences mostly relate to their increasing price tags, are the Starlet, Liberty, Classic, Premium and DUO, and while I have tried all of them, I have reviewed only three so far. Without a doubt, however, my favourite is the Womanizer Premium. In fact, it’s not just my favourite Womanizer, but my favourite suction toy in general, and my second favourite toy of all time (just behind the Magic Wand Rechargeable). So when I heard the German brand was upgrading three of their designs and the Premium was one of them, I was all in. Keeping it simple with the addition of a quick version number, the new models are the Starlet 3, Classic 2, and Premium 2, with their older versions since being discontinued (although there is still plenty around to buy and with most stores offering them at a discount!). As for the differences, in addition to new colours and updated branding (including more sustainable packaging!), Womanizer have also up the ante with their suction levels, which suggests updates for the Liberty and DUO might not be far away either.

Product Description

Womanizer Premium 2 Buttons
My Womanizer Premium 2 alongside my original Womanizer Premium.

While the Womanizer Premium 2 is certainly a toy in its own right, I wouldn’t usually write an entirely new review just to cover a few updates. But since I love its predecessor so much, I just couldn’t resist when Lovehoney contacted me about reviewing it recently. Between the two toys, the most obvious difference is the colour. While classic Black and the more recent updates of Raspberry and Blueberry (the colour of my original version) are still available, the Premium 2 has updated the previous Red and White for Bordeaux and Warm Gray, which, in addition to sounding a lot more fancy, gives a slightly darker and more luxurious feel. While Blueberry is still my personal favourite, however, I decided to go with Bordeaux for my newer version to ensure I could tell them apart, and I do love the gold accent that goes with it (the only other colour this comes with is Black). Outside of this, though, the appearance of the Premium is exactly the same as before. As for its features, everything that made the original great remains, such as the brand’s signature Smart Silence, while updates to the suction intensities and Autopilot mode help take it to the next level. Finally, as with all core Womanizer products, the Premium 2 is fully waterproof, body-safe, and USB rechargeable.

Packaging

Womanizer Premium 2 Packaging

My order with Lovehoney for the Womanizer Premium 2 was placed on the 14th of January and I received it promptly on the 19th. As usual the box was 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside. While I have reviewed a fair few Womanizer toys at this point, this is my first one that uses their new branding, and I adore it. Finally renouncing their dreadful cursive logo and occasionally cringey graphics, Womanizer’s new look is clean and minimal, and uses a circle as their key visual. This is out in full force on the Premium 2’s packaging, which uses a red colour scheme to match the toy, although the box is otherwise pretty much the same as before. I loved everything about this previously, so am happy to see it remains, and I am also glad to see Womanizer clearly advertising the changes and what’s new with this version. Once the safety seals are cut, you can then open it up to access the toy, as well as its two instruction manuals (with the main one being much smaller than before since the full instructions are now available online), charging cord, storage bag (this is very different, switching from a typical satin bag to one made out of organic cotton that reads “Go. Love yourself!”), and an alternative smaller suction nozzle (which is now packaged in a great paper bag that reads “Every body is unique”, with pictures of diverse vulvas on it). According to Womanizer, this packaging uses 41% less plastic, which certainly shows. Although strangely there are some differences to what I received versus what is shown on their website, with my storage bag featuring the old logo and my safety instructions looking completely different. Plus, Womanizer’s iconic “#I Masturbate” business card is missing entirely. Overall, I am happy with the packaging and accessories of the Premium 2, and it really shows that companies can reduce their environmental impact without hindering quality. However, considering the cost, they should perhaps put a little more care into making sure all of the additions are up-to-date and actually included, as despite it not having an effect on the actual product, I would probably be a little annoyed if I had paid for this. In addition, the Womanizer Premium 2 also comes with a five year warranty (as do all Womanizer products now, an upgrade from their previous two year!).

Charging

Womanizer Premium 2 Charging

The charging process of the Womanizer Premium 2 has been kept exactly the same, which is great. It’s USB rechargeable, with the cord displaying the Womanizer logo for easy identification. Despite being magnetic, the two connect really well, and charging should then take two hours to give you four hours of play, which Womanizer recommend doing before first use. Plus, to determine where your toy is at with its charge, you can check the LED display on it, which will show one light when the toy is nearly discharged, two lights when the toy is half charged, and all three lights when the toy is fully charged.

Controls

Controlling the Womanizer Premium 2 is much the same as before, asides from the fact that there is two new suction intensities and an updated Autopilot. To turn the toy on, simply hold the power button down for two seconds, which will put the toy on its lowest steady speed (don’t forget that the Smart Silence means it will only activate when the nozzle is actually touched though). You can then use the plus and minus buttons to increase and decrease the toy through its 14 suction intensities, and to turn off (or back on) the Smart Silence you can hold these two buttons down for two seconds. Finally, to turn the toy off, you can hold down the power button again. As for the Autopilot 2.0, this can now be turned on by holding down the wave button for two seconds, with success being indicated by the LED lights pulsating and Premium 2 making a noise with its suction. Starting on soft mode (levels 1-6), you can then press the button again to get to medium mode (levels 6-11), intense mode (levels 9-14), and back again. As before the LED lights will let you know which mode you’re on, although the courses have all been tweaked slightly, for instance the intensities increase faster and drops in intensity don’t exceed more than three levels. Intros have also been added, so that the medium and intense modes have a 25 second ramp up, although this is skipped if the device has been on for more than 2 minutes already, whilst Womanizer state that the Autopilot reaches its peak after five to eight minutes.

[UPDATE: 14/09/22] An additional change, which has left some people concerned their Premium 2 is faulty, is an “improved” auto power off. While the Premium would simply turn off if left in stand-by mode (so with the Smart Silence on, indicating it is not in use) for five minutes to help conserve battery, the Premium 2 will instead turn off after ten minutes if no buttons are pressed, regardless of whether or not the Smart Silence is activated. This means that if you’re using the toy and don’t change the intensity level for ten minutes, it will simply shut off. While it’s not an issue I’ve run into personally, since I typically use suction toys in short bursts, I can definitely understand the frustration a lot of people have felt with this, especially since the update is not clearly mentioned. My advice would just be to remember to press the plus or minus button every now and then to circumvent this, although hopefully Womanizer go back to the original version if they decide to release a Premium 3.

Smart Silence

The Smart Silence on the Womanizer Premium 2 also functions the same, and as usual I am a big fan of it. Making sure the toy runs when it needs to be, and is silent when it doesn’t, is ideal, and allows using it to be much more relaxed and discreet. As for the noise level, I ranked the original to be around the middle out of all of the other suction toys I’ve tried, and the Premium 2 is very similar. Being slightly quieter on its lowest speed and slightly louder on its highest (although quieter in both regards when a seal is made), I’d say these changes mostly just reflect the adjustments to the 2’s power levels. Although one thing I also noticed is that the type of sound coming out of the two toys is different, with the original being higher-pitched and rattly, and the 2 being deep and smooth, which may be the result of the age of my original toy. Overall though, even though the Premium 2 is not the quietest suction toy I own, the Smart Silence again makes up for this.

First Impressions

Womanizer Premium 2 Accessories

When I use a wand massager, like the Magic Wand Rechargeable, I typically find the highest strength too much and stick to the lower speeds. But when I use suction toys, I am always craving more and click away at the intensity button even when I know I’ve reached the end. So when I heard they were adding two new levels to the Premium 2, making it the most powerful Womanizer toy yet, I was beyond excited. Turning it on for the first time, this claim indeed seems to be true, with its suction creating more of a seal when tested on my finger. As for the nozzles, the same superb designs from the original Premium return, as the 2 comes with two sizes (Small & Medium) that alternate in length rather than width. Plus, a further Large head can be purchased directly from the Womanizer website, if you’d like something even bigger.

My Experience

Imagine if your favourite vibrator was suddenly stronger. That’s exactly how it feels using the Womanizer Premium 2. Since the design and main controls remain the same, everything about it feels as if I am using the original, until I turn the power on. While it’s not an obvious difference at first, asides from the reduction in noise level, as I increase the intensities I eventually reach a point where I know in my mind that I’ve hit the end. Except… I haven’t! I keep clicking, and every time I think it can’t possibly go any higher, it does, until I eventually reach that wonderful 14th setting. With this, not only would I say it’s stronger than the original Premium, but more so than the We-Vibe Melt as well, which I had until now considered my most powerful suction toy. As for the transitions between levels, I also find these smoother, as is the feel of the suction compared to the OG Premium, which is again a tad rattly. Unlike the original though, I have a strong preference for the Medium nozzle, as I not only favour how the suction feels with it on, but I also find it far easier to apply. Then, in regards to the Autopilot, I definitely prefer how this works to the previous version, although I’m still not really convinced it’s for me. Not only do I like to be in control, but I simply orgasm way too quickly to feel like it’s worth it. Still, it is certainly fun when I’m after something different, and always a bit of a challenge to see how long I can last!

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Womanizer Premium 2 is easy. Simply remove the silicone head, wash it in warm soapy water, and rinse. If the body of the toy is dirty too then the whole thing can be placed and washed in the water as well since it is waterproof. Then leave these to air dry and reassemble, before returning to the storage bag. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with it, as it may react badly to the silicone the toy is made with.

Final Thoughts

Womanizer Premium 2

It might seem obvious that I would love a sex toy that is effectively an upgraded version of one of my all time favourites. But it wasn’t that long ago that I was reviewing the We-Vibe Tango X, the revised edition of my favourite bullet vibrator, and had some less than positive things to say. The problem with that toy, however, was that We-Vibe took the things I loved most about the Tango, such as its single button controls and compatibility with attachments, and changed them. But with the Womanizer Premium 2, they have simply taken what they already had and refined it. Not only does this allow the Premium 2 to improve upon its popular Autopilot feature, making it much more intuitive, but its ability to be quieter yet more powerful is an absolute triumph, and sure enough I will be using this from now on over my original model. Plus, the best bit is that even though this toy is superior to its predecessor, Womanizer have kept the price consistent so that getting this won’t cost you any more than it would have done before.

You can get the Womanizer Premium 2 for just $299.95 AUD at Lovehoney Australia or $199.99 USD at Lovehoney US, plus use my code HONEYX10 to get 10% OFF your total order!

So when I heard the German brand…

Womanizer
Review: Womanizer Starlet 3 – Princess Previews

Womanizer Starlet 3

I’ve been on a hunt lately to find good quality suction on a budget. It saw me review the viral Sohimi ROSE, try out the infamous OSUGA Cuddly Bird (also known as the Biird Obii), and even take a second look at the toy that started it all, the Satisfyer Pro 2. But I would be remiss if I didn’t bother trying the beginner’s option from my favourite suction brand, WOW Tech’s Womanizer. Now, I must warn you, while the Womanizer Starlet is the cheapest option in the luxury German brand’s current catalogue, at $120 AUD it is still quite a hefty sum. Plus, with a favourite like the Womanizer Liberty coming in at only $30 more, it had me a little unsure of where this product could possibly fit in with the rest of my toys. But, with a recent rerelease taking it from the Starlet 2 to the Starlet 3, alongside the updated Premium 2 and Classic 2, I just couldn’t resist giving it a go when Lovehoney reached out about a review.

Product Description

Out of Womanizer’s five core products, the only one I hadn’t tried until now was the Starlet. Essentially a stripped back version of their beloved suction stimulators, I’m not surprised its small and simple design is often overlooked when it has powerhouses like the Premium 2 and DUO as its siblings. But while fancy features like WOW Tech’s Autopilot and Smart Silence are nice, the ability to make me orgasm is the only thing that really matters at the end of the day. Coming in at a length of just 12cm / 5″, the Starlet is a lot smaller than most of my other suction toys, although slightly bigger than the travel-friendly Liberty, which is the next step up in the Womanizer range. Also somewhat similar to the Liberty is its overall feel, as it uses glossy ABS plastic for its body rather than silicone or matte plastic. This, while technically fine, does make the toy come off quite cheap, and its unexpectedly light weight also contributes. Despite this though, the simplistic design works well, and it has a clear family resemblance to the other products in Womanizer’s line. Two buttons, a logo, and charging prongs then rest on one side, whilst a white removal silicone nozzle is on the other. Changes between this version and the last include five completely new colourways (Turquoise, Violet, Pink, Gray, and my pick, Indigo), which I love the diversity and brightness of, updated packaging, and two more intensity levels. As with all other Womanizer toys, the Starlet 3 is also then USB rechargeable, body-safe, and fully waterproof.

Packaging

Womanizer Starlet 3 Packaging

My order with Lovehoney for the Womanizer Starlet 3 was placed on the 10th of March and I received it promptly on the 16th. As usual the box was 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside. Even though I’ve reviewed quite a few Womanizer products at this point, the packaging for the Starlet is then quite different, even compared to the Liberty. Clearly a point where they felt they could cut costs, the toy arrives in a very simple cardboard box featuring Womanizer’s usual branding, a picture of the toy, and some information about what it can do. Once the safety seals are cut, this outer layer then slides off to reveal the toy resting in some card inside. Some quick-start instructions can then be found on the back of this inner box, which I quite like, and Womanizer’s iconic #IMasturbate business card is included, which is good since it was missing from my Premium 2. Also included are two manuals, one being a more generic safety guide, and a charging cord, although notably absent (on purpose this time) are Womanizer’s usual storage bag and additional suction nozzle. Overall, while this is all nice and I understand Womanizer trying to reduce the price, I do still feel that it could have been a little more refined considering it’s not exactly cheap. Finally, the Starlet 3 also comes with Womanizer’s generous five year warranty.

Charging

Womanizer Starlet 3 Charging

Charging the Womanizer Starlet 3 is easy since it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and then the other end can be connected magnetically to the toy. While charging a light inside the suction nozzle will flash, and when complete this will remain solid. Plus, when the Starlet is almost out of battery, it will let you know by flashing its light whilst on. Charging should then take 30 minutes, which will give you around 30 minutes of play time. Now, 30 minutes might honestly be the worst battery life of any toy I’ve ever tried, and a massive change from the Liberty’s 120 and Premium 2’s 240. It is, however, made slightly better by the fact that it also takes 30 minutes to charge, which is exceptionally fast. Still, if you are the sort of person who forgets to charge things after use (since 30 minutes will surely only last 3 or so sessions max), this is definitely worth considering. In addition, Womanizer recommend charging the toy before first use, and it’s also worth noting that the charging cord features the brand’s logo, which I love as it makes it easy to identify.

Controls

Womanizer Starlet 3 Controls

The Womanizer Starlet 3 only has two buttons, making it extremely easy to control. Plus, with clear labels, there isn’t even any need to refer to the instructions. Simply hold the plus button down for two seconds to turn the toy on, which will place it on the lowest level. You can then continue clicking the plus button to increase the power through its six intensity levels, or use the minus button to decrease it again. Finally, to turn the toy off you can hold down the minus button for two seconds. This is all very similar to the Womanizer Liberty, which also has two buttons, with one key improvement which I think makes a world of difference. My biggest complaint with that toy was that its plus button also turned it off, so I would always hold it down when raising the speed and accidentally cut the power instead. I mentioned then that “I would prefer it if the minus button turned it off”. Well lo and behold, that is exactly what they’ve done with the Starlet 3, and I couldn’t be happier!

First Impressions

Womanizer Starlet 3 Nozzle Off

While six speeds is not much for a suction toy (my favourite, the Womanizer Premium 2, has 14), it is the same amount as the Liberty, and since I enjoyed that toy so much I was hopeful for the Starlet 3. Plus, the previous iteration of this toy only had four, so considering that six sounds pretty good. Turning it on for the first time, I definitely got the sense of Womanizer’s usual deep and powerful stimulation, feeling quite a pull on my finger. As for its noise level, this is fairly similar to the Womanizer Liberty, marking it on the quieter end of my suction toy noise scale. Still, as they are naturally noisy products, you will still need to be careful if you have reason to be discreet with the Starlet, as it can be heard from other rooms. As for the nozzle, this is quite large despite only coming in one size, and should work for a wide range of people due to its deep chamber. For those who do want further options though, more sizes can be purchased directly through Womanizer.

My Experience

As with the Womanizer Liberty, the Starlet’s nozzle-based LED light makes placing it over my clitoris so much easier than with other suction toys. There is then a good variety between the six levels, with the final speed feeling satisfying thuddy and deep, just like all of Womanizer’s toys, and orgasm comes easy. But I can’t help but want more. You see, I was hoping that the $30 AUD difference in price between the Liberty and Starlet was because of everything that separates them aside from their suction. After all, the Liberty has a nicer, travel-friendly design, comes with better packaging, accessories, superior charging times and more. So it wouldn’t have been a leap to think they might share the same motor. But yet, despite having the same number of levels as the Liberty, the Starlet 3 simply falls short in terms of power, and it is all too obvious in use. What’s more, while this would usually be acceptable for a budget toy, I also prefer the Satisfyer Pro 2 to it, as although the suction between the two is very different (and I could see fans of thuddy stimulation preferring the Starlet), the stronger intensity of the Pro 2 wins me over. Which is a problem when you realise that the Pro 2, which is more widely available, also costs $40 less.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Womanizer Starlet 3 is easy. Simply remove the silicone head, wash it in warm soapy water, and rinse. If the body of the toy is dirty too then the whole thing can be placed and washed in the water as well since it is waterproof. Then leave these to air dry and reassemble, before storing however you wish. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricants with the toy, as it may affect the silicone nozzle.

Final Thoughts

Womanizer Starlet 3 and Womanizer Liberty
The Starlet 3 alongside its closest other Womanizer, the Liberty.

The Womanizer Starlet 3 is a good toy. It works smoothly, looks good doing it, and has a deep suction that brings me to orgasm without too much delay. I have no complaints… except for its price. For all intents and purposes this comes off as a very cheap product, from its basic packaging, lack of accessories, old school battery life and plastic body, and I’d probably price it around $50 AUD if I was unaware of the brand. Which is totally fine, and I would recommend it as a brilliant budget option. But at $120, the Starlet could almost be considered a luxury product, a label that does not fit it at all. The bigger issue with this, though, is that there are plenty of better toys out there for significantly less, such as the $80 Satisfyer Pro 2, and if you really have your heart set on a Womanizer then you only need to fork out another $30 to get the far superior Liberty. With this in mind, it saddens me to say that this is the first Womanizer I cannot in good faith recommend, whose talents seem to remain with their luxury products, even if their prices aren’t always accessible for the rest of us.

Womanizer
Review: Womanizer Marilyn Monroe – Princess Previews

Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition

Of the five core products in Womanizer’s current portfolio, there is only one I have yet to try. The Classic 2, which offers a step up from the Womanizer Liberty while not being quite as powerful as the Premium, has managed to elude my grasp so far. In fact, I had a similar experience with its predecessor, and when I finally did get one, it was sadly discontinued before I could review it. So when I recently heard Womanizer were bringing out a limited edition version of the Classic 2, and Lovehoney asked if I’d like to try it out, I was more than a little excited, not wanting history to repeat. However, the Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition has since proven to be quite the controversial release, with some fans of the late actress and model praising the German brand for honouring her legacy of empowerment, whilst others have condemned it, noting that her inability to consent to the use of her name runs parallel to the objectification she suffered during her lifetime.

As an American icon, I don’t have a huge amount of familiarity with Monroe, but I do think the critique of Womanizer for this move is very valid, especially when there are plenty of sex positive celebrities out there that can consent to a collaboration such as this, like with their previous Liberty by Lily Allen. For me though, my main focus is on making sure that the fans who are considering purchasing this product have access to a trusted and reliable review of it, for good or for bad. Plus, despite the limited edition colours and packaging, this product is just the Womanizer Classic 2, which I’ve been promising a review of for far too long.

Product Description

The Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition, or the Classic 2, is the next generation of the brand’s mid-range offering. Sitting comfortably between their $150 travel-friendly Liberty and $300 luxury Premium 2, the $200 Classic 2 is the toy for those who want a high-quality suction stimulator but don’t need all the bells and whistles that the Premium offers. The new model adds two additional suction intensities, bringing the total up to 10, alongside an Afterglow feature to allow for the toy to quickly return to its first speed. The overall design is then the same as on the original Classic, with a sleek, tapered body featuring three buttons, charging prongs and a Womanizer logo on one side, and on the other is a removal silicone nozzle. While this nozzle-side then feels the same, this soft-touch plastic now covers the entirety of the toy, for a much more luxurious feel and making it far more worthy of its still quite expensive price tag. Additionally, the buttons are now 100% silicone, making them easier to press and feel against the plastic, and whilst the magnetic charging prongs still protrude more than I would like, they are thankfully somewhat less sharp. The biggest change visually then, would have to be the colours, as whilst the original Classic only came in purple (my pink version of it was a special for Lovehoney’s 2021 Advent Calendar), the Classic 2 comes in both black and bordeaux. Plus, the Marilyn Monroe Special Edition takes this one step further, with a selection of four luxury tones: black marble, white marble, vivid red and mint (which is what I have). Finally, as with all of Womanizer’s toys, this product is also USB rechargeable, body-safe, fully waterproof and comes with a five year warranty.

Packaging

Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition Packaging and Storage Bag

My order with Lovehoney for the Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition was placed on the 8th of September and I promptly received it on the 13th. As usual the package was then 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside. While I’m quite familiar with the Womanizer brand, I still wasn’t fully sure what to expect with the Classic 2’s packaging since my original came in an advent calendar, and was happily surprised to see the more luxury-style box that the Premium 2 came in present, rather than the more simplistic boxes of the Liberty and Starlet 3. Featuring images of Marilyn Monroe alongside a clear window to see the toy, the box matches your chosen colour and offers plenty of information on how the product works, including a short guide on how to use it. Two magnetic doors can then be opened up to reveal the toy, and the entire thing just oozes elegance, creating a wonderful experience for whoever receives it. Inside you’ll then find the toy itself, alongside a high-quality storage bag, charging cord, quick start guide, safety instructions, brief product catalogue, and an additional silicone nozzle. Overall, I absolutely loved all of this, and just to top it off, this updated packaging uses 41% less plastic than the old one!

Charging

Being USB rechargeable, charging the Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition is easy, and works exactly the same as on the original Classic. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and then connect the other end to the charging prongs on the toy. Plus, even though this connection is magnetic, it is quite strong, so you don’t need to worry about it falling off. The toy should then take 120 minutes to charge, which should give you an estimated run time of around 180 minutes, with the LED light on it flashing slowly to show it’s nearly discharged, flashing quickly to show it is half charged, and lit up constantly to show it is fully charged. Finally, Womanizer also recommended charging the toy before first use, and a logo is present on one end of the cord to make it easy to identify.

Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition Charging

Controls

Controlling the Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition is much the same as it was with its predecessor, with the main changes being the two new suction intensities and the Afterglow mode. To turn the toy on, simply hold the power button down for two seconds, which will put it on its lowest speed. You can then use the plus and minus buttons to increase and decrease the toy through its 10 suction intensities, and to turn it back off simply hold down the power button again. To use the Afterglow feature, which is a new function introduced with the Classic 2, you can then press the power button briefly at any moment the toy is on to instantly reduce the intensity to the lowest speed. The idea of this is to provide a relaxing end to an orgasm, by allowing you to bask in the “afterglow” without worrying about becoming too sensitive for the higher levels. Also worth noting is that the Classic 2 now has a memory function, so that it will return to the speed it was turned off on, and that its stand-by mode has been reduced from 30 minutes to just 10 (or 5 if the battery is low), meaning that if no buttons are pressed during this timeframe, it will automatically turn off.

First Impressions

Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition Accessories
The instructions still refer to it as the Classic 2, which may be strange if you’re expecting it to say Marilyn Monroe!

While I enjoyed my original Classic, eight speeds did feel a little low for a suction toy, and so I was glad to hear this was being upped to ten for the Classic 2. Although the downside is that these additions aren’t actually intended to increase the power of the toy, but rather just provide a softer opening speed and a greater range overall. With this in mind, turning on the Womanizer Marilyn Monroe for the first time felt quite familiar, just with the speeds being a bit more spread out. Although a problem quickly arose, as I realised just how spluttery and disjointed the pressure waves felt. A fault I’ve experienced many times before on suction toys, it is not normally this bad nor is it something that happens to products immediately, so to have it on the outset of the Classic 2 is a real disappointment. Because of this, rather than feeling like a smoother increase, the lower levels of the toy instead feel like they’re constantly changing, to the point where they are pretty much unusable. Plus, the move between some levels can often be a massive jump, which can be painful if you’re not expecting it. In addition, it is also much louder than the original Classic (again, likely because of the malfunction), with a high-pitched motorised noise that grows in intensity whenever the nozzle is covered, to the point where it is actually on par with the Premium 2’s noise level (despite being a lot less powerful than it), making it not at all discreet. Finally, the two nozzles are the small and medium sizes I’ve become accustomed to Womanizer sending out with their toys, which alternate in length rather than width. If you’d like an even larger size, however, they can be purchased directly from the Womanizer website.

If I consider my experience with the Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition in isolation, then I had quite a good time with it. While the lower speeds were often a spluttery mess, I was more than happy to skip past these to the far more stable higher settings. There, I was able to really enjoy Womanizer’s powerful stimulation, and while orgasm does take longer than with stronger toys like the Premium 2, when it does it is completely satisfying and rewarding. I quickly realised that using the Afterglow feature right after climax, as it is intended, was not for me, as I like to enjoy a continuation of the sensation during, and after I prefer to just remove the toy completely. However, it soon found its place as a way to help me edge, which worked out perfectly since due to the memory feature I was unable to turn the toy off and on again to achieve this like I usually would.

So the problem, therefore, comes when I compare it to its predecessor, the Classic. Because when things get an upgrade, you usually assume they improve, which I am not certain is the case here. Firstly, with the two toys having the same maximum suction strength, the only real change available here is that there’s more variety to enjoy in the lower speeds. But whether my Classic 2 is malfunctioning or it’s supposed to be like this, I can’t enjoy any of that. Plus, even though the top levels of the two are meant to feel the same, they don’t, with the original Classic’s suction feeling much deeper and more steady, not to mention a whole lot less noisy. Then there is the fact that I cannot edge as I would like by turning the toy off and on, and while the Afterglow feature does help somewhat with that, it isn’t as enjoyable as edging with the original Classic or any of Womanizer’s other toys. On that note, I’ve also found that I prefer using the cheaper Womanizer Liberty more than the Classic 2, and even toys from other less premium brands, such as the Satisfyer Luxury, can ultimately feel more satisfying.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition is easy.

Womanizer Marilyn Monroe Special Edition Controls

After enjoying the original Womanizer Classic so much yet not being able to review it before its discontinuation, I was beyond excited to finally be able to share my love for this suction toy when I received the Classic 2 in its Marilyn Monroe Special Edition. However, it seems the opposite has happened, with my love of its predecessor continuing to outshine my feelings for this newer version. While its strange spluttering suction was the most obvious downside, which I’m fairly certain is just some sort of malfunction limited to my toy, there were plenty of other “upgrades” which I felt actually inhibited the experience. For instance, the inclusion of a memory function meant I could no longer use the product how I enjoy, and while the 10 minute stand-by mode didn’t affect me personally, I know a lot of people who this was a problem for. And that’s not to mention how it is noisier than the original Classic, despite not even being more powerful. So while I do prefer the new materials and colours of the Classic 2 and Marilyn Monroe, these benefits simply aren’t enough to make this the superior product. Unfortunately though, with the Classic no longer being produced, this is all moot point, unless you can find one still for sale somewhere (which, at the time of writing, is the case at Lovehoney!). Still, it does mean that if you are looking to buy a Womanizer, you’re probably better off sticking to the Liberty or forking out the extra money for the Premium 2, especially if you think issues like the memory function or stand-by mode might affect you. As for me, I’ll be patiently waiting for the Classic 3.

So when I recently heard Womanizer were bringing out a limited edition version of the Classic 2, and Lovehoney asked if I’d like to try it out, I…

Womanizer
Review: Womanizer OG – Princess Previews

Womanizer OG

I’ve now reviewed products from over one hundred different sex toy brands, but when I’m asked my favourite it’s always an easy answer: WOW Tech. The company overseeing both the German-based Womanizer and Canadian We-Vibe, among other things (and coincidentally now part of the UK’s Lovehoney Group, who have long been my favourite retailer), they’ve been leading the industry ever since I joined it and produce some of my absolute favourite toys. Whilst We-Vibe, makers of the legendary Tango X and Nova 2, have a broad catalogue to cover a wide range of electronics, Womanizer instead specialises on just one kind: air pressure. And since that also happens to be my favourite type of sex toy, it goes without saying that Womanizer holds a special place in my heart, and finishing up reviewing their entire range was a highlight of last year. Of course, even with this, I was still over the moon when they announced an entirely new model a few months ago, but with a design as eccentric as its name, I can’t say I wasn’t a little concerned.

Product Description

The first thing we need to address is the name. Womanizer’s new product is called the OG, which is slang for original and a term I use here often, however this meaning cannot be applied to the toy as it’s only the latest item in the brand’s growing catalogue. It would seem that they’ve instead used it to indicate how this product is an original innovation, since it intends to apply air pressure waves to the G-Spot for the very first time. Now, the closest I’ve ever come to something like this was back in 2019 when I reviewed the ZALO Queen, an internal vibrator that used “PulseWave” technology inside the vagina. But even that was nothing like the OG, which looks like they’ve literally just taken a suction toy and made it insertable. On this note, this toy can actually be used as a regular clitoral stimulator, and with standard vibrations included too, this is also Womanizer’s most versatile release yet. Featuring their signature Smart Silence and Afterglow modes, the OG then comes in three colours, Lilac, Aubergine and Dark Gray, for which Peepshow Toys sent me the latter, and has a wide, flexible curve in the centre of its 22.5cm / 8.86″ total length (with only around 16cm / 6.3″ of this being insertable). Four buttons rest at the far end of the toy, whilst on the back you’ll find the magnetic plates for the charger and the Womanizer logo, alongside a sleek black band of reflective plastic, a trait that links its design back to their other luxury toys, such as the DUO and Premium 2. Plus, whilst I don’t normally mention pricing this early on in a review, I’d be remiss if I didn’t address the fact that with a cost of $325 AUD / $219 USD at the time of writing, this is now one of the most expensive sex toys I own, something I’ll certainly be considering during my testing. Finally, this toy is made of 100% body-safe silicone, which is silky smooth to the touch, and is USB rechargeable and waterproof, although not anal-safe.

Packaging

Womanizer OG Packaging

My order for the Womanizer OG was placed with Peepshow Toys on the 24th of February and I received it on the 6th of March. The package was then 100% discreet, with no mention of what was inside or who sent it. As for the OG itself, whilst the branding and design cues are the same, the overall layout of the product’s packaging is unlike anything I’ve received from the company before, although still oozes the luxury-feel that they’ve become known for. Instead of being able to view the toy through a clear window, the Womanizer OG’s box is fully made of high-quality card, featuring a 1:1 picture of the toy and plenty of information on how it can be used. Once the safety seals are cut, a secondary box can then be slid out from the side using a ribbon, and it is here you’ll find the toy resting safely in card and some smaller compartments which contain the accessories. These are Womanizer’s signature #IMasturbate card, a safety booklet, manual, charging cord, and cotton storage pouch that says “Go. Love yourself!” on the front. Plus, a quick-start guide is also provided, which is printed on the back of the inner box. Finally, the OG also comes with Womanizer’s impressive 5 year warranty.

Charging

Womanizer OG Charging
I am holding the Womanizer OG upright off-camera here, as otherwise it would simply fall over and the charger would disconnect.

Charging the Womanizer OG is easy since it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end of its charging cord into a USB port and then match the magnetic plates on the other side to those on the toy. Whilst these magnets are fairly stable, due to the fact that the toy rests on its side rather than on its front like other Womanizer products, it can be difficult to maintain a connection, so ensure the toy is positioned suitably before leaving. Once on charge a light will begin to flash, and this will become solid upon completion, with it taking around 100 minutes to provide 120 minutes of use. In addition, Womanizer recommends charging before first use, and it’s also worth noting that the charging cable is branded with their logo, making it easy to pick out amongst similar cords.

Controls

The Womanizer OG has four buttons which are all located on the front of the toy, although it’s easy to mistake the logo on the back for another, not only because it looks like one but because the Womanizer DUO has its power button in the same location. Easy to understand symbols then make using the OG pretty easy right off the bat, but with hidden extra features it’s still worth going over the instructions. At the very end is the on / off button, as indicated by the power symbol, and this can be held down for two seconds to activate the toy. Plus and minus buttons are then placed next to each other (with the plus button being slightly larger, a helpful way to remember which is which when you can’t see them), and these increase and decrease the suction through its 12 intensities. Meanwhile, the final smaller button is dedicated to just the vibrations, with it allowing you to cycle through 3 levels, however rather being entirely independent of the suction as Womanizer’s marketing suggests, the vibrations can only run alongside the suction, and cannot be turned off during either. Finally, to activate the toy’s Afterglow feature, which is really just a fancy word for a lowest suction intensity shortcut, you can hold the minus button down for one second, and to toggle the Smart Silence mode on and off, hold down the plus and minus buttons for two seconds.

Womanizer OG controls

Smart Silence

This is my fifth product that uses WOW Tech’s unique Smart Silence function, and I am so glad it does, because the Womanizer OG is loud. For those who don’t know, the idea behind this technology is that the toys contain a sensor, so that their motors only run when the product is actually touching you. It’s really quite genius, and as with their other products, the OG does a fantastic job at differentiating furniture versus my skin, significantly reducing the amount of noise created. And as I mentioned before, this is particularly good with this product, as it is one of the loudest suction toys I’ve ever used, even at its lowest level. But since it only turns on when either the suction nozzle is sealed around my clitoris or is in my vagina, I rarely need to hear this level of volume. Although even with this, it is still on the louder side compared to my other suction toys, and while it is even more muffled when inserted for internal play, it might not be a good pick for when you need privacy.

First Impressions

Womanizer OG Nozzle
An interruption to Womanizer’s usually impeccable quality, the interior of the suction nozzle looks quite poorly made.

I try to not read other people’s reviews of toys that I might try. But being on social media means it’s inevitable that I see things, and the general consensus has not been kind to this toy, which made me a little apprehensive going into this review, especially when I’m such a big fan of Womanizer’s other products. Upon receiving it, one aspect that immediately jumped out was that rather than using the typical kind of air pressure waves that I love from the brand, where you can’t really tell where it’s coming from, the OG uses a tapping plate within its nozzle, which is a less effective version of this stimulation that I wasn’t overjoyed to see. Of course, its nozzle is also totally different to a typical Womanizer suction toy, being very wide without much rise and a outward taper rather than inward (although these changes are absolutely understandable due to the internal nature of it, and only an issue when you consider it’s also being promoted for clitoral use), and this combined with the weaker air pressure waves means I cannot even create a seal around my finger (I suppose there must be one due to the change in volume, but I can’t feel one), something I’ve never experienced with a Womanizer toy before. As for the vibrations, these are quite strong and rumbly, but it’s clear they’re intended to play second fiddle to the suction, as they would be disappointing in a regular G-Spot vibrator.

My Experience

Internal Use

Inserting the Womanizer OG is easy since it’s quite thin in size, although being my first time using a toy with what is essentially a hole in its head, this sensation is a little strange. Turning it on is a similar experience, with the suction initially creating a sharp and almost painful feeling, but this quickly fades. I then find that the shape rests against my G-Spot fairly easily, but because the shaft is so flexible, I need to put in a lot of force in order to properly stimulate it. This causes quite a strain on my wrist, which is definitely a big downside to this toy. As for the air pressure waves, I kind of imagined that they would simply be able to be placed up against my G-Spot to create some magical sensations, just like they do on my clitoris. But this is not the case, and once the sharp feeling goes away, it doesn’t really have any effect at all. So I found myself resorting to thrusting the toy like a regular G-Spot vibrator, alongside a trusty clitoral vibrator such as my We-Vibe Touch X or Doxy Bullet. Like this, the Womanizer OG gives me some amazing orgasms, and I’ve really come to love it. Plus, whilst it’s hard to know for sure, I do think that the suction adds to the pleasure in its own subtle way, as climax with this toy feels a little different to usual.

External Use

Womanizer OG issues
Another quality issue is Womanizer’s use of raised text and symbols on an area of the toy that is intended for internal use. Plus, four small depressions can also be felt nearby.

If it seems like the fact that you can also use the Womanizer OG as a clitoral stimulator is an afterthought, you won’t be surprised to learn that it feels like one too. Placing the OG over my clitoris, and presumably making a seal due to the reduction in noise, I feel literally nothing. It’s pretty wild, coming from the makers of my favourite suction toys, and I think it has a lot to do with the shape, or lack of, of the nozzle. Due to this, external play is really where the toy’s vibrations come into their own, as whilst they get lost during internal use, they’re a lot more obvious during external stimulation and I’ve even found myself having an orgasm with them in this way. But overall, I don’t believe Womanizer should be advertising the toy for this kind of play, as it’s clearly not made for it.

Cleaning & Care

While it’s great that the Womanizer OG is waterproof for easy cleaning, the suction hole is a very obvious concern. And honestly, if this toy was being made by any other brand, there is a very good chance I would have refused to review it due to sanitary concerns. After all, how am I possibly supposed to properly clean something that has a gaping hole in it? Well, I suppose I’m trusting Womanizer on this one, but the idea does still make me feel uneasy. To start, I’d recommend flushing out any gunk that remains in the nozzle and then placing it in some warm soapy water to soak. Womanizer have also poorly chosen to place raised writing on the toy’s back, so make sure to scrub over this with a spare soapy toothbrush and any of the buttons that may have also gotten dirty. You can then rinse the toy and leave to air dry, ensuring you get all the water out of the nozzle before storing it in its bag. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricants with this product, as it may negatively affect the silicone it is made of.

Final Thoughts

Womanizer OG with storage bag

To summarise, let’s start by ignoring the fact that Womanizer advertises the OG for clitoral use, since it’s obvious this should never have been a thing, and I don’t want anyone purchasing it with this multi-use nature in mind. Instead, let’s focus solely on its use as an internal G-Spot toy, which I very much enjoyed using it as. But, as I also previously mentioned, at a whopping $325 AUD / $219 USD at the time of writing, this is one of the most expensive sex toys I’ve ever tried, and for that I expect perfection. And perfection the Womanizer OG is not. Because while it did feel good, it still wasn’t as good as the cheaper Njoy Pure Wand ($220 AUD / $160 USD) or the Hot Octopuss KURVE ($170 AUD / $130 USD), and even if it was, the strain it put on my wrist would still have made it not my preference for use. Not to mention that for such a high price, I kind of expect the full package, and since you’ll also need to pick up a clitoral vibrator if you’re like me and need stimulation here too, then you’re probably going to be better off getting the We-Vibe Nova 2 ($190 AUD / $150 USD) or Womanizer DUO ($330 AUD / $220 USD) instead, which are also both superior to the OG. Overall, while I commend Womanizer for trying to create something new and special, unfortunately the OG simply isn’t, and while I do think there is a place for a product like this, it has to be at a more reasonable price to be worth it.
