Review: Satisfyer Luxury – Princess Previews

Satisfyer Luxury

I can’t help it, I love Satisfyer! I know they certainly aren’t the best brand out there, and have had their fair share of toy failures, but I just can’t deny the fact that every toy I have ever tried from them has been amazing. Not only that, but each toy I’ve tried has taken their signature suction technology to a whole new level, which is why every time I review one it becomes my next favourite. So far Satisfyer have had products in all of my annual Top 10 Toys of the Year lists, the only company to achieve such a feat, and they consistently place in the Top 5, going so far as to make both number four and two in last year’s list. As such, when I set out to host my biggest giveaway ever a few months ago for my Fourth Blogiversary, I knew I had to include a Satisfyer toy. I was then lucky enough to secure their newest clitoral simulator, the Satisfyer Luxury, and to be honest promoting it for that giveaway really made me want one for myself! Thankfully SheVibe were kind enough to send one for me to try, and I eagerly awaited it to see if my good luck with Satisfyer products would continue!

Product Description

Satisfyer’s toys have always leaned towards the luxury end of the market, and so the Satisfyer Luxury is here to take that up a notch, as its name suggests. It doesn’t offer anything new in regards to the way it functions, so instead this product is all about the way it looks. Featuring genuine leather, real precious metals, and buttery soft silicone, this is certainly the nicest looking Satisfyer I own. Its sleek design has been planned with ergonomics in mind to make it very comfortable to hold and use, and its three metal buttons are extremely satisfying to press. You can get it in two colour schemes, a pink, rose gold, and white version named Prêt-à-porter (which is what I have), or the white, black, and gold Haute Couture. According to SheVibe, this toy only offers a suction function, which was a little disappointing to me considering how much I loved the Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration, but upon receiving the toy I quickly discovered that it does also offers vibrations. This isn’t just SheVibe’s mistake, as it seems a lot of websites do not advertise the Luxury’s vibrations (including Satisfyer’s own website), which is very strange. As usual, this Satisfyer toy is also USB rechargeable and fully waterproof.

Removable Nozzle?

Satisfyer Luxury and Storage Bag

While I was happy to find that the Satisfyer Luxury featured vibrations despite them not being advertised, there was another discrepancy between product listings and the actual toy that is a bit more concerning. A lot of websites, SheVibe included, list that the nozzle of the toy is removal for cleaning. This is totally normal and expected, as every Satisfyer toy I’ve ever owned has had a removal nozzle. As such, when I got the toy one of the first things I did was try to remove the nozzle so that I could clean it before use. But alas, the nozzle on this toy is actually glued down. Unfortunately this was a little too late of a discovery for me, as I had already ruined some of the glue on the back of the nozzle trying to get it off. I’m so use to Satisfyer toys having removal nozzles that at first I thought I was just going crazy, until I posted about it on social media and had an influx of messages from bloggers telling me they had the same problem, including some horror photos from Luna of Climaximaal as she had also attempted to remove it and ending up tearing the silicone, eek! I’ve since informed SheVibe of this misinformation and they’re working to correct it, but unfortunately there has been no word from Satisfyer who I also tweeted to.

Packaging

Satisfyer Luxury Packaging

My order for the Satisfyer Luxury was placed with SheVibe on the 11th of July and I promptly received it by the 17th, which was an amazing speed considering it was coming from the US to Australia! As usual SheVibe’s packaging was completely discreet, with no mention of who the sender was or what the contents were. As this is my fifth Satisfyer toy, I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect with the packaging: a simple cardboard box which would contain the toy, charger, and a small instruction manual. But what I forgot was that this is the Satisfyer Luxury, and this theme followed through to its packaging. As such, the box it came in is very elegant, being made of matte black textured card and featuring shiny gold detailing (which is suspiciously similar to what ZALO are using for their Legend series). A window at the front then lets you see the toy prior to opening the box, while information on the back tells you all about the different functions it offers. The toy then comes with an instruction manual, charger, and a velvet drawstring bag. As with all Satisfyers, this toy also includes a 10 year manufacturers warranty.

Charging

Charging the toy is easy, just connect one end to a USB port and the other end to the Luxury. The charger is a little different to the one I am use to receiving with Satisfyer toys, but it seems to be just a visual change as it still features the same great magnets, making connecting the toy a breeze. While charging a LED light will blink, and once it is fully charged the light will remain solid. It should take around four hours to fully charge, and this should then give you about 70 minutes of playtime. Honestly this ratio is pretty poor, especially compared with other Satisfyer products (for example, the Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration which resembles the Luxury the closest, only needed 2 hours to fully charge and would then give you around 120 minutes of use), and for a higher-quality and more expensive toy (the Luxury is double the price of the Pro Plus Vibration!) I definitely expected this to be better.

Satisfyer Luxury Charging

Controls

Controlling the Satisfyer Luxury is a little tricky at first, and this is made worse by the fact that the instructions don’t really explain it well, but once you get the hang of it it’s actually pretty good. Similar to my other Satisfyer toys that featured vibrations, the Pro Plus Vibration and Pro G-Spot Rabbit, the vibrations and suction on the Luxury are entirely independent in their controls, so the two can be used either together or independently, which is very convenient. Firstly, there are three buttons, two that are together and feature plus and minus symbols which control the suction, and one that is alone which controls the vibrations. To turn the vibrations on, hold down the button for 2 seconds, and this will put you on the lowest vibration setting. You can then continue pressing the button to cycle through the toy’s 10 vibration settings, with three of these being steady speeds and 6 being pattern modes. Then, to turn on the suction mode, hold down the plus button for 2 seconds, which will activate the lowest suction setting. You can then slowly increase the strength of the suction over 11 different modes, and you can decrease this using the minus button. You can turn the modes off by holding down the button you turned the mode on with for 2 seconds.

First Impressions

Satisfyer toys always seem to have trouble with their noise. My original Satisfyer Pro 2 was super loud, and while this was vastly improved upon for their Pro Penguin Next Generation, things went a little downhill again with my more recent reviews of the Pro Plus Vibration and Pro G-Spot Rabbit. Sadly, it seems things continue to get worse with the Satisfyer Luxury, as it has gone back to my Satisfyer Pro 2’s level of noise, and if anything it’s louder. This makes it one of my loudest toys yet, which is not what you want if discretion is important to you. It is only made bearable because of the fact that when applied to the clitoris the noise is dampened significantly, although this does mean that I always get a bit of a shock whenever I remove it whilst it’s still on!

Satisfyer Luxury Nozzle

As usual I can’t really tell a huge difference between the suction strength of this Satisfyer compared to my others, although I would say that the Luxury does feel slightly stronger. Instead, the real difference in feeling usually comes from the silicone nozzle, most notably the level of cushion it offers and the size of its hole. On that note, I would say the hole for the Luxury is about the same size as the Pro Plus Vibration, which is quite large (enough for me to stick my index finger into). This is great as not only does a larger hole make the suction feel more broad, but it is far easier to apply to your clitoris. Then, while most of my Satisfyers only offered small areas of cushion or none at all, the Luxury features a large flat area right outside of the hole, and this combined with the toy’s plush silicone easily makes this the most comfortable nozzle yet. In regards to vibrations, I was hoping these would be upgraded from the weak and buzzy vibes the other vibrating Satisfyer toys featured, but sadly it seems the same motor has been used, and so these are the same.

My Experience

As noted, from just trying the Luxury out on my fingers I didn’t find that its suction strength was that much different from my other Satisfyer toys. However, when placed on my clitoris there is an immediate difference. The stimulation I receive from the Luxury penetrates far deeper than any other Satisfyer toy. It’s almost rumbly in nature, and there also seems to be a consistent and strong thudding inside the toy which feels overwhelmingly good. It is what I imagine it would be like if all my life I had only used weak and buzzy vibrators, and now for the first time somebody had given me a powerful and rumbly vibe. This Satisfyer, and I can’t emphasis this enough, is on a completely different level to any I have tried before. Even though the suction has the same levels of intensity, the feeling of them is so completely different that it’s hard to even compare this toy to other suction products. As such, I have the most incredibly strong and fast orgasms with the Luxury, and I find it quite addicting to use. This is by far the best suction toy I’ve ever tried, and to be honest it’s one of the best sex toys in general I have ever tried.

In regards to the Luxury’s vibrations, I tend to not use these that often with the toy. While they do feel good and add further stimulation to the experience, I find their buzziness takes away from the deep feeling I receive from the suction, so only when I really want to take things up a notch (usually after I’ve already had a few orgasms with it) do I turn these on.

Cleaning & Care

Satisfyer Luxury Back

While it’s a little annoying that the silicone head is not removal on this model for cleaning, Satisfyer have still made things easy by making sure the toy is fully waterproof. This means you can just clean the whole thing with warm soapy water, and then rinse it and leave to air dry. Then after this you can keep it in the drawstring bag it came with. Since the head and body are made out of silicone ensure you don’t use silicone based lubricant with it, and be cautious to not overuse it as it can start to become painful after excessive use. Furthermore, I have found prolonged use of the toy can make my clitoris quite sore the next day, so I wouldn’t recommend using it excessively if you are planning on having any rigorous sex or further masturbation within the next 24 hours.

Final Thoughts

Up until discussing my actual use of this product, the review was looking pretty bad, huh? When you consider the only difference between the Satisfyer Luxury and the Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration is the way it looks, yet it’s double the price, you’d assume that the Luxury would at least not have any faults compared to it. Yet, it has a non-removal nozzle, terrible charging ratio, buzzy vibrations and a noise level that is truly head-ache inducing. But then I put it on my clitoris, and nothing else matters. While I like to give an objective review to all elements of a product, I often say that at the end of the day all that really matters to me is how it feels in use, and this is truly one of those cases. This form of deeper and more penetrating stimulation that the Luxury provides also explains why the charging and noise level is so different from the Pro Plus Vibration, and if that is what it takes for Satisfyer to help me achieve these sorts of orgasms then I am all for it. I’m not kidding when I say this is genuinely one of the most pleasurable toys I have ever tried, and so it looks like this year Satisfyer may finally take the top spot in my Top 10 round-up!

Review: Doxy Bullet – Princess Previews

Doxy Bullet

Way back in 2017 I published a post talking all about the top new sex toys that I wanted. Half designed as a space for me to express my excitement over new releases and share the news with you all, and half intended as a *wink wink* to brands, the second part didn’t exactly work out considering I never ended up getting any of them. That is until late last year anyway, when I finally reviewed the Doxy Die Cast 3R, the smaller version of the UK brand’s popular massager wand. On that list, however, there were actually two Doxy products featured, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disappointment that the long awaited Doxy Bullet never came to pass when reviewing the wand last year. So, you can imagine my surprise when out of seemingly nowhere, Doxy finally released it to the world just a few months ago!

Background

Originally previewed at the 2016 ETO Show, the Doxy Bullet has clearly gone through some changes in the last six years. Of the three versions shown, one was intended to be mains-powered, with controls that look similar to the end of a Doxy Massager, whilst two others were rechargeable but on the larger side. Of those, it seems only the slimmer rechargeable version made it through (which would be my preference anyway), and while it probably doesn’t have the same power capabilities that wow’d audiences at the show as the corded version, I’m just glad to finally see it on the market. Unfortunately though, as soon as it was announced, people were quick to point out a pretty glaring issue. Of the Bullet’s seven functions, only two are non-patterns, which, considering the vast majority of people seem to prefer steady speeds over patterns, is a no go. Personally, I don’t think any vibrator should have lower than three speeds, and from the general consensus online, people agree with me. Despite this, I still couldn’t resist giving it a go, and maybe it’ll prove us all wrong.

Product Description

Doxy Bullet and We-Vibe Tango II
The Doxy Bullet alongside the We-Vibe Tango II.

The last few years have seen bullets getting more and more complex, but the Doxy Bullet is a return to the old-school design that worked so well. A smooth, metal body features a tapered tip at one end and a button at the other, and it is here you’ll also find the charging prongs for the toy’s magnetic charger. As is Doxy’s signature, the Bullet is then made from anodised aluminium, giving it a firm feeling that should transfer vibrations nicely, with the only silicone being used for its button. This also makes the toy quite cold to the touch at first, although it quickly warms up and retains heat well, making it ideal for temperature play. At 12cm / 4.7″ in length and with a maximum diameter of 2.5cm  / 0.98″, the Doxy Bullet is also much larger than the average bullet, and due to this it will likely be incompatible with many attachments, such as those made for the We-Vibe Tango II. With this in mind, it is also a fair bit heavier, although this is not particularly noticeable during use. Coming in two colour options, classic silver and rose gold (which is what I have), these subtle choices keep things feeling luxurious and discreet compared to the usual pinks and purples I’m use to seeing, and at the end the Doxy logo features twice. Finally, as with all good sex toys, the Bullet is also fully waterproof and USB rechargeable.

Packaging

Doxy Bullet and Metal Storage Case

My order with Betty’s Toy Box for the Doxy Bullet was placed on the 26th of July and I amazingly received it just two days later on the 28th, which is easily the fastest anything international has ever arrived to me. The package was then fully discreet, with no mention of who sent it or what was inside. After recently reviewing the Doxy X Lovehoney Die Cast 3R, I thought I had a rough idea of what to expect from the packaging, as I knew this once again came with a custom metal storage case. However, I was impressed to see that any additional and unnecessary cardboard has been dropped from the Bullet, so that the storage case is the packaging, which not only reduces waste, but looks way cooler. A plain metal tube of about 13cm / 5.1″ in length, a large sticker featuring the Bullet’s picture and info covers the majority of it. This is then supposed to be cleanly peeled off so that you may open the tube, and in doing so it pretty much removes any hint of what’s inside, apart from an additional smaller sticker on the bottom which can also be peeled off, and an engraved Doxy logo at the other end (although I highly doubt anyone would figure out what this was if they didn’t already know the brand). Unscrewing this, you’ll then find the Bullet resting safety inside, alongside its charging cord. As for instructions, these are not provided, but instead can be found on the Doxy website, and a QR code on the main sticker will also take you to this. Additionally, the Doxy Bullet comes with a one year warranty.

Charging

Doxy Bullet Charging

Being USB rechargeable, charging the Doxy Bullet is easy. Simply plug one end of its cord into a USB port, and the other end can then be connected magnetically to the toy. The magnets here aren’t the worst I’ve ever seen, but you will still need to be careful when placing it down to ensure it doesn’t fall off. When charging the buttons will light up and flash, and these will become steady when complete. It should then take 1 hour and 40 minutes to charge from a flat battery, although frustratingly I haven’t been able to find any information about how much playtime that is supposed to give you. Still, I have yet to have it die on me, so it mustn’t be too terrible.

Controls

The Doxy Bullet sees a return to the good old days of single-button bullets, which was the biggest thing I thought was missing in the We-Vibe Tango’s recent update. So for any fans of the OG Tango, you’ll be happy to know this works exactly the same. Just hold the button down for 2 seconds, which will turn the toy on and activate its first steady speed, which is 50% of its strength. There is then one more steady speed, bringing it to 100%, and then after this you’ll find five pattern modes. Clicking the button will allow you to cycle through these, and at any time you can hold the button down again to turn the toy off. I couldn’t be happier with how this works, as it is a simple and easy to use system that I never thought needed changing in the first place. Plus, having the one button at the end of the toy also makes it convenient to locate and press, whilst simultaneously ensuring you don’t have to worry about clicking another button by mistake, which has been another point of concern with recent releases.

Doxy Bullet Button

First Impressions

While Doxy are known for their strong, rumbly vibrations, the Bullet is only a fraction of the size of their large, mains-powered massagers. So with only two speeds to impress me, I won’t say I wasn’t a little worried. But turning it on, I was instead greeted with a powerful motor, for some of the most intense vibrations I’ve ever felt inside a bullet vibrator. While they are a little on the buzzy side, more so than similar vibes like the We-Vibe Tango X and Dame Kip, for vibrations of this grade that seems almost unavoidable, and the Bullet’s metal exterior seems to transfer them much better than if it were made with silicone or plastic, amplifying the sensation for an even greater experience. Plus, despite all this, they’ve also somehow managed to have barely any vibrations along the toy’s handle, which is impressive indeed. As for the toy’s noise level, this is where things go downhill a little, being easily one of the loudest (if not the loudest) bullet vibrators I’ve ever tried, and as such not really appropriate for those who need to be discreet.

My Experience

Bullets have been a bit of a sore subject for me lately. After my beloved We-Vibe Tango II and Nu Sensuelle Point both died in 2019, I have yet to entirely fill the hole in my heart that they left. While toys like the We-Vibe Touch X, Dame Kip, Lovehoney x Love Not War Amore, and even the new We-Vibe Tango X, came close, not one of them offered the classic bullet design I so adored. So when the Doxy Bullet arrived, I became cautiously optimistic, and after a few weeks of testing, I can confirm that this is the first time in three years that I finally feel like I have a bullet vibrator again. While having just two speeds does take some getting use to, the power the Doxy Bullet offers alongside the ramp up between them quickly makes up for the missing third. Then, whilst I do find the We-Vibe Tango X and Dame Kip much more rumbly, which can make them a better choice depending on the situation, I am just obsessed with how strong the vibrations of the Bullet are, buzzy or not, and this combined with the larger size and metal exterior helps take them to a different level. In fact, the only real downside I’ve found so far is that, like ABS plastic bullets, the metal on the Doxy Bullet isn’t really compatible with insertable toys that are also made of hard materials, such as the Njoy Pure Wand, in which case the silicone We-Vibe Touch X comes in handy.

Cleaning & Care

Doxy Bullet

Since the Doxy Bullet is fully waterproof, cleaning it is easy. Just wipe it down with some warm, soapy water, and then rinse. After this you can leave it to dry, and then return it to its storage case. Being metal, you can also use any lubricant you want with it, although be careful to not get silicone-based types on the silicone button.

Final Thoughts

Some things are classics for a reason, and that is the case with the humble bullet vibrator. The shape works, the size works, and having a single button at the very end keeps things quick and with zero fuss. So as much as I appreciate the desire to try new things that we’ve seen in the pleasure industry these last few years, I also think they have started to become overcomplicated for no reason, and at the detriment of the consumer. But the Doxy Bullet offers a return to that classic design, while bringing powerful vibrations worthy of our modern age, and I couldn’t be more pleased to name it my new favourite bullet vibe. While admittedly far louder and more buzzy than similar toys, like the We-Vibe Touch X and Dame Kip, the strong vibrations draw me in, and the simplified controls make me stay. So for anyone searching for a fuss-free yet strong vibe to add to their collection, or especially anyone like me longing for the good old days of the We-Vibe Tango II, grab yourself a Doxy Bullet, pronto.

Review: Le Wand Hoop – Princess Previews

Le Wand Hoop

For almost 20 years, the Njoy Pure Wand has been the go-to stainless steel sex toy, unrivaled in its design and pleasure abilities. So it’s almost impressive, that in an industry where copycat designs run rampant, that the Pure Wand has managed to remain a one-of-a-kind through sheer reputation alone. That is, until now, with the release of the Le Wand Hoop. An almost carbon-copy of the Pure Wand, this kind of move certainly isn’t new ground for the US-based manufacturer, whose entire catalogue is based on reimagining popular designs from other companies. However, as with their take on the legendary Magic Wand Rechargeable, my problem with Le Wand stems from the fact that rather than offering these imitations at a lower price point, they instead ask for even more money. Which begs the question: why would anyone pay more for a knock-off Pure Wand?

Product Description

Le Wand Hoop and Njoy Pure Wand

While the two toys look identical at first glance, Le Wand have made a variety of minor changes to the Hoop to allow it to be differentiated. Although while this wouldn’t usually worry me, the Njoy Pure Wand’s design is so simple yet so balanced, that I fear even the slightest adjustment could cause the Hoop’s downfall. The most notable update is three small bumps just under the larger head, offering some texture that the Pure Wand misses, whilst this head also features an alternative shape, being tapered to a point, rather than a sphere. Outside of this, the rest of the changes aren’t really visible to the eye, but every element from the size and curvature of the shaft, to the shape of the smaller head, have been tweaked ever so slightly. Lighter in weight, the Hoop comes in at just 622g, whilst the shaft has a length of 10.3″ / 26.1cm and the heads have a diameter of 1″ / 2.5cm and 1.44″ / 3.7cm respectively. Like the Pure Wand, the Hoop then includes its brand logo on the shaft, however this is invisible to touch, which is an improvement from the rough “Njoy” on the Pure Wand, although this is as it is actually carved into the metal. On that note, Le Wand don’t mention the grade of stainless steel used for the Hoop, whilst this kind of upfront honesty is something Njoy pride themselves on. As with the Pure Wand, the Le Wand Hoop is then fully waterproof and safe for all penetrative play, however will not work with a harness.

Packaging

Le Wand Hoop Packaging

While Le Wand are well regarded for their packaging, I felt this was another area that Njoy would be superior. After all, their “velvet cushion” style box is so beautiful that I still store my Pure Wand in it seven years later. But I’ve got to say, the packaging for the Le Wand Hoop is truly some of the most luxurious and elegant I’ve ever seen, and they win this round. Arriving in high quality card, a sleeve featuring a picture of the toy and product info can be removed to reveal a stunning (and semi-discreet) box, simply featuring the Le Wand logo on one side and a high-resolution image of stainless steel on the other. Small details here, such as a grid-like pattern on the top, really add to the beauty, and many of the elements feature reflective printing to further reinforce the toy’s material. Opening this up, the Hoop can then be found resting securely in foam, alongside its accessories, which match the packaging in excellence. There is a small care instructions booklet in multiple languages, as well as a larger “Guide To Stainless Steel Pleasure Tools” in English, which, in addition to serving as a product catalogue, has heaps of excellent information about using and caring for the Hoop. You’ll then find a small Le Wand branded cleaning cloth for drying and polishing the toy, and finally a storage pouch which is not only branded and high-quality, but padded for extra protection. In addition, the Hoop also comes with a one year warranty, and as it was sent to me directly by Le Wand (who do not normally offer delivery to Australia) I won’t go into the shipping details.

Le Wand Hoop Accessories

My Experience

With a slightly smaller main head and tapered design, inserting the Le Wand Hoop is easy, especially compared to the Njoy Pure Wand. Unfortunately the three bumps get quickly lost within me, sadly not offering any stimulation during use, however the head effortlessly finds its way to my G-spot due to the weight and curvature of the shaft. Using the handle to then press this against me (which, like the Pure Wand, is easy since the ergonomic shape does most of the work), it provides absolutely exceptional G-spot stimulation, and when paired with a clitoral toy, such as the We-Vibe Touch X or We-Vibe Melt (I recommend these in particular as they’re both made with a soft silicone, which works better with the stainless steel than other materials), I’m able to enjoy some extremely intense and satisfying orgasms. But, even with that, it is still not on par with the Pure Wand. I think the change that makes the biggest difference in use is the swap from a round head to a pointed “teardrop” one, because rather than being able to put full pressure onto my G-spot for the maximum amount of stimulation possible, I need to instead consider the positioning and worry about poking myself too hard. It results in stimulation that, while very very good, still isn’t as good as a legendary design that’s been providing pleasure worldwide for twenty years, which is fair enough. Plus, I think the reduction in weight (and possibly the curvature) also has something to do with it, as every little bit of this counts towards the stimulation I know and love from the Pure Wand. Finally, as with that toy, I didn’t really get much use out of the smaller end, however it does still feel good and it’s nice to have a less girthy option available if necessary.

Le Wand Hoop

Cleaning & Care

Being waterproof and stainless steel, caring for the Le Wand Hoop is easy. After use, simply wash it with warm soapy water and rinse. Le Wand then recommends drying and polishing it with their cleaning cloth, although I haven’t found this makes much of an impact. To sterilise it, which should be done before switching between partners or from vaginal to anal play, you can do this by boiling it. You can then store it in its bag or packaging for safe keeping, although another advantage of stainless steel is that it won’t attract lint or dust between uses.

Final Thoughts

Le Wand Hoop and Njoy Pure Wand

At the start of this review, I asked why anyone would buy the new Le Wand Hoop over the similar-but-iconic Njoy Pure Wand when it costs more? I’m very lucky to have been able to receive both of these toys for free in order to try and answer that question, but honestly, I’m still not sure. The Pure Wand is a perfectly considered and thought-out toy, with every aspect of its simple design contributing to why it has been widely regarded as the world’s best G-spot dildo for almost twenty years. So it’s no surprise that by taking it and then making enough small changes for Le Wand to relabel it as their own, they have unbalanced what was already working. While the Hoop is still an amazing toy by every means, the fact that it is less pleasurable whilst costing more just doesn’t work, and so unless you can get it in a sale at a reduction that makes it less than the Pure Wand (which, I think is likely, since Le Wand have greater sales than Njoy), there is no reason to choose it instead. Unless, perhaps, you prefer the higher-quality packaging and accessories Le Wand include, or maybe you are concerned about the size of the Pure Wand and would rather stick with the Hoop’s easier-to-insert head. Either way, this reviewer has certainly had a good time comparing the two.

If you are in the US, you can get the Hoop directly from Le Wand for just $145 USD, plus use my code PRINCESS22 to get 22% OFF your total order!

For everyone else, you can get it from Betty’s Toy Box for just $213 AUD / $145 USD, plus use my code GRACE to get 10% OFF your total order!

For almost 20 years, the Njoy Pure Wand has been the go-to stainless steel sex toy, unrivaled in its design and pleasure abilities. That is, until now, with the release of the Le Wand Hoop. An almost carbon-copy of the Pure Wand, this kind of move certainly isn’t new ground for the US-based manufacturer, whose entire catalogue is based on reimagining popular designs from other companies. However, as with their take on the…

While it’s not *as* good, this is a great alternative to the Njoy Pure Wand. The downside is the price, but regular sales may alleviate this.

Review: Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo

Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo

Recently I’ve been getting more into make-up and skincare, partly due to TikTok. I love watching people’s routines, although many of the products these influencers use are far too costly for me to even consider buying. That was when the algorithm started recommending me “dupes”, which is a shortened version of the word duplicate and young people slang for a product that is very similar to a popular competitor, yet cheaper. For the first time, make-up felt accessible to me, and these dupes have been the perfect entry-point for someone who is still learning what they like and who is not yet ready to commit to a luxury purchase. Anyway, the reason why I am telling you this story, is because when I saw today’s review item, I immediately felt like I was one of those TikTok beauty influencers, like I had the chance to help someone just starting out on their sex toy journey, just like they helped me. Because at $108 AUD / $70 USD, the Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo is the closest dupe of the legendary Njoy Pure Wand I’ve ever seen, and at less than half the price!

Is It Ethical?

Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo and Njoy Pure Wand
The Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo is on the left, whilst the Njoy Pure Wand is to the right. You can see how the Pure Wand’s bulbs are slightly larger.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t start this review with a note on ethics. It’s a larger conversation that I cannot entirely cover here, and one that I enjoy a healthy debate over. At its heart, almost every toy in this industry is a dupe or a copy of another. Rarely do we see true innovation, such as the recent Snail Vibe or the original Womanizer. Because of this, it can be easy to get used to the endless cycle of similar products as a sex toy reviewer. Recently, however, unethical practices relating to the emerging independent maker scene have become more common, with designs being stolen from these one or two person teams (sometimes, horrifyingly, before they even release the product themselves, as thieves reference work-in-progress shots posted on social media). It has put these issues right at the forefront of my mind, and so I was careful to get a better understanding of Njoy before completing this review. It turns out not much information is publically available about their company, with most interviews with the CEO being conducted well over a decade ago. But considering Njoy are the leading manufacturer of stainless steel sex toys worldwide, and their products can be found at pretty much every good retailer, I think it’s safe to say that they aren’t a micro- or even small-business. This doesn’t necessarily make Funzze’s use of the design right, but it introduces far more shades of gray to the problem. From my perspective as a reviewer, I am constantly asked about G-Spot dildo recommendations, as very few people can afford the Njoy Pure Wand, despite it being widely known as the best toy for the job. In fact, since I reviewed it in 2016, the price has only risen, now costing a whopping $240 AUD / $164 USD. So to have such an affordable alternative presented to me for review, is hard to pass up. And at the end of the day, people are going to buy this over the Pure Wand, regardless of what I do, and I would rather test it and find out for myself about any issues it may have, than refuse it because I’m worried about negative reactions (just like I did for Funzze’s problematic glitter dildos, which they have now pulled from their website on my advice). Of course, you’ll need to decide for yourself how you feel about this issue, and I’d be interested to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.

Product Description

Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo close-up

At first glance, the Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo is identical to the Njoy Pure Wand. However, once you place the two side-by-side, the differences start to become clear. The most obvious is that whilst Njoy include their logo at the shaft’s mid-point, Funzze do not. Next, you might notice that the quality is not the same. Whilst the Pure Wand features a flawless finish with no seams, the Stainless Steel Dildo is a bit darker, a bit more patchy (it can be polished smooth, but it doesn’t stay like this naturally in the same way that the Pure Wand does), and features seams around its two bulbs. Finally, there are slight variations in regards to the shape of the toy, and the whole thing is slightly smaller, with Funzze’s version having a diameter of 2.29cm / .9″ for its smaller bulb and 3.56cm / 1.4″ for its larger, alongside a weight of 483g. Outside of all this, everything else that makes the Pure Wand so great is present. It uses that classic double-ended dildo design, with its wide curve housing a different experience at each end due to the alternate sizes. The stainless steel material is then cold and smooth to the touch, and even though it isn’t as perfect as the Pure Wand’s, I don’t find myself minding considering that price difference. It is also fully waterproof and safe for anal use, and as usual Funzze provide a one-year warranty with it.

Packaging

Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo with packaging and warranty card

My order with Funzze for the Stainless Steel Dildo was placed on the 7th of July and it arrived on the 16th. An improvement from my last order with them was that the package was 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside. As for the toy itself, this arrived in Funzze’s usual plain cardboard box, which features a pink and black security strip with the brand logo on it (which is removable if you’d rather keep the box discreet for storage). Inside this you’ll find the Stainless Steel Dildo bubble-wrapped safely, alongside a gold branded storage bag (which is a little large for the toy), as well as a small business card explaining the warranty.

My Experience

Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo with storage bag

Inserting either end of the Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo is easy since they are both fairly small, plus the weight and smoothness of the metal helps too. Although I’d also recommend first warming the toy slightly under some warm water, as otherwise it can be very cold (this is a must in winter). The start of play is also the place where I find the difference between this toy and the Njoy Pure Wand most obvious, as you can really feel the variation in weight and size. Once inside, the sensations are all very familiar, and the Stainless Steel Dildo can find my G-Spot and begin to stimulate it immediately. The surprise contradiction that makes the Pure Wand so special, is that even though it is the heaviest dildo I own, it is the easiest to use in regards to the pressure it puts on my wrists and arms (since all of the weight is in me, and all I need to do is rock it back and forth), and I’m glad to confirm that Funzze’s version is the same. Being less heavy, I perhaps need to put a little bit more effort in, and being smaller, the stimulation is perhaps not as intense. But my god is it there, and the difference between the two is truly so small that you’d be hard pressed to believe they’re different products. And, of course, this means that the Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo is one of the best dildos I’ve ever used, providing some truly epic orgasms when paired with a soft clitoral toy like the We-Vibe Touch X. As for the two different sides, I typically prefer to start with the smaller end before moving onto the larger (the advantage with metal, compared to silicone, is that lube and vaginal fluids can be cleanly wiped away with a tissue, allowing for an easy switch of sides during use), although both are superb at G-Spot stimulation, just with the larger also providing a more filling feeling.

Cleaning & Care

Being waterproof and stainless steel, caring for the Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo is easy. After use, simply wash it with warm soapy water and rinse. To sterilize it, which should be done before switching between partners or from vaginal to anal play, you can boil it for one minute, submerge it in a 10% bleach solution, or pop it in the top rack of the dishwasher and run it through a full cycle. You can then store it in its bag or packaging for safe keeping, although another advantage of stainless steel is that it won’t attract lint or dust between uses.

Final Thoughts

Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo and Njoy Pure Wand close-up
The easiest way to tell the difference is the presence of the Njoy logo. You can also see here how the Pure Wand is lighter in colour.

For almost 20 years, the Njoy Pure Wand has been the stainless steel G-Spot dildo. Nothing has ever quite compared, and whilst I love it so, its eye-watering price tag has been the source of much frustration in my life, turning something that I wish everyone could enjoy, into a toy that only some can afford. And while I’ve patiently watched other toys go down in price over the years, it has only risen, to the point where I struggle to recommend it at all anymore. So, ethics aside, when I saw the Funzze Stainless Steel Dildo, I knew I had to try it out. It was either going to be great, and finally provide an affordable option for one of the world’s most iconic sex toy designs. Or, it was going to be bad, and I would be able to warn people, and potentially even Funzze, away from it. I’m so glad it was the former option, and for anyone out there that has always wanted a Pure Wand but couldn’t afford it: now is your chance! The downside to all of this is the lack of brand trust, because whilst Njoy are very upfront about their manufacturing process and materials, with their toys lasting a lifetime, Funzze are not. Will there be issues with its quality down the track? I don’t know, but that, and the ethical decision you need to decide for yourself, are the concerns you need to consider before making a purchase. In my opinion though, just like how I know those make-up dupes might not be as good nor last as long as the brand’s they replicate, for me, it’s worth it when I can’t justify the real thing. And once I try it, maybe I’ll even like it enough to give me that justification.

You can get the Stainless Steel Dildo directly from Funzze for just $108.16 AUD / $69.99 USD!
