Midnight Menagerie Teufl

It’s been well over a year now since I last reviewed for an Australian independent maker, and oh how things have changed in that time! It feels like just yesterday I was introducing Darque Path and Faux Phallus at the blog, two of the very first local stores to pop up, and now all my dreams have finally come true, with a thriving community of small businesses being located right here down under. One of these such brands is Midnight Menagerie, a Queensland-based shop very much after my own heart. With a range of fantasy designs available in a range of beautiful colours, they also offer TTRPG dice for games such as Dungeons & Dragons, which I’m more than a little partial to. But the thing that most excites me is the variety of size options they offer their toys in, and so when they recently suggested sending me their latest design, the Teufl, I knew it would suit me perfectly.

Wands of Lust Co Hercules

The world of crystals and harnessing their energy for healing and meditation is a truly fascinating one. I’ve tried a few sex toys now that make use of this unique material, and learning about their different properties and how they can bring positive change to your life is just as mesmerising as actually using them. But alas, despite my interest and efforts, I don’t know how much I find myself truly understanding these things beyond reading about them. Instead, I mostly just think crystals look pretty, and that’s okay too. So when Wands of Lust Co recently approached me about sending another of their products, I knew I wanted to go in a totally different direction visually than my previous review on their Aphrodite. And what’s more different from the translucent pink of rose quartz, than the endless black of pure obsidian?

Wands of Lust Co Aphrodite

Sex toys are a unique product in that, as something that is generally seen as risqué and not socially acceptable, people tend to find ways to categorise them so that they become acceptable. It means that rather than just being seen as a plain old vibrator or dildo, with nothing to offer but pleasure (so scary), alternative uses are found that can help take some of that edge off and make them more approachable. There are the geeks and fantasy lovers, who create toys based around pop culture for the ultimate roleplay experience, the artists and design lovers who see toys more like sculptures to be admired, and the nerds and tech lovers who want to innovate sex by connecting toys to our smartphones. But the type I want to talk about today is the wellness and spirituality lovers, who see sex toys as a way to deeply connect with your body and soul. And no product is more popular with this crowd than the iconic rose quartz wand.

Grinders Review Round-Up

Like many people, grinding was my entry point into the world of masturbation. Whether it meant rubbing at my vulva by hand or going on top of my pillows at night, I was doing it long before I even knew what a vibrator was. But now, after seven years of testing hundreds of sex toys, it’s not often I find myself resorting to this kind of “acoustic” play anymore. After all, I have all kinds of gadgets that can achieve the same thing for far less effort, and thus grinding had become but a distant memory. So, you can imagine my surprise when in 2021 a new toy trend seemingly emerged out of nowhere: grinders. From indie makers releasing a wave of textured non-insertables, to retailers relabelling old favourites like the We-Vibe Touch and Tenga Iroha+ Kushi as grindable toys, clearly something was going on, and I wanted in. Which is why I sought out six of the best for today’s very special grinder review round-up!

Closetplay Speedster

In October 2021 the sex toy world suffered a huge loss. Geeky Sex Toys, Australia’s first (and, for a long time, only) independent maker of silicone toys, closed their virtual doors. Pioneers of the fantasy genre, they introduced the idea of mixing pop culture with sex toys for all us “naughty nerds” out there, and as it turned out, there were a lot of us. But while they might have been the first to bring us the lightsaber dildo and Pikachu butt plug, they certainly won’t be the last. Many retailers, from other indie makers such as Deep N’ Geek to big brands like The Realm by Blush Novelties, have taken inspiration from Geeky Sex Toys over the years. However, I don’t think any have quite captured their almost chaotic creativity quite like newcomer Closetplay Sex Toys.

Australian-Made Lube of 2021I’ve always been a big supporter of buying local. After all, one of the reasons I started my blog was to help support Australian adult retailers and businesses. But over the course of the last two years, shopping local has felt less like the right thing to do, and more like a necessity. As what was once “unexpected” shipping delays becomes the norm, and more and more international retailers remove Australia from their standard shipping lists, purchasing goods from overseas no longer feels like an option for me, especially with the holiday season fast approaching. That’s part of why the opening of Faux Phallus and Darque Path, some of Australia’s first proper fantasy makers, earlier this year was so exciting. But in addition to this, there has been another, and perhaps even more vital, area of the industry that has recently saw local growth for the first time in a long time, and that is Australian-made lube. Within just the last year, four new brands have popped up around the country to ensure Australian’s aren’t without this pleasure essential, and today I’m going to be having a closer look at each of them.

Wildfire All Over Pleasure Oil & Arousal Oil

Last year I reviewed the Wildfire ‘Original’ All Over Pleasure Oil and ‘Feels Like Bliss’ Mood Mist. It was a bit of a different review for me, still sex related products, but not exclusively so. Due to this, that review has become very memorable for me, and the two products I received have become much loved in my household. Since my partner isn’t hugely into sex toys, the oil and mood mist quickly became his favourite products I’ve ever reviewed. We use them both on a weekly basis, and I’m not sure what I’d do without them now. So, when Wildfire recently contacted me about completing a new review for them, I was overjoyed. They sent me their All Over Pleasure Oil ‘All My Love’ Gift Pack, which contains the two oils that I had not previously tried, along with their IT Cooling Arousal Oil.

Wildfire All Over Pleasure Oil and Mood Mist

This blog’s main focus is to explore my own sexual journey, and with that I like to review any products that contribute to it. Sex toys are obviously a huge focus for me, because they are one of my favourite ways to be sexual alone, as well as fantastic for enhancing partnered play. But there are many other items that can help with this, such as lingerie, lubricants, and scented-items like candles and bath bombs. So I was super excited to learn about Wildfire recently, who make a great range of products, from massage oils, to lubricants and body butters. Plus, they make all of their goods in Australia, which I always go out of my way to showcase on the blog. They were kind enough to send me two of their items for review, their All Over Pleasure Oil in Original and their Mood Mist in Feels Like Bliss, and I’ll be discussing both in this post.

Nikki Darling Australia

Hello Lovers!

Thank you so much for your interest in shopping with Nikki Darling, I am thrilled you are here. Unfortunately, Nikki Darling is taking an indefinite break from trading due to my contracting Long Covid and developing a post-viral chronic health condition. At this stage, it is not known whether Nikki Darling will return.

I’d like to thank all of my loyal customers for their years of patronage. Opening this country’s first ever de-gendered sex toy shop has been one of the greatest accomplishments of my life, and the positive feedback I have had from you over the years is carried in my heart always.

Event: Sexpo Melbourne 2016 – Princess Previews

Sexpo Melbourne 2016

This weekend I attended Melbourne’s Sexpo 2016. It was my third time going to the event that has taken a special place in my heart. Sexpo was where my interest in the world of sex took flight and changed me from a girl who had never even been to a sex store before to one that walked out with 10 new toys. Of course none of these toys ended up being body-safe and they got me sick, but in a weird way I’m thankful for that because it lead me to research safe materials which lead to my blog. So in a way Sexpo helped create me, and I’ve been looking forward all year for the 20th year anniversary edition of the event.

While other countries have multiple sex conventions, summits and trade shows, Australia mostly just has Sexpo. It is a huge convention that spans four days and brings in thousands of people ranging from completely vanilla types to the most kinky of them all. In a world where talking about sex is seen as taboo, Sexpo always provides a breath of fresh air by giving us a space to actually feel open about our sexual desires. It takes away the usual mental image of a small and sleazy sex shop by replacing it with an event that is in the same halls PAX Australia and Oz Comic Con are held. As someone with social anxiety I struggle to go into sex shops personally, but at Sexpo the open space and convention feel (when I practically grew up at anime and gaming conventions) makes me feel at home. This is my third consistent year of attending Sexpo Melbourne and it has been my favourite year yet.

This year I was lucky enough to obtain a press pass for my partner and I which gave us free tickets to all four days as well as VIP privileges. This was the first time I’ve been media or VIP anywhere and I felt pretty special, thanks again Sexpo! I was also very lucky this year to meet fellow blogger Hysterical Em! Our blogger circle is very small in Australia so I was delighted when Em started up their blog in October and even happier when I found out they would be attending Sexpo! I managed to wrestle my anxiety into submission in order to spend Thursday of the show hanging out with them. This was my first time meeting another blogger and it was an absolute blast to be able to talk about my sex toy interests to someone who actually cared.

Sexpo Sliquid
Was proud to see Sliquid represented.

For the first time this year I also attended some panels and shows! I got to see one of my favourite Australian sex educators, Siren Vandoll, teach their ‘Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me: Scening with Sensation Play’ workshop which was a fantastic look into the world of sensation play which I’m now very much interested in. I also got to attend the Sexy Cosplay Competition hosted by Lucie Bee, whose work I’m also a big fan of. As a cosplayer myself this was awesome and I was very impressed by the work that had been put into the costumes. There was also a lot more hands on touching of toys than I usually find this year, and I even got some ice cream at the System JO stand that had their flavoured lube poured over it as a topping. I had chocolate and surprisingly it was actually really nice!

Sexpo Pipedream
The con was dominated by unethical brands such as Pipedreams and Cal Exotics.

While this was by far the best Sexpo I’ve been to in terms of its shows and workshops, the variety of sex toys available was a let down. Sexpo’s retailer stalls are primarily either sex toys or fetish orientated stands, and I’d estimate about 70% of the items sold at the show are sex toys. Despite this the range of body-safe toys is about 1 out of every 100 and actual brands or retailers in attendance is minimal, with most stalls just being called things like ‘Everything $10’ and selling unbranded or knock-off versions of toys. The first year I went I didn’t know much about toys, but I do remember there being many LELO and We-Vibe toys among other silicone options. Last year there was less, but still I found a few LELO, We-Vibe, D.VICE and Tantus toys, with Fun Factory being particularly prominent. This year clit stimulators seemed very popular, so Satisfyer, Womanizer and Shegasm were out in numbers. But other than them and OVO, Rocks Off, IMTOY and AVE there was absolutely no reputable brands that I knew of. Not only did they not have stands, but I didn’t see a single LELO, We-Vibe, Fun Factory, Tantus or any other body-safe, ethical, popular brand (that I know of) toy at all. Thankfully due to personal circumstances I had no money to spend this year anyway so I wasn’t too disappointed, but it was a big shock as someone who likes to believe the sex toy industry in Australia is improving rather than getting worse. It is hard to believe that at a sex toy based convention nobody decided to stock some of the largest names in the industry, it’s like if you went to a gaming convention and there was just no Nintendo or Sony games. Thankfully our lubricant game was on par to last year, with Sliquid having a space with the same stand as 2015, and while I don’t use fetish gear, penis orientated toys or condoms they seemed to also be well stocked.

Sexpo OVO
OVO’s stand.

The very few toys that I knew of I enjoyed getting to play around with. OVO were the only ones out of the previously mentioned brands that had their own stall at the convention. It was the same stall as last year which shows off their large range of vibrators. IMTOY had a small section of a booth which showed off five of the products from their new Zoo range. I just reviewed their Gazelle wand which is part of this range, so I was very interested to check out its sister toys. Similarly Rocks Off also had a small section of another stall which only stocked a few of their products. AVE’s Sky vibrator was available at a stand, it was my first time seeing it in person and it was as beautiful as I imagined, although also behind glass so I didn’t get to play with it.

Sexpo IMTOY
IMTOY’s new Zoo range.

Since clit stimulation seemed to be the ‘thing’ this Sexpo I did get to spend a lot of time playing with the brand new Satisfyer models and Shegasm model. I’m so over the moon by both Womanizer’s and Satisfyer’s decision to create more entry-level priced models of their clit stimulation toys. Previously they were so high priced that I don’t think I could ever justify buying one personally until I get a higher paying job, but now with Satisfyer’s cheapest model being around the $70 AUD mark even I could afford one. While it is hard to compare the suction with just my finger I didn’t feel a huge difference in abilities between the Satisfyer Pro 2 and its cheaper models. I also particularly liked the Shegasm’s wheel control button vastly over the Satisfyer Pro 2’s frustrating button (I had so much trouble with it at the convention I was asked if I needed help because I looked so lost, even though I own one!). While I did see some Womanizer models these were minimal compared to the others.

Sexpo Satisfyer
One of the main Satisfyer displays.

One good thing that did come out of there not being many big brands was that there was plenty of room for some amazing, body-safe Australian companies to step into the spotlight! This year I had the pleasure of being introduced to four Australian based companies who produce body-safe toys and who I hope I can feature on my blog in the future! There was MiaMaxx, a Melbourne based company who have created a vibrator that can thrust 3 inches automatically and that also comes with different attachment style ends so it can match your needs. Similarly Erotic Sex Toys who are based in Adelaide and sell a range of products (not all body-safe) launched their Sex Gun toy over the weekend which is also a thrusting style toy with replaceable heads which I vaguely remember being told was also made of silicone. They also had toys on show such as the Rexy which adjusts its speed based on the temperature of the clitoris and depth of penetration. Then there was Cloud Nine Adult Concepts who are based in Brisbane and have created a range of wand massagers with silicone heads called The Hummingbird and The Mini, plus they both also come with a range of wand attachments!

Sexpo Hummingbird

Finally there was Geeky Sex Toys who are based in Queensland, and I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud that a company is Australian owned. You’ve probably seen their range of Pokemon sex toys that came out earlier this year when Pokemon GO was all the rage, and since then their range has expanded into a beautiful merge of pop culture and body-safe sex toys, my two favourite things, and I absolutely love everything they produce. Normally I just talk about one or two favourite toys, but for these guys I can’t pick just two, they have Star Wars, Sailor Moon, Game of Thrones, Legend of Zelda, Doctor Who, Superman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Alien and Iron Man dildos. To top that off they also have a R2-D2 wand massager, Dragons Egg vibrator, Batman and C-3PO butt plugs and a Green Lantern cock ring! I don’t think you can get a much better line up than that, and I’m so happy they won Best Exhibitor at the convention. As you can see I am very smitten with them, and will be saving up my pennies soon for one of their toys, although heavens knows how I’m going to choose from that list!

Overall I had a wonderful time at Sexpo this year. Australia has a long way to go in the world of sex toy retail and educating the general public about unsafe materials, so the lack of availability of body-safe options sadly was not too surprising. However it was great to see far more Australian based brands producing body-safe toys than previous years and I very much hope this trend continues. Getting to see some of my favourite sex educators and porn stars was also an amazing experience, as was meeting my first fellow sex blogger out in the wild! I’m hoping to attend as many sex positive events as I can get my hands on in 2017 so hopefully I will have more event wrap-up posts coming your way!

Dildos Archives – Princess Previews

Funzze Stainless Steel Beaded Dildo

The last few years my collection of metal dildos has seen a rapid expansion, and I’m 100% here for it. Previously consisting of just my Njoy Pure Wand, I now have ample choice when it comes to playing with this unique type of toy. And as much as I love silicone, metal has become something of a new favourite. The reliable smoothness, as opposed to never knowing quite what you’re going to get with a silicone dildo, is frankly refreshing, especially for someone who isn’t always the biggest fan of some silicone’s level of tack. Plus, you haven’t really lived until you’ve warmed yourself up from the inside with a pre-heated metal dildo on a cold day. The big downside here is, of course, the price, but thanks to white-label retailers like Funzze, even that’s becoming a thing of the past. Despite being initially cautious about their Pure Wand dupe, I ended up loving it so much it earned fifth place in my Top 10 Sex Toys of 2023. So, when they recently suggested I try their latest metal creation, the Funzze Stainless Steel Beaded Dildo, I was all in.

Funzze 9″ Fantasy Dildo

I’ve loved watching the rise of the independent fantasy maker over the last few years, but one downside to the trend is the high costs associated with these products. Now, I don’t mean to imply that these toys aren’t worth their prices, of course they are. The amount of time and effort that goes into creating unique designs and then hand-crafting them to ensure maximum appeal, pleasure and safety is huge, and that’s without even considering the cost of silicone, equipment, and all of the other fees and skill sets required to run any small business. Yet I am also aware that it has created a divide between those who can and those who cannot afford them, therefore making anyone looking for a cheaper option more susceptible to instead accepting, either knowingly or unknowingly, a toy made of unsafe materials as an alternative. So, when I saw Funzze had their own version of a fantasy dildo, and for less than $40 USD, I knew it was something I had to investigate further.

Funzze Glass Tentacle

I love browsing the new arrivals section at Funzze to see all the latest sex toys they’re offering. Not only are they surprisingly high-quality and enjoyable products for a white-label retailer (so much so that they dominated last year’s Top 10 Sex Toys), but they are also some of the cheapest on the market. So when I recently saw they had launched a new range of glass toys, my first impression was one of excitement, especially when I noticed their Glass Tentacle dildo, a style I have been wanting to review for a long time. But… after this initial reaction, I hesitated. Even though I regularly talk about glass sex toys and how safe they are, I have actually only reviewed a few, and that was some time ago. Funzze’s options, to make matters even more uncertain, are made of borosilicate glass, yet are not annealed. I ended up doing a lot of research, and you can probably guess the outcome…

Njoy Disco

It’s been 19 years since Njoy launched and changed the sex toy industry forever. Coming onto the market with a very small selection of dildos and butt plugs, their commitment to delivering high-quality stainless steel toys paired with carefully considered designs remains unmatched today. Since then, they have only released one other dildo, the Eleven in 2008, bringing their selection to a grand total of three, with the other two being the legendary Pure Wand and the versatile Fun Wand. Whilst I adore the Pure Wand and regularly talk about it here, even though my review was almost eight years ago (!!!), neither the Eleven or Fun Wand ever felt suitable for me personally, with the former being too big and the latter being more akin to an anal version of the Pure Wand. So, although I am very satisfied with just the Pure Wand, I’ll admit I have often thought about what it would be like if this iconic company ever released something new. Well, the wait is finally over, as I am pleased to introduce you to the Njoy Disco.

Funzze Mini Realistic Dildo

Recently I’ve been spending a lot of time at r/SexToys helping to answer people’s questions (say hi if you see me!), and I’ve realised most posts fall into one of two categories. There are the beginners who have no idea where to start or what would work best for them, and then there is the exact opposite: people who know exactly what they want and just need help finding it. It’s made me more aware of just how versatile our desires can be, with many of these requests being for toys outside of the norm (hence why they’re struggling to locate them), particularly when it comes to sizing. I’m so accustomed to the average 18cm / 7″ length and 3.8cm / 1.5″ diameter of penetrables that I barely even stop to think about it, yet it seems there are plenty of people out there yearning for something different, from toys that are long and thin, short and thick, and every possible combination in between. So, when Funzze approached me about collaborating with them, I was instantly intrigued when I saw the Mini Realistic Dildo in their new arrivals.

Anal Toys Archives – Princess Previews

We-Vibe Ditto+

Anal August may be over, but that doesn’t mean the love for this form of play has to end! After all, without anal toys I might not be here, with my blog starting out primarily reviewing butt plugs, and my Beginner’s Guide still being one of the most popular posts at Princess Previews. Plus, today’s review isn’t on any old butt plug, but a toy I’ve been after ever since it was originally announced back in 2017. We-Vibe are the makers of many of my favourite sex toys, from the Tango X and Touch X, to the Nova 2 and Melt, and their beginner’s friendly and app-compatible Ditto was another success that I just never got round to trying. So when Lovehoney Group (who recently acquired We-Vibe) reached out to let me know they’d be releasing an upgraded version, the Ditto+, this August, I couldn’t have said yes to a review faster.

b-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite and remote

It was in 2017 that I first talked about how I just couldn’t get the idea of a rimming butt plug out of my head, and that has remained true until today. b-Vibe’s innovative first-of-its-kind rim job simulator was first released in 2016, acting as the launchpad for their now award-winning company, and was one of the products I featured in my Top New Sex Toys guide a year later. So even though I rarely review anal toys these days, with my last actually being on b-Vibe’s Snug Plug 2 in 2018, when COTR (the company that owns Le Wand and b-Vibe) recently reached out and asked if I’d like to review something from their collection, how could I not request the Rimming Plug Petite? Thankfully they were more than happy to oblige, and now here I am, finally reviewing what has remained the most exciting butt plug I’ve ever seen, even after seven years!

b-Vibe Weighted Snug Plug 2

Ever since b-Vibe arrived on the sex toy scene, I’ve been immensely intrigued by their seemingly amazing range of anal toys. Their first creation, the Rimming Plug, made it onto my list of Top New Sex Toys I Want To Try in 2017, which is not an easy feat for a brand new company! Sadly, I still haven’t gotten round to reviewing that toy, but in July they announced something that interested me even more than the Rimming Plugs. It was their silicone Weighted Plug range that they had aptly named the b-Vibe Snug Plug. Now, I am sure there are other weighted butt plugs out there, but this is the first one I’ve ever heard of, and I think it is a brilliant idea! Weight is one of the most important factors in butt plugs, but unless you want to dish out a lot of money for a metal one, you’re going to have a hard time finding anything good. b-Vibe’s Snug Plugs not only allow for a weighted plug that is made with silicone, but also make weighted plugs far more accessible due to their low cost. So as you can imagine, I was overjoyed when Peepshow Toys asked me to review one of these for them.

Doc Johnson American POP! Mode Butt Plug

Back in 2016 I started a review series looking at beginner’s butt plugs that were both good quality and cheap, so that anyone new to using them would have a few options on what to start with, without breaking the bank. Butt plugs are still one of my favourite sex toys as they are a fantastic entry-level kink toy and very versatile, but sadly 2017 didn’t seem my year for them, as I only ended up reviewing one. So, to ensure that doesn’t happen again this year I wanted to start 2018 with a butt plug review right off the bat, and to bring back my ‘good quality and cheap beginner’s plugs’ series. In this regard, today’s review is on the Doc Johnson American POP! Mode silicone butt plug in 4 inches, which has been kindly sent to me by Peepshow Toys.

VeDO Quaker Anal Vibe

The thing that makes me most happy about running this blog is seeing readers trust my recommendations enough to base their own purchases off of them. But not everyone can afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a sex toy, and so it is important for me to find cheap alternatives to recommend rather than just focusing on the luxury toys. This is my second VeDO review of the two Peepshow Toys recently sent me, and after the astounding success of the Luv Plus Clit Vibe I have been very excited to try out their Quaker Anal Vibe. To me, brand new company VeDO have already proven themselves to be worthy makers of cheap yet still body-safe, good quality, and well designed sex toys. For its price I thought the VeDO Luv Plus was extremely well made, and since the Quaker Anal vibe is even cheaper it certainly has a lot to live up to.

Tantus Perfect Plug Plus

My blog started with a butt plug review, and since then I have written a lot of them, including a guide for beginners on how to use them. From that I have been seeking out plugs to recommend to my readers, generally with an emphasis on affordable but still good quality types. For anyone willing to put in a bit of extra money though I have always recommended the Tantus Perfect Plug Kit. Even though I didn’t own it myself, I trust Tantus, and to me the kit always seemed like the perfect way to start an anal journey. From it you get two very high quality silicone plugs that you know will last you a long time. The first is the Perfect Plug, which is thin, small, and a great way for any beginner to start off, while the other one, the Perfect Plug Plus, maintains a similar shape but is larger and can be used with a bullet vibrator for added stimulation, once you have mastered the smaller one. So, when I was given the opportunity from Tantus awhile ago to review some of their products I knew that it was finally time to try out what I had been recommending, and so, as an already experienced anal toy user, I asked to review the Perfect Plug Plus.

Review: Sliquid Satin Lubricant – Princess Previews

Sliquid Satin

My vagina likes to be picky, and so when it comes to lubricant, there is only one brand I trust, Sliquid. I’ve been totally smitten with their Sea and Sassy lubes for almost a year now, using Sassy for my anal play, and Sea for everything else. Plus, they really do go a long way, my two bottles are only 125ml each, which really doesn’t look like a lot, but despite using them both almost weekly, each has over half left. Even though I couldn’t imagine needing anything more than these, with the Sliquid range I do get the overwhelming sense that I’ve gotta catch try ’em all.

There are a few I have my eye on, for instance I’ve never enjoyed any flavoured lubricants, but I have a feeling once I try their range it’ll change my opinion. Plus, their organics range and silicone lubricants sound divine. But the top of my list since I got Sassy and Sea, has been Sliquid Satin, so as soon as I got a chance to buy it I did, and I have not been disappointed.

Background

If there is one thing I absolutely love using and makes me feel totally sexy, it is moisturiser. I do online sex work, and have no interest in doing it offline, but sometimes I wish I could have clients feel my skin, because it’s so damn soft, it’s a shame they’ll never know! So of course, Sliquid’s water based intimate moisturiser, Satin, jumped right out at me as something I needed. I wasn’t completely convinced, I mean it might be a great lubricant, but could it really compare to some of my more expensive moisturising lotions? On the other hand, could it really compare to how great Sea and Sassy were, while still being a relatively good moisturiser? I didn’t really know what to expect either, would it look like a moisturiser or a lubricant? How would it feel? Well, lucky for you readers you don’t have to wonder these things because I’m here to tell you, and I’ll let you know now that I was silly for doubting Sliquid!

Product Description

Sliquid Satin

Just to start off, I want to mention some of the brilliant things that goes into making Sliquid Satin special. Firstly, as with all Sliquid lubricants, it is glycerin and paraben free, as well as hypoallergenic and non-toxic. Plus, Sliquid is always gluten free and vegan friendly. As I mentioned, Satin is designed to act as both a daily moisturiser, as well as a lubricant. Using extracts of Carrageenan, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, it is suppose to emulate your body’s own lubrication, which allows it to feel more natural than many other lubes. Finally, it is a water based lubricant, which means it can be used with any type of sex toy, silicone included!

Packaging

The packaging of Sliquid Satin is slightly different to that of Sassy and Sea. While Sassy and Sea both use very bright colourful labels, with a clear bottle, Satin goes in the opposite direction, having an almost opaque bottle, which has a blue tinge to it, and a darker label to match the bottle. This makes it feel a lot more luxurious, and much more special than the playful bottles of Sassy and Sea. By packaging it this way, it also looks very discreet and can easily be mistaken for a regular moisturiser, with even its label calling it a ‘natural intimate moisturiser’ rather than lubricant.

Sliquid Satin

First Impressions

Sliquid Satin is clear, like most other lubricants, and by eye looks exactly the same as Sea or Sassy, however is quite different from both of them. Essentially, I would call Satin a perfect in-between of Sea and Sassy’s qualities, leaning a little more towards Sassy than Sea. It is a thick lubricant, and acts as a good cushion between surfaces, although is still a little thinner than Sassy (which is a thick anal lube). Because of this, it feels quite slimy, and I would agree it does feel a lot like natural vaginal lubrication. Like Sassy, it keeps its form when applied to objects such as sex toys, but runs a lot faster and is more on par with Sea in this regard. It has a slightly different smell and flavour than Sea and Sassy, but overall is mostly tasteless and odourless. The biggest difference is, of course, how it dries. While Sassy and Sea both dry perfectly, leaving no residue or tacky feeling that most lubricants give, Satin’s moisturising powers means that it lasts longer, and when it does dry, it leaves you with soft skin.

My Experience

So, how does it compare to my regular moisturisers? Firstly, Sliquid Satin goes a long way. One large drop is all I need to moisturise my entire leg. Despite having only a 125ml bottle, I feel confident that even while being used as a moisturiser and lubricant by me quite often, that it is going to last me a long time. Meanwhile, most of my moisturisers need quite a bit more to cover the same area. Once spread, Satin dries rather quickly, and immediately gives off a softer and moisturised feeling. As you’ll know if you use moisturisers often, most take some time to dry, and will leave your body feeling kind of ‘moist’ for awhile, thus putting things like pants on can be a no go for a little while. Sometimes I enjoy this feeling if I don’t plan on having to immediately put clothes on, and so for that I would still go for my regular moisturisers, but for a faster drying moisturiser, Satin is definitely the way to go. Finally, once both are dried, they feel about the same in terms of soft skin.

Sliquid Satin

I love my Sea and Sassy lubricants, and I still do, just as much as I did when I reviewed them last year. But back then I thought they couldn’t be replaced, and I’m not afraid to say that I was wrong! Since I got Satin, it has pretty much replaced Sea and Sassy. It is basically the best of both world’s between the two, long lasting and natural feeling, while also being thick, plus it moisturises! I even started using Satin for less intensive anal play, and I find it works a treat. Rather than switching between Sea and Sassy constantly, and needing both of them on my dresser, I can just have Satin out and use it whenever, for whatever!

Final Thoughts

I didn’t think it could happen, how could anything replace Sea and Sassy? They’re perfect, do exactly what I need them to, and are always there for me! I guess Sliquid Satin is just what happens when two perfect things are merged together, and plus don’t forget it moisturises! I will still recommend Sea to anyone looking for a good basic lubricant, and Sassy as my primary anal lubricant. But for now, Satin has totally won me over. Thank you, Sliquid gods, you have done it again!
